She couldn't believe this was all happening. It was all like some horrible nightmare they had to wake up from. Why couldn't they wake up from it? When Jean spoke Cessily who's attentions were fully on the lifeless body of Jamie snapped out of her daze and turned her pupiless gaze to the red haired doctor. Her next word came as a whisper almost hardly audible and very much with a sense of shock anyone had come these circumstances. "But he really can't....he has to ghost..he has to be reborn.." she was speechless after that. And when the time of death was about to be said she shook her head strongly, not believing it.
But seconds passed in which it was unpronounced our well stopped in mid pronouncing. Jamie's life was flickering back to life and she couldn't help but give a huge sigh of releif and a smile. Her shoulders slunk as she did so. A weight lifting so much from her shoulder. "Thank you.." she whispered again as her gaze turned towards Mr. Logan. He spoke of what had happened. "It was a stupid mistake..so stupid on my part! I'm...I'm so sorry.." her head dropped a bit before Mr. Logan asked her the simple questions.
"Kevin...his name is Kevin and he's gone after her. X ran away and he followed. It didn't surprize me. He wanted me to make sure Jamie was going to be alright. Please tell me he's going to be alright.." she said slowly the end as her gaze became a pleading void. She hoped and preyed he would come back to life soon...come back to conciousness that is.

”Some teacher I’ll make huh. Not even in the danger room and kids are already getting hurt right under my nose.” Jean caught Logan’s hand in hers, her expression hardening. “Hey,” she blurted. “This was no one’s fault. Every student here knows the risks of what at might happen to them if they choose to hone their skills under our tutelage. It was an accident. You're right, this didn’t happen in the danger room; this was a schoolyard fight gone wrong. Do you think this doesn’t happen in every other school?” Her voice was hard and firm, but the point was made. She didn’t look at anyone with an accusatory air.
While she washed Jamie’s blood from her hands and face, Jean listened as they both explained what was going on with Kevin and X. “In my professional opinion, he’s more than stable… at least physically speaking. I’d like to talk to the other students who were involved. Would you stay here with him in case he wakes up?” she asked Mercury. Her hands sandwiched Cessily’s, “I wouldn’t want him to have to wake up alone, but we have to go and see to the other students…”
Jean’s lips curled into a small reassuring smile as she withdrew, eyeing Logan and signaling him to join her. Before long she and Wolverine were riding up the elevator again, the volumes of silence that separated them enough to fill a library. She wanted to say something; anything; but this was such a shock to her system all she managed to do was add to the mess. “You called me back because of the attack didn’t you?” Doors slid open and Jean exited the lift without waiting for the answer. She walked with him past still shocked students a few of whom approached her asking about Jamie’s wellbeing. “He’s going to be just fine… have any of you seen where X and Kevin went?” A few pointed toward the front door.
Jean nodded her thanks and exited the mansion walking alongside Logan as she peered to and fro for any sign of the wayward kids. “Wolverine, can you track where they went?” Of all the X-Men he was like a bloodhound. Most were hard pressed to hide from Logan if he got it in him to seek you out. It was the same with her, before the accident. Now that she was no longer able to tap into minds it was hard, mostly because it made her have to ask for help.

“But he really can’t …he has to ghost…he has to be reborn.” Weight shifted and he looked towards Cessily. What exactly did she mean. A angled brow quirked. Eyes looked over the boy, then Jean, then back. Maybe there was something about him they didn’t know. Well clearly there was. Both he and Jean were new. Neither of them knew much about the students. But this young girl seemed to know something about the boy lying there in the Med-Lab, something about his powers. “What exactly do you mean?”
Logan shifted his gaze to Jean as she grabbed his hand. Mind flashed back any image of their former embraces. But it had always been Scott, not him. If he still carried anything for her he’d tried to bury it. Kill it away. Standing there with her again it was hard not to let something spark. Of course he knew her better. She could look him in the face and tell him it wasn’t his fault. The same words were said when Remy fell. Sometimes she needed to take her words to heart more than anyone. Eyes looked back over to Cessily as she spoke about Kevin and X and now they knew the boy on the table was named Jamie. Jean had a way about her, a way that could make someone else feel calm. As she moved away he stepped to move as well stopping when he was shoulder to shoulder with Cessily. “It ain’t you’re fault kid.”
His voice was a gruff whisper as he continued out. The heels of the cowboy boots clomping as he made his way to the elevator where Jean was waiting inside. The doors slid closed and there was an awkward silence. One of the silences he hated most. Where both wanted to say something but couldn’t. Suddenly she broke the silence. “You called me back because of the attack didn’t you?” “You shoulda called.” Logan sighed as he turned his face towards her. He wanted to say more but the elevator was coming to a stop. The doors opened and he stepped out. There were other kids gathered as well. Just like a school full of teenagers a lot of them already knew what happened.
Wolverine let Jean smooth things over with the students as he went to the scene of it all. Taking in the smells. He looked around before jean met at his side once again calling him by a nickname he hadn’t heard in a long time. “Of course I can. The boy I haven’t got a strong scent on. X. I’d know it anywhere. This way.” Large hand ran through slightly spiked up dark hair as he stood from his crouch heading out towards the door. Outside there was a lot more scents to take in, but he was able to pick up on X’s. He motioned forwards as he moved, keeping a slower pace so Jean could keep up with him. Stopping in one area he paused, triple adamantium claws extending quickly from his knuckles. There was another smell in the air. Moving again he followed it. A mix of X’s, the boys, blood and someone else.
