“You shoulda called.” She heard his words perfectly, and before she could hold her tongue she snapped back a biting retort. “Bruce tightened security. He was more than capable of making sure I was safe.” As soon as she said it she wanted to take it back. He didn’t need to know about her relationship so soon after her arrival. Her eyes glanced over to him, knowing that she was about to get an eyeful of restrained pain; reopened wounds; obvious turmoil behind his stoic stature.
She pushed her own life aside while they looked for X and Wither, Logan running off as he caught their scents. She’d forgotten how quickly he could run, how much he was holding back for her. As he paused she felt his arm thud lightly against her chest, warning her to stop. Jean watched as he sniffed the air and spied around, her own senses working hard to hear and smell what he was picking up.
With the wind blowing in their direction she knew this was easy work for him. It felt nice to be outside in New York’s fall. Her own senses picked up the familiar odors that she’d been missing; burning wood from the chimney; wet leaves as they decomposed on the forest floor; the hint of rain teeming on the verge. Her eyes spied the dark foreboding clouds overhead. If they were lucky the kids would have decided to take the brood fest inside, but somehow she just knew they were all going to get caught in the storm.
Hair that had come loose from her upsweep danced over the back of her neck and invaded her vision. Her hand came up to her face as she held the loose locks back and at bay. She squinted and looked from Logan to the rustling up ahead and then back. Not wanting to scare the students, Jean walked forward boldly, her hands loosening her hair as she walked without malice or fear toward what she assumed were the wayward children. “Kevin? X? I’m not here to hurt you I just want to talk…I’m a new teacher at school. Jamie is going to be alright… please we just need to sort everything out…”

Form froze for a moment as Jean spoke his name, Bruce. And he only knew of one Bruce. That was Wayne. The muscles along his jaw bone tightened for a moment against the rugged features of his face, the scruffy sideburns of dark hair. He said nothing more. The doors opened and he moved. There was something about it, it reopened scars he carried. While not visible to the eyes of anyone else, save for maybe her. Though he could see the allure. The man was intelligent and Jean always like that.
It had been a while since even he had been in New York. For a while he traveled. Tried to find out more about himself. About his past. For a year or so he’d settled down. A rustic cabin in the woods left alone. But that didn’t keep Emma Frost from finding him. Or him keeping contact with the people he cared for. Despite the hardened exterior Logan did care for people. A select few maybe, but he’d do about anything to protect them. There was a storm brewing. The wind was helpful to the cause. And he felt Jean stop into his arm as he extended it.
Gray eyes looked around the trees. Smelling the area. There was a still about it and it would have been enough to prickle the hairs upon the nape of ones neck. He crouched slightly looking over the ground. There had been a struggle. Moving he tried to gage it out, mentally recreate what might have happened there. Jean’s movements brought his attentions up. She was pushing through the bushes calling out to the children. Then he picked up the scent. His stocky form moved quickly as he heard the rustling in the trees. The strong scent of X-23 and the boy. And who ever else had been part of the struggle.
“Jeanie!” Claws retracted as he moved into action. Arms wrapped around the woman as he semi-tackled her to the ground. Rolling slightly he used one of his hands to brace the fall and lie above her for a moment. Webbing hit the bushes where she had been standing. Pulling away he looked down towards her, his eyes holding that look of ‘be careful’. He could smell X she was up in the trees. Form moved as boot came against the trunk of a tree and form went into the air. He tucked until he could plant his feet on another tree across from the first he’d used. Moving until he was standing balanced on a branch. There was a familiar snkit sound as the veins in his forearms pulsed and claws were extended.

Jean turned to the sound of her name, only to have her eyes widen in surprise at the tackling embrace from Wolverine. Whatever words she was about to say got garbled into a small jolted yelp of surprise. She landed in a heap underneath him; each awkwardly shifting at the realization of hand placement, "Woah that's my-" curves, "..umm.." and the near meeting of lips to skin. She forced a cough. Aside from the eminent need to protect Jamie, she was Jean was mostly trying to avoid the feeling in her stomach every time she saw him. With a small exercise in telekinetic energy, Jean pushed to her feet, glad that Wolverine hadn’t noticed the flush of her cheeks or the light flutter that was in her throat.
Shifting her weight, she watched as Wolverine took to the trees. Jean side-stepped, sizing up the disturbed earth and knowing that whatever it was that had thrown the webbing was fast. She wasn’t about to gat caught off guard again. Hip hugged in denim pivoted as her slender figure strafed into the thicker, darker section of wood. This wasn’t the first time she’d ever fought an adversary in the forest adjacent the mansion, and if this was the last she would be surprised. As she turned a long rope of white tickled over her shoulder, across her cheek. With a gasp Jean brushed the vine off of her and looked to the canopy.
X was perched up there with something that looked like a giant moth cocoon. As she clawed away, Jean spied Kevin’s hand flop out of the side, and at once she called out to the young weapon X. “Let me help you!” Telekinetics were getting easier and easier for her, and without too much strain Jean was able to pull Kevin free from the bough as well as begin to remove the sticky substance from his form. Even without her hands, it was difficult. She looked over to X. “We need to get him back to the med lab at once.” Her hand reached out to lift him up only to be drawn back quickly with a curse. She looked to her palm, and the now scored flesh. “…like Rogue…” she muttered. Her brow darkened with concentration as she TKed him into the air.

The girl with the claws was trying to take him, take her new play toy. Eyes narrowed as she shot up once more, webbing exiting her fingertips as she made a mad dash towards the girl who clawed away at her friend. There was nothing in Allura's mind that would let this beastly girl have her toy.
Hands spun webbing from her fingers, her body was moving this way and that within the trees, she was moving just as quick as the girl would have on foot, however, she had these sweet little bands of silver goodness. The webbing shot from her fingertips towards the girl, some wrapping around the silver blades, others missing their mark and leaving the girl with random spools of webbing which she quickly slashed her way through.
Fangs barred as she bum rushed the girl, a swiping motion felt on her shoulder, she let her fingers drag along X's torso. Webbing exited her fingers at that moment and Allura made her way around the tree, trying to tie X onto the tree with the stickiness. All the while the poisonous green slime that she called blood, seeped from her shoulder in a discolored mess.
By now her arms were getting tired, though she was oddly strong, she still hated the fact that her arms couldn't continue her swinging on them constantly. "Why won't you just let him go... he'll be fine... we're only playing a game..." Then she heard them, two more. Eyes shot back and narrowed towards Wolverine. Great, a man with claws too.
Hissing she took off towards him, as if flying through the trees like a strange bird of prey she went to tackle him off the treebranch he was on. No, this kid was hers.

How could he let her know he was awake? She sounded so worried and personally wounded that he was even in the state he was in. Yet he couldn't see her, he couldn't see the one person who risked her life to save him-him of all people. Stupid Kevin Ford who killed his own father and mother... stupid Kevin who can't even hold a rose without killing it.
A tear gathered at the corner of his eye, he tried hard to blink it away, before she could see it... clouded eyes seemed to stare right into her glowing red orbs, but he couldn't see it... he couldn't see what he wanted to see so desperately. Yet he heard her heavy breathing and frantic grunts as she tried to hack away at the coocoon he was bundled in.
Finally his hand fell out and he heard other voices... a familiar grunt from the man... Mr. Logan. Eyes closed, what did he bring onto everyone here. Who rather, who was this bitch that wanted to take him and not let him go... who was the woman with the bite?
The voice came from below, but it had strength behind it, but Kevin was still worried- the attack had been taken off of X for a few moments and put on someone else, obviously not this woman... but please don't let that woman be a partner of this biting woman's. Oh god. Then he felt the weirdest sensation of flying through the air... then being on the ground again.
Where was X? She didn't leave him alone did she? The webbing was getting pulled off slowly, but he couldn't feel the fresh air on his body yet. Damnit. He wanted to get out and run... hell he wanted to see. Why did she do this to him? Why did she choose him?
Suddenly he felt someone touch his hand. NO! his mind yelled out but it was too late, the girl pulled back her hand quickly and he smelt the decay that began and quickly ended. Eyes squinted in anger before he whimpered... he couldn't even say sorry.
"...Like Rogue..." the woman stated leaving questions building in his mind before he felt his body lift again and his form float away.

She clawed at him, slashed at him, tried her dardnest to get this mess off of him. She hardly even noticed any reaction in his features in his form at all. But it didn't matter even if she had, she was at such a feral state it would take alot to wake her out of it. Alot like seeing this womans blood glazed across her fingers, hands and claws. She wantede her to suffer.
She growled deeply once more as she slashed at the caccoon like object that surrounded Kevin. Finally his arm fell out, in all her efforts she was getting somewhere. Or so she thought. There was a familiar scent below that she didn't pay attention to just yet and then a voice of a woman. "Let me help you!". But X didn't react at all, except to the sudden sticky substance that drapped over her, the tree branch and her claws. It slowed her down, it kept her from her full speed. It almost stopped her. With a angered and frustrated snarl she glared towards the woman that had started this all. The light reflecting bits of red orbs towards her. "Because he is my friend! Because you deserve to have your blood spilled." her tone was so enraged.
She looked back once as Kevin fell towards the ground below but was hoisted up by some invisible energy. And the familiar scent she smelled was none other than Weapon X himself. She pulled a bit at the sticky substance that kept her bonded to the tree branch. Little by little she cut through, not fast enough for her liking. But the woman had her attentions on another, Weapon X. She was going after him, that would give X a chance to pull from what little bonding and attack her as well. She would help him too as best she could.
Suddenly there was a snap at the silk, it was far to much later than she would have hoped, the woman was already having her struggle with Weapon X. From the tree top she leapt down, down to leap right onto the woman. Down to strike her. She would not let this woman live, it was her life for her own now.

Angry. That was the only thing she could come to explain how she felt right there. Beyond angry, yes, infuriated. That was the word. SHE chose her prey, SHE tracked her victim, and SHE entangled it within her nest. Yet THEY wouldn't let him go. "Don't you two know the age old rule. Only the strong survive?" She hissed as she struggled with Weapon X. Scratch and scratch... she was getting beaten up pretty bad... to the point where the green ooze was everywhere.
The overly acidic blood boiled upon his cool blades, her eyes narrowed as she hissed and spat the paralyzing substance at the grizzled man. How would she win this? She couldn't... she would never have the chance.
They were on the ground now, wrestling and fighting, her fingers sending webbing this way and that... she did not like this. "I see, New England area... you all come in packs... taking one down means the whole... group." She grunted the sentence out painfully before she heard something come from above. Eyes drifted skyward and suddenly she stopped. That girl was jumping down onto her.
Suddenly her body fell to the floor in a protective way, silver webbing moving around her, dancing and rolling over her shoulders. There was nothing she could do but wait this one out. Eyes narrowed as she watched the world disappear as she spun the cacoon around her body... trying to sheild herself from the onslaught. It wouldn't help... she had watched those claws tear through her webbing before... however they might-let her go?

Jamie didn’t know why he was connected to X he was just was. This was something entirely new for him. Maybe it was part of his ghosting powers that he didn’t know about. He didn’t know much about his powers to begin with. The only thing he’d ever really tried was regenerating himself. Part of him was scared what if he never woke up from this state. Just staying in this ghostly plane, while his body lie in a coma in the living. It was almost like she knew he was there. “I don’t blame you…”
X had run through him back the direction they’d come. Mind took a gasp of something, and image or maybe a memory. A woman in a long white coat. But he could tell that her mind was racing else where. Kevin. This whole day was going wrong. Jamie couldn’t see X anymore as she rushed off, but suddenly like before his phantom form was pulled to where she was. There was fighting going on. Someone had Kevin. His new roommate. She bit him, that weird spider woman bit him. Dragged him up in the trees. But he could see it all.
There was more too it. For a moment he saw Kevin in his realm. Then he was gone and he heard the muffled voice of the boy as X entered the semi open patch. She lashed out on attack towards this woman, Kevin almost seemed to struggle until he was bit again. Something in that woman’s bite must have been like a poison. Would a strong enough dose kill someone. “Kevin…” Jamie moved closer to where he saw the boy. He wasn’t all there, nor was he all top side. Maybe in an unconscious state he could see people. Like going under anesthesia different levels of death of shades from gray to black. Kevin was gray.
“Buddy you gotta wake up. Time to wake up, eh.” Phantom hands shoved the boy as the world faded back to a almost normal state. Everything to him still seemed a bit hazy. There was more rustling and he gasped two figures had fallen through him. A man and a woman. What ever he gleaned was muddled. Mixed. Jamie couldn’t make heads of any of it. Turning he saw Logan and the red head doctor who’d been working on him. There was a feeling of something from her. Like part of her had died. And sadness. Jamie backed away, he didn’t want to feel anyone else.

She was ontop this woman. She pressed her towards the ground. Kevin was safe, The red haired woman had him and Weapon X was coming back still. She had means to kill and maim this woman. To teach her like everyone else who tried to hurt her, that she wasn't what they expected. She was strong.
A webbing began to form, she was covering herself like she did Kevin. No way X was letting her go that easily. With frustrated growls she slashed and slashed at the substance that formed. It formed quick but her blades worked quick too. Unfortunatly not quick enough to stop her from disappearing into her own little world. "Coward!" she yelled at the top of her lungs as the woman disappeared and she was left to try to cut to her. Try being the word.
Suddenly something inside her shifted, she felt her head becoming a bit dizzy. She felt this once before, when the pain was to much for her to bare and she fell unconcious. But this wasn't from pain. She glanced down slowly at her side. The earlier cuts which didn't have full time to heal were covered in the green liquid that came out of the woman. And it was having sone strange affect. She could feel her form becoming slightly weaker. But she fought back, her ability to heal fought back. She was determined to kill this woman so she wasn't about to let this happen. Slash, slash SLASH. She wouldn't stop, like a crazed animal she was out for blood now. And with every frustratingly weaker slash she yelled in a rage befitting a beast. Ignoring everything else around her.

Mind pushed away thoughts of Jean. He had too. Deep down she still had a hold of him, try as he might it was something he couldn’t let go. X-23 was struggling with Kevin trying to removed the strange webbing that encased his form. Nostrils flared as he took in the smells around him. Who ever had done the attacked moved into the trees. He could hear the rustling, smell the almost acidic nature of her blood. Eyes looked to where the young weapon x was. Jean had stood up and moved into cover. Calling out to the children as he focused back on the trees.
“Picking on kids huh. Why not try playing with someone else!” He growled towards the trees and it seemed to have worked. Movements came at him quickly with the swinging motion. So they had themselves a rogue sort of Spider Girl. Logan pushed off the branch as she moved to tackle him off. Weapon X was waiting for her to strike. Hands gripped a smaller branch as he moved pulling himself up on another one. The woman came back for more. Left clawed fist swiped at her as webbing hit his shoulder. Adjusting himself to keep balance his other hand moved grabbing her.
Fighting in the tree tops were never easy. Unbalanced and you had to pay more attention. It was clear Weapon X was getting the upper hand. When acidic blood touched his flesh it boiled and bubbled and just as quickly healed. The same couldn’t have been said for his flannel button down shirt. It was ripped and had web stuck to it. Acid burned holes in other places, reveling his defined if not fuzzy chest. Moving again he had her backing away on a branch while he stayed near the trunk. Jean had taken care of Kevin, the boy was free but looked injured. And for a slight moment his brow quirked as she used her telekinetic they seemed to be getting stronger.
He could smell the mix of sweat, web, blood and acid from the fighting. And X-23. She was moving. With Jean taking care of the other student Xevannah had joined him in the tree tops. Wolverine had seen her move before the woman they fought. Adamantium claws thunked deep into the trunk as he crouched. The tripled blades still free swung. He watched the woman flinch from the idea of another attack from his claws. But X was nearly upon her and her attentions were drawn up skywards. Claws sliced through the branch cutting it free from the tree, allowing gravity to take it’s toll. His own booted feet fell with the branch unable to support weight being detached. Let alone with three people. X-23 had pounced, and the spider woman reacted like a bug would, trying to protect herself. Letting his claws sink back in he dropped from hanging in the tree. Form landed in a crouch as his claws extended quickly once again. “Jean is the boy all right?” But his eyes turned to X as she slashed the cocoon. She wasn’t getting anywhere and he could see her getting weaker. Rising to his full form Logan moved up behind her his hands grabbed her wrists and pulled her back. Crossing her own arms against her with his as he pulled her back to his chest. Holding her tightly, almost like a father would to an upset child.

Even if the fighting had gotten out of hand, it mattered little to Jean Grey. Her gift had developed to such an intense state that at that height of the battle, she’d constructed a Psi-bubble about herself. She barely noticed as webbing hit the invisible shielding at her back and slid to the ground without once coming close to touching her. The same could be said about anything really. For the few minutes while she knelt, and walked with Kevin, Jean was in her own little world.
Jean is the boy all right?” She looked over to Wolverine, “I don’t know what kind of toxins have been introduced into his system… he isn’t in arrest, and he’s breathing so I don’t think they are breaking down his organs, but I need to get him into the lab right away.” It was impressive to watch him work. How effortlessly he was able to hold the crazed girl in his arms and keep her from hurting herself. Jean never doubted the Wolverine, especially in the field. She could think of perhaps only two people who could really give him a run for his money without invading his mind; Magneto and perhaps Polaris if the girl was able to focus her skills to affect Logan’s adamantium skeleton. She cringed to think of how it must feel to have everything on the inside so cold. Maybe that was why he was such a loner. Maybe the cold had somehow infected everything; not just his constitution. Could the same be said for X?
“I’ll meet you back inside!” she called out again, knowing that at least for the time being she could do nothing to help him out. The young girl was feral, slashing whenever she got the chance, and far deadlier than Jean could have imagined. Logan said he knew her; that much was as obvious as the claws in their forearms. This was a triage. She knew the routine, the protocol. She’d written it. Assess the situation, take the most critical first, and come back for the rest after stabilization. Jean didn’t hesitate. The boy floated next her as she ran at full tilt toward the manor. Her hair flew out behind her in wave after wave of deep red; the silk on her blouse pressed across every curve of skin; breath was drawn in, chords strained out on her neck.
Breathlessly Jean re-entered the mansion, jogging past students with mouths agape. Most were too stunned for questions, but one of them cried out. “What happened?” “There’s been an attack. Please everyone I must insist that for your own safety that you go to your dorms right now.” “I’m not about to just sit here – I’m not scared!” a boy piped in. “You will do exactly what I say when I say it unless you want to end up like Kevin! Now get out of my way and get to your dormitories… now!!” Student scattered like cockroaches in the light; and Jean continued her powerful strides back down into the med-lab.
-
“Any changes?” she questioned Mercury, reentering the lab with Kevin in tow. Gingerly she set him down on an open gurney, her eyes widening as she saw the sheets and then the padded mattress dissolve into nothingness in no time flat. “Alright… what the hell is that?” Jean’s eyes were wide with wonder. Walking to the computer, she typed in a few commands; growling as her old access codes were no longer active. Sighing Jean looked skyward, thinking for a moment. Her hands hesitated for half a second over the keys before she typed in a series of commands. >>PLEASE ENTER ACCESS CODE<< She chewed her lip, hoping that the memory wipe didn’t wipe the backdoor she knew about. Again she typed. It was an obscure reference, but one that Jean found to be quite fitting. …Open medical files… >>PLEASE ENTER PASSWORD<< …Joshua… >>GREETINGS PROFESSOR XAVIER. SHALL WE PLAY A GAME?<< …open medical files… >>ACCESS GRANTED<< Before long Jean had tapped into the medical files on record, and was looking over Wither’s chart.

The time seemed so endless. Slash after slash, claw after claw it was all the same. The webbing stayed, the efforts were wastes. But X was not about to give up. The red haired womans ability only slightly impressed X. Well considering she was a bit to busy to take real notice, and somehow she trusted the woman, only for a second really. And only because Weapon X seemed to.
She only listened to eachothers words half heartedly, she was to busy at her present task. She liked to make people pay, she was a trained assassin after all, a weapon so this was natural to her, this was how you dealt with threats. But sometimes people stop you, or get in the way of your plans, your actions. That X never liked.
Out of no where and in all her efforts to get to the woman, her wrists were grabbed by cold hands. Roughly they crossed them over and against her chest. She fought back the motion but even though she might be a little more trained in a bit of areas, she sure as heck was no where near stronger than Logan. So he managed to do just as he wished, pulling her close against his chest. She struggled still like a little worm. She didn't like being caught, or held or told what to do so the rebeling animal within her continued its feralistic fight. But soon after a small struggle and tugging at her arms to be freed, the venom was beginning to take its toil.
Of course it would be through her system and out in a matter of minutes but it made a mark none the less. The rage in her eyes slowly subsided, the pair faded from a red to yellow to green. She sighed under the arms around her and suddenly like a child pressed a bit more against Logan's form. Her head bowed down and eyes taking in the ground below their feet sadly. "I just want Kevin to be safe." was her small voice. As monotone as her calm state gave. "And I'm sorry I killed Jamie."

He listened to Jean as he stood there, X struggling in his arms trying to free herself, he was still much stronger. Body didn’t even flinch when her elbows hit him in the ribs. A lot of it was thanks to the adamantium grafted to his entire form. He can remember a few times he felt actual pain, Agony. Magneto. In combat Creed was his closest foe. Jean’s face glanced towards them and he looked back. She’d take care of Kevin just like she’d taken care of Jamie, he knew that because he knew Jean, and much like him she’d do what ever it took.
His attentions were brought back to X slowly she’d stopped fighting the restraining hold he had on her. His own claws had retracted the skin of his knuckles just slightly pink from healing. He hadn’t been as exposed to the venom as X had, but he could see the change in her. Exhaling he loosed his grip as she leaned against him, hanging her head. The difference between them. He wasn’t a child when he became a weapon, he was a grown man. Had a life, at least he’d hoped he did. And she was a child going into a tough stage of life. Teenage years. Even for a non-mutant it was rough. For someone like X it would have been double what anyone else felt.
“I know the feeling.” He looked down at the girl in his arms moving his face some. His features didn’t look as grizzly just then. And maybe he was starting to slowly care for X-23. After all their meetings. Gray eyes shifted looking the way Jean had walked away with the boy then back to X. “Kevin will be fine. Jean will know what to do.” Jean was one of few people he really trusted fully. Hands moved to X-23’s shoulders and he slowly turned her around as he took a knee before her. Out of anyone he knew she needed the Institute. In ways the same, so did he. “I know you didn’t. It was an accident. I should have done my job better of keeping you kids safe. It was no one’s fault. And, Jamie isn’t dead. Doctor Gray was able to stabilize him…but he’s in a coma. Wounds even closed up, sort of like you and me.”
His eyes looked over to the cocoon. How that woman got there, where she came from and why she wanted Kevin were all questions burning in his mind. They couldn’t leave her out there, but he didn’t feel ease about bringing her back to the Mansion either. But something had to be done. And he knew just the room to put her in. The confinement room Creed had once been in. Shifting his weight he removed his hands from X’s shoulders and stood. Hefting the cocoon over his shoulder like a duffle bag. Moving he stepped next to X. “Come on kid, when we get back I’ll take you down to the med-room so you can check up on Kevin and Jamie.” Shifting the cocoon he started walking again, not hearing X following behind him he stopped half turning to look at her. “I know how you’re feeling. I had the same ones. Part of me found a home here…maybe part of you will too… Laura…”

Kevin’s mind was here and there, he knew he was alive-awake… yet his eyes slowly started to droop. He couldn’t see the darkness that was overcoming his once-was-eyesight yet he knew it was happening. Kevin couldn’t help but begin to panic. Why did he allow himself to get caught? Why did… well the why questions could go on forever. Kevin only knew now he had to fight it.
Yet fighting it was the easy part… it was seeing himself in and out of the shadow realm that scared him. Maybe everyone was right… he falls for the wrong girls all the time. Sighing inward he forced his eyes shut. If he just gave up the fight, maybe he wouldn’t hurt anyone else… maybe he wouldn’t cause damage or pain to anyone.
Then he heard it, his shadow realm called to him-the beautiful song that embraced him as the time went on through this moment suddenly grew stronger. Standing outside of himself he stretched out of mere habit before being verbally assaulted. Turning quickly he saw Jamie. “Kevin… Buddy you gotta wake up. Time to wake up, eh.”
Kevin’s head cocked to the side before sneering a simple “it’ll be easier this way….” He felt his body begin to fall into the random state of shock… he felt the ties to his body disappear with every moment… but he couldn’t resist the urge to sit and watch what they would do to him to try and save him. Since Jamie disappeared, his spiritual form followed his physical form.
His astral form watched as he was taken in the building quickly by this woman, brow arching as he listened to this whole fiasco. “What happened?” “There’s been an attack. Please everyone I must insist that for your own safety that you go to your dorms right now.” “I’m not about to just sit here – I’m not scared!” “You will do exactly what I say when I say it unless you want to end up like Kevin! Now get out of my way and get to your dormitories… now!!” Kevin shook his head, of course they jumped when snapped at. Sighing to himself he followed the pair-himself included which seemed odd, down to the medlab where he saw Cessily crying her metallic tears. How he wanted to comfort his good friend, but all he could do in this form was walk to her and place a spiritual hand upon her cheek.
Maybe he should stay, maybe everything would be fine…. Then he turned just in time to see himself wither everything he touched. Shit… he said softly before looking around, where was that metal bed they always placed him on?
“Alright what the hell was that?” obviously the redhead was getting frustrated with him… >>PLEASE ENTER ACCESS CODE<< She chewed her lip, hoping that the memory wipe didn’t wipe the backdoor she knew about.
Coming up behind Jean, his eyes looked at his own medical file-reading random words… and remembering everything. Real Name: Kevin Ford Code Name: Wither From: Atlanta, Georgia, USA Age: 15 Hair Colour: Brown Eye Colour: Green Height: 5'7" Weight: 131 lbs Mother: Died in birth Father: Died after incident with Wither’s powers That’s what was normal… though his eyes scanned where she searched his powers, if you wanted to call it that… and that’s when he saw it. He developed the unfortunate ability to decay any organic material that comes in contact with his skin. His death touch makes it hard for him to interact with others. When his powers first manifested, he accidentally killed his own father. His worst fear is that the same would happen with his friends-and he once lost control of his powers when in a fight with a villain causing Danielle Moonstar to use his worse fear against him.
DESIGNATED: UNTOUCHABLE His heart ached at that very moment, but what could he do… it was all true. Everything.

"No you don't" like a defiant child, X spoke suddenly out, so cold so hard. Her eyes narrowed at the ground. Something about this was infuriating her but at the same time keeping her laxed. His hands slowly let her go and she was spun around. He continued talking as she looked up to meet his eyes. She never took eye contact away from him, in fact she never blinked. But she did look as unhappy as she ever was, maybe a bit more so than usual.
"Don't tell me how I feel. You don't know." she was always this way, so defiant. She didn't like people trying to understand her or read her. She didn't like when they tried to act like they knew her. Sure besides Kevin, Logan was the one that knew her best, if not more than Kevin. But she grew up alot different from what he did, so maybe it was true that clones don't always end up exactly like their make.
He let it slide, if only for a little while the way she spoke to him. She knew that somehow deep down he was softer than she was, but that was because he got the help she so desperatly needed. He got to learn that he wasn't alone in the world and that he'd always have friends to count on. He learned trust, she wasn't quite ready for that yet. Even when it came to Kevin, she was just a bit hesitant sometimes, even if she didn't say anything. With a sudden sigh and a look out in the direct that the red haired woman took Kevin off, she nodded. "I don't know if I am going to stay.." she said bluntly as they both turned. Logan moving to pick up the cacooned form of the woman. "I told you before Lo....Logan.." it was hard to call him by that name. "But this place...I just don't fit in. No matter how I try, I don't." her form was beginning to move slowly as they walked. She took stride beside him. He was a bit faster on account of the size difference but she kept up just as good.
Then came what she somehow needed to heard. Her head snapped towards him and she didn't seem so cold. No, instead she seemed curious and innocent. Her eyes a bit wide and the green pair staring at him. "He is?" a great amount of relief was going through her, flowing with such speed. And then the curious notion. " I don't like when he does that." she stated suddenly and matter of factly as she turned her gaze back ahead of her. " When he heals himself up, it makes me think of how many people didn't get that chance, to die and then live again."
She knew that Logan would question things, question her about leaving, try to persuade her to stay, he always did. Why did he care so much to try to keep her here? It was like keeping a wild beast caged in a prison and any moment they could strike out. " Maybe I could.." she eased up a bit finally.." But it might be hard...harder than it should be.." suddenly her eyes widdened a bit and she snapped her head towards him. Oh yes he did know her true name, a name she didn't use to often. A name she was still trying to keep her own little secret. Sarah called her that, those were the last words of her letter. "No one knows that name....I let them give me another one...I tried to hide some of myself."
The conversations trailed on, even if they were so slow and so unimportant seeming. When they arrived at the mansion, kids were staring at her and whispering. She was part of the hot gossip that spread like wild fire around here. And she could hear every word of it.."She clawed him.."..."What if she does it again?"...."They shouldn't let someone like her back in here"..." I don't feel safe."... She never raised a word to them at all, never even looked their way. Instead she remained silent and just stared at the floor as they walked. Following behind Logan to the elevators that lead to the sublevels. They talked about everything, Kevin coming back with Jean, Logan having something odd over his shoulder, and most of all her.
When they reached below, X found the familiar scent of someone she knew, Kevin was on one of the gurney's. She followed the scent quickly, taking off from the side of Logan and moving ahead. When she reached the med lab she saw Cessily sitting beside the frail and lifeless seeming body of Jamie. And then not far off was the body of Kevin. Frozen as it was before.Quickly she moved to his side and stared over him, trying to watch him closely for any sign. " He is doing fine?" her voice suddenly piped up to Dr. Grey. She awaited an answer as her head tilted slightly to the side, just watching him not move.
