It was hard for him. To know the feeling of death. What it was like to die. He understood why so many were afraid of it. Even he was at times. Times like now. Living among the dead. Dead feelings. Memories. People. It was cold, something no one should experience. He was a ghost. In life and presumed death. The kids at school had ignored him. Who wanted to hang around a kid who’s father died. Looked though and ignored. It had been his first high school experiences. Even when he first stepped through the doors. Then he met Cessily, Kevin, X. That trio were the closest things he had to friends.
To feel something dead inside someone else, he didn’t know how to handle it. He let himself fade away. Give into the black. That didn’t hide him from the dead, just the living. Jamie could feel things. He’d gone through walls before, but never people. And three in one day it made his mind race. He left them behind, X and Wolverine. There was still a connection but he tried to ignore it. A figure flashed before him, once more a woman in a white coat. Backing away he turned around. It was something from when X had passed through him.
Why did he have these powers. Why was he a mutant. His parents were normal, he should have been normal. Form stopped he was in a room. Someone was there with him. A man. James moved closer to where he felt the presence. Hand slowly reached out touching the shadowed form. Quickly he drew away then he heard Kevin’s voice. “It’ll be easier this way…” Jamie moved, he was in the mansion hospital. He could hear the dull beep of the machine he was attached too. Cessily was still sitting by his side. Then he saw Kevin. He was standing behind the doctor. “ That’s a selfish thing to say…”
Jamie moved closer to Kevin. His eyes looked straight at the boy as he walked through a chair. For some reason, James Hudson Jr was connected to death. He kills himself away as part of his powers. And the longer he stayed in this astral plane the more something inside him came to life. “Death is hard. Why people cling so tightly to the dead. Why they can’t let go…I don’t know what’s going on, Kevin. I don’t know why I’m stuck here…but you’re not supposed to be.” Jamie watched as X and Logan entered the room. The girl rushed straight to Kevin’s side, looking over him. Almost with a sense of worry. His eyes watched X a moment before he shifted standing next to Kevin. “There’s a man. He…he loves someone he can’t ever touch. The doctor. Something died in her too…she still carries it. And she … she needs a friend. Needs to learn trust.”
He looked away from X turning to face Kevin again. There was a sort of realization that started to sink in. Kevin, Kevin was the only one who’d seen him. Hands moved at his sides. “You have to tell them. I’m going to need a friend too. You have to tell them I’m not dead…You can’t be here.” James moved forward shoving Kevin hard in the chest with his hands. Eyes closed at the connection. There wasn’t a reaction from Kevin’s powers in this place, but Jamie could see something. Part of Kevin was dead too. Not physically, emotionally. “You have to go. You have to go back!”

Green orbs turned towards Jamie, his eyes narrowing-perhaps because of the small tear that welled in the corner of his eye… perhaps it was the fact he didn’t expect him back here, whatever it was, he stared. ”Selfish? No… it’s smart… I’ve hurt more than my share of people… I don’t need to hurt more.” He stood straight, cracking his neck and grinding his jaw.
“Death is hard. Why people cling so tightly to the dead. Why they can’t let go…I don’t know what’s going on, Kevin. I don’t know why I’m stuck here…but you’re not supposed to be.” [/b] He rose a brow as he listened to Jamie.. but for some reason, he made sense. Taking a breath he moved from behind Ms. Grey and turned towards X who sat looking weak, not like her usual self.
He stood behind her, " He is doing fine?" she questioned and he eyed himself… he looked gray like the people he touched just before they withered away. Eyes closed before he cracked his knuckles and put his hands on X’s shoulders… never could he do this again. Eyes closed as he sighed a sad sigh… he wanted to hold her close and tell her she’ll always be safe with him, that she doesn’t need to freak out all the time, that she can trust him to help her.
“There’s a man. He…he loves someone he can’t ever touch. The doctor. Something died in her too…she still carries it. And she … she needs a friend. Needs to learn trust.”[/b] He listened to Jamie, and sighed… there were a few people here that love someone they could never touch. Eyes went downcast as he looked to X again.
”In me… she needs a friend in me… she knows she can trust me…” leaning down he began to whisper ‘when you wish upon a star’ from Pinnochio into X’s ear before stepping back and looking to Jamie. Yet before he could say anything Jamie was freaking out.
“ You have to tell them. I’m going to need a friend too. You have to tell them I’m not dead…You can’t be here! You have to go. You have to go back!” [/b] He saw something in Jamie’s eyes, something that seemed to see through Kevin, but before he could question it, he was shoved back into his own body. A body who was blind and couldn’t talk. However, he forced open his tired eyes.
Nothing but dark cloudiness… nothing at all, but he could feel her there, and the cold steel underneath his body. “X…” he forced out of his numb lips as he seemed to look straight at X, but still he couldn’t see her.

“I’m sorry…Kevin.” He wasn’t sure if Kevin really understood, even he thought he was talking in riddles. But parts of it made sense. Kevin left the plane he fell back into his body. Stuck. Unlike Jamie. Kevin still had a tie with his body, Jamie felt connected to everyone else but himself. It seemed as if he’d shoved Kevin back just in time. There was a scream that echoed through the darkness. It ran a chill up him. “See, now was that so bad?”
Jamie jerked back when he saw the vision of the face. Dry, long ratted hair, like walking death. He could feel his heart racing. There was an evilness about that man he saw. Jamie’s body corresponded with his astral one. Monitor beeped loudly as heart rate quickened. He couldn’t see the man anymore, but the scream was still haunting. Jamie took a deep breath and turned. The woman in the white coat was in front of him. “Woah!”
He backed up and paused that feeling of passing through someone happened again. Eyes closed and he shook his head, moving backwards again. The connection was too long. She was looking at his file. But there was something…she was afraid they’d die. Him and Kevin. She was afraid of loosing them. Why? He wasn’t sure. Maybe she was a doctor and all doctor’s hated loosing a patient. But there was more. Eyes looked over to see the woman in the white coat. She started to fade away as his voice raised in question. “Wait…Who are you?” Once again Jamie was alone. With a sigh he moved standing between the two beds. The one with his body, and the other with Kevin's. Heart was slowly going back to a normal rythmic pulse. How long would he be stuck there?

She stared at his instensly. Trying to see any movement or sign of life. His face though it was grey, it looked like hers. It looked like Sarah's. She knew Jamie was alright well physically wise but Kevin she didn't know about. He looked like he was gone, like he wouldn't make it. Suddenly vision flew through her head, of the past of her old Sensai, or Sarah and now, he was close to that state too. She killed so many people in her short life and yet still a death close to her made her heart feel like it was being torn apart. And especially in her slightly weakened state, all her energies working to heal the stinging wounds, she couldn't help but let it out. She remembered Sarah's face then, and how similar they looked, so lifeless. The corner of her eyes were becoming watery and the tears were beginning to run down her face. But she didn't whimper, she didn't make a sound as they did, she didn't even move.
Suddenly she felt an odd sensation in her gut. The hair at the back of her neck began to tingle and stand on end. As did the small faint ones on her arms. Her head snapped up suddenly and she peered around. Towards the red haired doctor, towards Cessily who was watching her before averting her gaze back towards Jamie. Towards areas where no one even stood. Like a cat who saw a ghost she looked a bit shocked, but of course she couldn't see them.
And then a song popped into her head that was just interesting. Her head snapped around quickly this way and that, as she whispered softly. "Sarah..." She had only seen that movie once, the Disney movie of Pinnoccio and how the cricket sang that song. But she would remember it always. It was well one of the only movies she ever saw. Aside from one or two others.
Shaking her head gently she looked back down at the lifeless body of Kevin. Sighing deeply as she did. She was about to go talk to the red haired woman, about to see what was going on but something stopped her. The sudden opening of his eyes, and the sudden letter that meant alot. "X" Tilting her head she stared at him silently before looking back towards the Doctor woman. "He speaks." she said so monotonely it was hard to tell what she was thinking. The tears had all but dried away as she looked back down at him. "Kevin?" the quiet voice flew through the air towards him. Waiting for another sign of life.

At one point he told himself that he would never come back here. He did that alot. It seems that old habits die hard and once again he has stepped foot in the mansion. The building looked new and in many ways it was. He had been around for the reconstruction of this place on so many occaisions that as homely as it felt there was always an unfamiliarity. He stepped through the double doors into the mainhall dressed in a pair of khakis and a grey hoody and made his way down the hall. The world seemed to pause around him as he day dreamed about the old days, the first days, when Xavier's dream was in it's early stages and the weight of an entire species was placed on the shoulder's of a few teenagers with special abilities. Time had passed and the teenagers had grown into adults but the dream still remained although in some eyes it has been tainted by past events and new revelations. They had all been through so much and yet it always seemed like the beginning of something new. I guess that is what life was, a never-ending story. He personally would have prefered the DVD version as he always liked the option to fast forward through the sucky parts.
This chapter found him awaking from his day dream and making his way further into the hall. He had been called back not for a mission but more an assignment. It was obvious that with the schools enrollment growing and members dwindling the numbers were becoming overwhelming. He was asked to join the faculty and reluctantly he agreed. He never considered himself as the teaching type but it was almost a situation were he would have been honored to be selected to help had it not come across as though they were desperate. He himself wasn't uneducated, a degree in Accounting being part of his credentials, not to mention he was one of the founding team members of the X-men.
Robert "Bobby" Drake aka Iceman, known as the class clown in his day now he was expected to become a teacher.
How things change.
He expected a few familiar faces, mostly students that he recalled from his last stay at the mansion. He knew atleast Wolverine had remained. Why, he wasn't so sure but that was typical Logan. Do what he feels for his own reasons and screw anyone who has a problem with it. He had his positives, in a battle you would want him on your side. He sat his suitcase down and gazed over the empty area. Not that it was all too suprising but this was slightly different. The hall was dead silent but there was the strange feeling that he had just missed something. Call it intuition or just plain common sense but he had gained a few skills watching Logan all these years and one of them was noticing when your surroundings were too quiet. He didn't have the enhightened senses that the feral man had but when all else fails you have to go on your gut. Middle of the day and no kids around playing, converseing, the TV in the rec room was off.
Something was wrong. He made his way upstairs and knocked on a bedroom door. The door slowly opened and a young girl peeked out with tears running down her face.
"Why the sad face? What's going on?" he asked concerned.
The girl shrugged not as if there wasn't anything wrong but as if she was as clueless as I was. And then a voice answered from behind.
"Someone attacked Kevin and Ms. Grey told us to go to out rooms while she took him to the med-lab."
He turned to see a boy who seemed a bit more pissed than afraid and confused like the rest. He listened intently and nodded. He wasn't so sure who Kevin was but obviously he was a student. So Jean is here too... Not so much a suprise as a comfort. It would of been a relief to know that atleast he wouldn't need to go through awkward introductions. Of course she wasn't here and many of the students were staring at a man that obviously a few didn't recognized. A few students seemed frightened but curious and there were a few tears but probably from the previous events and alot of whispers.
He smiled. "Everything will be fine, I'm Bobby Drake you guys can call me Bobby... I guess I'll be teaching some of you in the near future. If Ms. Grey told you all to go to your rooms I'm pretty sure it was for a good reason. I'll be right outside and I promise that I'll give you guys an update once I figure out what the hell is going on around here."
A few seemed content and went back to their rooms but the boy who spoke earlier lingered. "I've heard of you, youre the guy that can turn into ice. What a joke of a power."
He quirked a brow as the temperature seemed to drop a few degrees. "Yeah, that's me. Question, ever drank a slushy too fast? Hurts like hell doesn't it? Well you can do one of two things... One, you can go to your room like the rest of the students. Two, you can see what a real brain freeze feels like."[/color]
The boy grumbled some but obviously he had no interest in testing him as he turned and went back to his room shutting the door behind him. He made his way back down the stairs and moved to take a seat. There was not much he could do in the meblab except get in the way his best move would be to wait it out and hope that no one was seriously injured. He would find out exactly what happened eventually.

Post by Logan: Weapon X: Wolverine on Nov 24, 2005 16:37:09 GMT -5
There was silence for a time as they walked before X had pipped up again. He knew she didn’t want to believe he had similar feelings. That he fought against going to the institute when he did. But it all changed his life. Every choice, every decision. “His powers? He’s a natural healer?” Logan looked over towards Laura, X, as they walked. His mind going over anything that had happened in the room. He didn’t know about the boys powers, but maybe Jean did. If she had a chance to read his file. Perhaps it wasn’t his healing factor at all…it could have just been blood he needed to start his own regeneration.
“But it might be hard…harder than it should be…” “I ain’t gonna lie to ya. Life’s tough. I know plenty of people who think they shouldn’t have been there. Me included. They all turned out all right…except maybe me. I’m still a bad ass.” The quick grin faded as he watched X’s face. So solemn. There was almost a holloness in her eyes. They entered the mansion and Weapon X could hear the whispers as well as she. The students muttering about X. Gray eyes shot towards a group of them, extending the claws on his left hand.
“Could have been anyone of you. Accidents happen. Why you’re here to lean how to control you’re your powers.” A few of the students still gawked at him. Logan never really had a good way with kids. Why part of him wasn’t sure about taking the job. But the school needed one thing someone who could train the kids in the Danger Room. He could only imagine how the Boyscout would have taught them. Head shook as he saw a few more lingering students. “Don’t you kids have homework to do or something?” The elevator doors opened after they reached the sublevels and X took off. He let her. Making sure to get the cocoon in one of the holding rooms. The pass-code on the door beeped as he entered, dropping the sack to the ground. The automatic lock behind him clicked. For a moment he thought.
Form entered the medical lab once again. There wasn’t any change in Jamie. And Kevin looked as if he was fading. A look he’d seen too many times to count. Turning away Logan stepped towards Jean his voice in a husky whisper. “What’s the news, doc?” Moving past her he opened up one of the cupboard doors pulling out a gray sweatshirt. His torn and ruined flannel shirt was removed. Eyes looked over wounds that were slowly healing. Fingers traced the lines. The poison was slowing the process. Pulling on the sweatshirt he turned around. There was life from Kevin and X was back at his side. And there was another figure in the hall. Bobby Drake. They’d met briefly when he had returned to the institute. Seems they’d both been called back. He could see Iceman as a teacher, if not a jokester as well. Just one more familiar face to Logan. And one more excuse to not have to deal with Scott Summers.

Some way or another he would make contact with his friend. Blinking a few times he finally stopped and stared straight at the girl. “X…” he said once more, forcing a smile and lifting his hand slowly. If he hadn’t felt pain before, he sure was feeling pain now. Wincing he put the thought of pain, although throbbing all over his body with that one slight movement, aside and went for her hand.
“I can’t… see.” He forced out once more before involuntarily blinking. Every movement in his body seemed to be forced and he felt rushes of pain. Squinting hard he felt a tear forced out before he took a deep breath. It even hurt him to breathe. He had never felt, outside of when it did happen, that he had been beat head to toe from nothing before…. God to him he felt as if death would be better.
“Jamie…” came a soft yet forced whisper from his lips, he needed to get to Jamie. Damnit why couldn’t he see. Everything he did was forced. What the hell did that woman do to him? He was confused and worried. “X?” he questioned again before looking for her hand once more, this time finding it… however he pulled back before touching her-where were his gloves?

Back and forth the doctor went. From the files; reading the more intricate details and notations that Hank had made and then to the prone boys. - One lying on a bed of cold metal; the other, in a heavy slumber from which his mind simply would not wake. In the case of Wither, she did all she could. With further analysis Jean could determine the nature of the toxin, and offer further aid. But for now what she was doing pertained to all types of deadly bites. She just hoped it wasn’t causing irreparable nerve damage as she struggled to keep him from going into anaphylactic shock. Already Jean had administered powerful antihistamines, Antivenin, and a heavy dose of muscle relaxants. She was glad that there were synthetic latex gloves between them; that treatment was possible. At first Jean was using her telekinetic gifts to administer drugs, insert a saline drip IV, but after finding out that Kevin could tough non-organic materials without causing harm, she took a more hands-on approach.
When it came to Jamie, she would occasionally look over to him with an almost quixotic gaze. Her eyes read over his file for what seemed the millionth time, and then returned to the blood sample on the glass slide. Again she typed. Open file: Logan >>Opening… Logan, alias Wolverine Her eyes read over the intimate details on Logan’s previous blood work, what she’d managed to map of his genome before shipping off to work with Wayne and Luthor. Her brow furrowed and she looked back to the microscope. Healing factor was a distinctive thing. Like a fingerprint. - Each case being unique in its manifestation, and manipulation of the white blood cells. Healing factor was something she’d only seen or read about in the rarest of cases. And most of the time it wasn’t a mutant’s primary gift. In the case of Jamie Hudson, There were distinctive similarities between his white blood cells and what she was reading in Wolverine’s file.
Her head tilted up at the hiss of the doors. " He is doing fine?" “What’s the news, doc?” She looked over to the pair. Both looked like they had been though a hailstorm. “If you’re referring to Kevin, I’m honestly not sure. Until I run more tests on the type of venom that he has been infected with I can’t be certain what kind of internal trauma has or has not been done. He’s running a high fever, any higher and he might have some brain damage, lungs are clean, free of mucus, airways aren’t swollen, his organs appear not to have begun cellular breakdown but it’s just going to take some time.”
As for Jamie, physically he’s fine, but according to his chart, it’s not his body that should be concerned with. At this Jean shot Wolverine a look that said ‘we need to talk’. Unbeknownst to Jean, at this point Jamie’s spirit walked though her corporeal form. Jean felt nothing, but in the astral plane, something woke up. – Something dark and malicious. He scratched at the intangible walls of his prison, and in the physical world Jean shuddered. A hand came to her forehead as the unexpected slice of pain bolted though her head. Nostrils flared slightly at the sharp intake of breath. She endured the momentary migraine but almost immediately it faded. Jean shook it off.
X..? I can’t… see. Jamie? X?” “You’re going to have to lie still. I’m Doctor Jean Grey and I’m here to help you. Jamie is right next to you, and I’m going to give you a pair of latex gloves if you want to hold X's hand.” As Dr. Grey pulled them onto his hands she continued, “Aside from your lack of vision, does anything else hurt, feel numb, tingle?” While she questioned him her hand fished out a small penlight. She flashed the bulb on and off, testing the reactivity of his pupils. “Is there any dryness in your mouth; an odd taste perhaps?”

There was only once where she had any sort of reaction when passing the students, when Weapon X spoke to them. It caused her eyes to glance towards him and a brow to raise. This was the second time that someone defended her against the gossip of school. The second time she tried to understand exactly why they would make the effort. The second time that she began to think twice about the people in this place, a place she felt so much out of place in. Part of her wanted to be back North, the other wanted to be South in California again, and then there was a small part who wanted to stay here. So far that part was winning.
When she rushed into the med lab she nodded at the words that this woman gave. She didn't understand some of it, well the technical terms anyways. She wasn't educated back at the facility about medical ways and how to help a person, she was taught about war, and combat and how to kill a person within fifteen seconds in combat. Of course she was always good at those lessons, perhaps thats why they all paid so much.
Her green gaze rose slowly from Kevin to stare over towards another lifeless body, Jamie's. Then up to Cessily who was sitting right beside him still and whose eyes adverted quickly X's direction. She noticed that the shiney girl had the boys hand in her own, and she wondered if that was a way to comfort people. She had done it one or twice without even a thought, and she saw it many times as well. Looking back down towards Kevin she was surprized to see him react in well a sort of life filled way. He smiled slightly anyways, and raised a hand into the air. She was about to take it as well but his hands they didn't have gloves. She remembered what happened last time he touched her skin with bare hands, and she didn't want to feel such again. She wasn't sure she'd be able to heal as quickly this time.
She couldn't help but tilt her head at his words. What did he mean he couldn't see? Did the evil woman blind him? She wasn't sure at all, and his words they just continued, about Jamie, calling her. But the doctor woman came to his side and was speaking to him. And when he reached for X, she pulled back suddenly, but only a slight bit. He must not realize he had no gloves on. "Yes" she said suddenly as if to show that she was indeed here. And that was all she said, for the woman continued on speaking. Putting gloves onto Kevin's hands with her own, X let her hand finally slide into his. She wondered if this whole comfort tactic would work and make him better.
"I must go...but I will return." came X's almost to calm monotone voice. Slowly she let go of Kevin's hand and walked from the room. Her stride stopping in the halls as she sniffed the air for a praticular scent. There were many but she managed to catch it. That woman in the cacoon. She followed the scent and made it to a door. A large silver one right on the same level. Such a cold level that reminded her of the past. She glared at the door a bit before it slide open giving her access to the area they held prisoners in. When she reached the cell block where the woman was taken she tried to open the door but she was not allowed. A pass code was needed. With a narrowing of her eyes she glared into the room. " Come out."

She noticed the lamp and stepped back into the room, stooping to put on her gauntlets. The last thing Noriko wanted was to deal with her X-Factor getting out of hand because she was too proud to wear her prosthetics. The last time she was reckless like that Professor Summers had her doing close to 2 weeks of detentionary exercises in the danger room. Clamps tightened about her biceps, and her hands flexed inside the metal gloves stiffly. Getting about day by day with them on was always a chore, but it was something the young mutant was getting used to. Almost as soon as her skin was enclosed, the smell of crisp ozone and sterility left the room. The tingle on the back of her neck went away. Warm brown eyes looked over to the winged boy still standing in her doorway.
Nori was about to make a polite excuse and shut the door when a flood wave of students began to stream into the dormitory and into their rooms. She peeked her head out, looking to and fro in tandem with Jay. “What in the name of run-tse duh FWO-tzoo...?” [merciful Buddha…?] She stepped out into the hall, looking back to Jay, “I’m gonna go figure out what the hell is going on, maybe grab a bite to eat. My stomach is reminding me how long ago seven fifteen AM was.” She nodded head in the direction of the stairs that he was free to follow her if he wished, and then without another word she bounded down into the main foyer.
Cutting to the right, Surge bypassed the wood-paneled main hallway and cut though the recreation room. Much to her surprise the place was desolate. No one was playing on the foosball table, the chairs were empty, even the TV was off. Probably a fight, she figured. It was usually the way the instructors handled the schoolyard stuff and it would explain the shouting she heard earlier. ‘better make this quick,’ Nori thought, entering the kitchen.

He had forgotten how empty this place could feel, the silence in the air almost unbearable. He was used to commotion, mainly because he was the cause of alot of it. His stomach broke the silence and he realized that he hadn't taken anything in since he left to come here and that was only a cup of coffee. He was starving. Luckily he was sitting in the kitchen and was waiting for a reason to raid the fridge. Standing to his feet he moved over to the fridge and opened the door relishing the cool air against his face. "Now, where do we start?" he said to himself as he reached in pulling out various items. Deli sliced turkey and swiss cheese, dijon mustard and some veggies. Also a can of coke from a frigde pack that must have just recently been added since it was still warm. Luckily that wasn't an issue for him.
Closing the frigde with his foot he moved the ingrediants back to the table setting them down before grabbing the bread from the holder on the counter. His mouth was salivating at his vision of the finished product a towering mass off meat and cheese with just the right garnish and a spicy kick to it. Opening the bread he pulled out two slices and closed the bag. Using the knife he spread a thin layer of mustard on both slices before beginning to layer the meat and cheese on top. Withing moments his creation was complete and after returning what he hadn't used back to the fridge he could finally sit down and answer his stomach's cries for nourishment. Just as he raised the sandwich to sink his teeth into he noticed a figure enter the kitchen and make a b-line for the frigde just as he had done moments ago.
Placing his sandwich down he focused on the figure and noticed it to be a young girl, well atleast in appearance which he knew could be deceiving. None the less a young girl, probably a student was making a fridge run after being previously told to remain in thier room. Perhaps she figured that everyone would be preoccupied with whatever's going on. He smirked as the scene was remincent to so many occaision that he had done the same if only just to sneak a midnight snack. No sense in standing here silent he thought as he parted his lips to speak other than to bite into his meal.
"You wanna piece? I could probably eat the whole thing but my folks taught me to always share."
Hopefully his sudden outburst didn't startle her too much. If she was a student and one that had issues controlling their abilities he could see a sudden scare not being a good idea. Oh well, what's that saying? "Live and learn?" That's as good a motto as any. Xavier seemed to share that motto on the field although it's hard to place it in such a real sense especially when so many lives were at stake. That was just it, Xavier did see the bigger picture and it was his belief in not so much Xavier but his ideals and dreams that had brought him back. He smiled, just having these thoughts were disorienting, back to the cute girl. ((Damnit Bobby, not even here a minute and already scoping chicks out. I get credit for the philisophical thought, right?))

A blue eyebrow perked up at the sight of someone else bending the rules; mores specifically someone she didn’t know. And boy howdy was he ever cute. She smiled a little shaking her head at the offer. “Thanks but I think I’ll manage,” Nori crossed the floor to the fridge, “from the looks of it I don’t even want to imagine what’s in that monstrosity you call a sandwich.” Before Professor Drake had time to protest, Noriko dashed to and fro, her mutation coming into full life as she made her way about the room fixing her food. Fingertips drummed as she waited (impatiently) for the microwave to ding and then again she was off in a flash grabbing up the bowl of rice and veggies.
Blowing a lock of blue hair from her eyes, the Asian mutant couldn’t help but show off a bit. She really was keen with her speed bursts and since this guy was new, or at least new to her, she was having her fun. As the passed by on the final burst, finding her way to a chair, she rumpled Bobby’s hair and then stole a potato chip from his plate, giggling lightly. Considering the crap-tastic tone of her day, this seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. No sign of the red-skinned mutant who had busted her buying drugs, not sign of the frigid ice-queen headmistress or her cycloptic counterpart.
She sat down with a ‘hulmp’ and then proceeded to dig in, pausing with chopsticks and a square of tofu inches from her face in response to the O of surprise on Bobby’s face. “What?” She chewed in a matter-of-fact manner, giving Bobby a look. “From the look on your face I’d pin you for a freshman. But…you’re not are you?” Again she smiled, realizing she’d forgotten a beverage. “Chikusho!” [Damnit!] Again she was up out of her chair rummaging though the fridge for a can of soda. Digits grabbed it up, but though her gauntlets she didn’t notice it was warm until… “Ugh!” Her chair pushed up and out as she went to grab a glass. As she opened the freezer, she looked back over to Drake. “Noriko Ashida… I’m on the New Mutants squad - Does no one fill the ice cube trays around here?!” Somewhat angry she set about filling them with water and setting them into the appliance.

Jay wasn’t sure what was going on. One moment he was trying to see how Nori was doing then the next the mansion seemed to change. Like something in the air. It prickled the hairs on the nape of his neck. Large umber wings spread for an instant before folding back. Like a bird who’s been sitting the same way on the branch in a cage for too long. Sometimes Jay wondered if they had a mind of their own. He was getting used to them. The weight was nothing, and the fell of flying. But there was a melodramatic ness to them. Perhaps why he chose the name Icarus.
“Nori…wait up.” His voice was a whispere, while he wasn’t sure why he was whispering it just felt like he should. There was almost a haunting feel about the Mansion. Something he hadn’t felt in a while. Jay’s sneakered feet moved against the ground as he followed after the blue haired mutant. She was just slightly faster, her mutation. Like some had to be watched. Like Professor Summers always having to wear the visor, Nori had the gauntlets.
“It’s sort of eerie feeling…don’t you think?” Jay froze in the door way, there was someone else there. Nori was bustling about and now stopped standing by the open freezer. A brow quirked as he looked towards the man sitting on at the counter. Something about him seemed almost familiar. He shrugged and entered the kitchen. Left wing twitched slightly before he stayed at rest and form leaned on the counter top. “I’m Jay. Jay Guthrie...New Mutant Squad too. Nice to meet you…” Jay’s hand extended towards the blond sitting in front of him, while he formed a smile from Nori’s complaint.

Logan knew that look in Jean’s eyes. The look of. ‘We need to talk’ and those usually never turned out well in the end. Then again when did those conversations ever go well. It was a conversation you knew was bound to have something bad attached to it. Wolverine might have thought it something about the boys. In part he was right. But nothing could have prepared him for what it was Jean was going to say. What she’d found out. About him. About the boy. Their blood. Reasons why his system didn’t reject the blood or go into shock.
Logan wasn’t a man of science though. He was a man of action. Except he’d been used as a science experiment. Eyes looked over to the form of Kevin, who was lying on a bed of metal. A brow rose in question as he looked towards Jean then back. “If you need a sample of venom I know two people who’d be more than happy to get some.” Head nodded towards X. He hadn’t seen her act this way before. With the hint of caring. It reminded him a lot like himself. It was going to be a long road for her. Hell, it had been one for him. And he was still on it. Like X Logan had trust issues, but he could almost sense a persons intent. But he was still rough around the edges.
“The coma?” But Jean stood still for a moment. Logan’s brows knitted as he moved. Hands came to her soft curved shoulders as he leaned forward slightly. Olfactory sensors were going off like mad. Bringing up memories of her smell. The perfume she wore, the slight musked hint of sweat. But like every other time in his life, the woman he loved was with someone else. “You ok?” Form straightened as she shook of what ever it was. Her attentions were drawn towards the boy on the metal bed. Kevin, was coming around. Speaking, searching for X, calling out question of Jamie. Weight shifted as Jean went into Doctor mode. Always the patient first.
“I’ll wait in the hall…” She’d come around when she was finished. When she made sure that both boys were stable. He couldn’t recall Cessily saying a word since they’d arrived. Poor girl, must have been shock. Arms folded against his chest as his back dropped against the glass window of the Med-Bay. Waiting was never a strong point for Wolverine, but he’d learned. Mind mulled over thoughts of Jean. Of their past. Past of the X-Men even. And then to questions. Why had he come back. Why did Emma find him, when there were plenty of others. Why hadn’t Jean told him about the attack, or about Bruce. Fingers rubbed stubble covered jaw before crossing his arms once more.

Cute was an understatement he thought as the girl declined his offer. Asian with blue hair, did he have to continue. He noticed the gauntlets on each hand and assumed that they must have been regulators for her abilities, kind of like Rogue's gloves perhaps. He himself had been forced to wear an inhibitor belt when his mutation became uncontrollable and he was freezing things left and right. She seemed comfortable with them so that's all that matters. His belt for a while was stylish but that lasted for about a month.
He was preparing to answer when she began to create her own meal all in the short time it took him to walk to the refridgerator. His mouth open as he hadn't even gotten the chance to lift his sandwich to his mouth and she had stolen a chip from his plate, ruffled his hair and sat down to eat her tofu, rice and veggies. "What?" she asked inquiring about his suprised look. “From the look on your face I’d pin you for a freshman. But…you’re not are you?” A freshman!? He was prepared to answer in rebutall but she was up once again and over to the fridge pulling out a can of soda and then sitting down, opening it, taking a sip all before she noticed that the beverage was still warm.
Once again she was up and after grabbing a glass she was in front of the freezer in search of ice for her warm drink. “Noriko Ashida… I’m on the New Mutants squad - Does no one fill the ice cube trays around here?!” He laughed at the irony in that satement and watched as she filled the trays with water. "So that's why they called me back here..." He placed his focus on the tray and the water quickly froze as if they had been sitting in the freezer for hours. "Nice to meet you, Noriko. Bobby Drake, I'm on the faculty squad." He smirked. "Now question, I was under the impression that Ms. Grey had regulated all of you to your rooms until further notice?" He chuckled as he really had no interest in calling her out except for his own amusement, especially since such was lacking at the moment. It seemed as though this new position had it's perks.
