Faith felt hollow inside. Ever since her awakening from the coma that was induced by that bleach blonde piece of shit Buffy Summers, the now rogue slayer filled that void with debauchery and villainous escapisms. She didn’t give a shit who she was hired to kill anymore, human or vampire, demon or child, so long as the price was right. At one time she thought of herself as the best, better then any other slayer, but that was before she staked a human, before Buffy had the satisfaction of seeing her make a mistake. But who really gives a shit about all this history crapola? Her dark coal eyes were shaded heavily with dark ‘goth’ styled makeup and her full lips rich with red glossy lipstick. She was not avoiding that ‘white bread’ town of Sunnydale and had transplanted herself to Los Angeles looking for work and a place to hide out from the cops as she was still wanted for murder.
Her heavy boots carried her to an expansive graveyard on the south side of town, and the constant rainfall pattered against her shiny black vinyl pants and had soaked though her red baby t-shirt so deeply that it’s hue was dark and moody. Her chestnut locks were soaked as well, conveying the water that ran down her back, neck, and cheeks in ribbons of inky black. Her head twisted to the left and her body followed suit. Her waterlogged locks slapped against her pale cheek, shoulder and bare bicep. She felt her lips curl into a devilish grin as she felt the pull of a vampire nearby. The shadows overtook her like a lover’s embrace, almost reaching out to cover her features with long fingertips of shadowy blackness. Even her eyes were obscured, the faint glimmer of twin black beads shining out dully as she stood still and opened her senses. Rainwater continued to pelt down over her and occasionally she would feel a drop hit her directly in the eye, but she shook her head lightly to remove the smog tainted water. She breathed a sigh as the twinge hit.
Turning on her heavy heel Faith resumed her pace in the direction toward the graveyard. She knew that the body was buried that afternoon, Wolfram and Hart had told her as much. It was to soon arise from it’s crypt in the need of blood, but it wasn’t the firm’s target… this was simply a test of her abilities; a trial run to see how she would perform against their real target. As her feet splashed though puddles she entered the graveyard. Swinging the wrought iron gate open, it screamed in protest but she was un-phased. With fists clenched Faith reached behind her back, grabbing the stake that was tucked into the backpack she wore. Raindrops had smeared her mascara and eye makeup into dark raccoon circles, giving her as much of a psychotic look as the undead she hunted. “Mmm… I can almost feel my libido now.” She murmured to herself.
Faith ducked in and out of stones until she spotted the fresh brown earth of a newly filled plot. Her boots sank into the wet earth here and there clawing away scraps of grass with their thick treads. Flexing on her right knee, Faith saw movement from the shadowy plot . The grave was dug out from the inside, the lid coffin destroyed. Impressively the lid was made of metal and she wondered if perhaps this vampire might actually prove a challenge to her. Pressing back against the trunk of a tree, Faith waited. Her hair was dripping into her eyes, and across her high glossed lips, washing away the hour and a half of prep time in the bathroom. She gripped the stake harder, feeling the splinters dig into her palm. The brunette heard footfalls… he was near.
This place stank of death and putrid earth… her bare hands gripped the stake harder as water squelched under her palm against the length of wood. This was just the place for a rogue slayer like her. No more stalking around Sunnydale with the ‘Scooby Gang’, no more kissing the ass of that stuffy English poofta Giles, and no more dealing with the double-sided-dildo witches. She was on her own and loving every second. Her breath was as controlled as she could manage, although the sensation of menstrual cramps was already working over her abdomen, and she could feel her pheromones surging in response. She could barely keep from leaping out and simply running the vampire down, as he fled or foolishly tried to bite her. The snap of a twig under a boot and a tightening of her uterus and Faith sidestepped out from the tree, her stake already in mid swing.
Faith felt/sensed the fist coming toward her face and she quickly grabbed it with her free hand and instead of pivoting to the side as one normally would to avoid that kind of blow, Faith used the undead bloodsucker’s arm as a line to draw them closer. Her head slammed forward abruptly as she tightened her jaw and bore her teeth into an animalistic grimace of satisfied PMS fueled aggression. This was all wrong… his skin was warm his breath smelled like flesh and not the grave. It was all happening too fast, her attempt to head-butt him was either going to happen or it wasn’t there wasn’t time to react any differently. The crack of skull against skull and her coal hewn eyes widen in shock! He was no fucking vampire. This guy was a normal dude! Her inner psyche had time to take her down that downward spiral of mixed emotions as she saw a trickle of his blood seep down his eyebrow, mixing with the rain. Once again she saw it… crimson human blood spilled by her hands. Her string of lucid thought was shattered for the time being.
As she was trying to take it all in from behind the man she’d hit the vampire appeared. He was no fledgling. The fresh grave had been a set up. The vampire sneered, thrusting her abandoned stake though the mortal’s back straight though his heart. As he fell to his death, clutching his chest Faith snapped back into gear, immediately attacking the fanged immortal. Every blow was fueled by angry words echoing her mind. ‘You’re a weak, pathetic… faker. Just another blood bag that thinks she’s a slayer. Who are you kidding Faith? You haven’t got what it takes to be half of what Buffy was…’ Her body flipped and as she rolled she kicked the human over, grabbed the stake from his torso, and then threw it toward the vampire who had boastfully thought everything was going his way. He internally burst into a mist of ashes with a scream of protest and Faith breathed a sigh of relief.#nosmileys#nosmileys

Faith was walking away quickly, her form turning around the corner of the block as she lengthened her distance between the body and the ashes of the vampire. She reached her arm out to hail a cab. “Taxi!” she shouted. The yellow car passed her without slowing bust she was used to being treated as though she was invisible. She started to walk, pausing only to continue to wave her arm at the passing cabs. The rogue slayer finally managed to hail a cab and as she slid across the seat, she could feel the stark contrast between the rainy outside and the stuffy interior as her cheeks began to flush. A hollow expression met with the driver and in that moment the driver had already judged her.
In this neighborhood, - her clothes muddy and rain-soaked, makeup smeared into dark circles about her eyes as her fingers pressed against an abrasion on her elbow - the driver thought she was a victim of some gang bang or a date rape, and Faith was more then willing to play off the sympathy that would come of it. ‘Damn it that was sloppy work Faith. You know better then to expose yourself like that. Christ another screw up like that and it could ruin everything in one foul swoop! Next thing I know Buffy is going to be over here trying to put me back into a fucking coma…’ She glanced up out the window as the cab began to pull away. “…somewhere…lady?” she caught the last past of what the cabbie was saying as she blinked back her own thoughts. “Huh?” “Can I take you somewhere, lady? You look like you’ve had a rough night… do you have a place to stay?” Faith shook her head. “Wolfram & Hart.” She muttered. The cab driver flipped his ticker and turned the bend blending with the expressway traffic.
Faith was walking into the main offices of Wolfram & Hart looking very much like a drowned rat. She passed by the shamans that stood constant guard at the vestibule and neared the bank of elevators. Punching the up button with a clear glossed fingertip, Faith waited impatiently for the brass doors to part. She barely gave them room to full open and already she was inside. The elevator was quick, and the drop in her stomach told her that she was ascending at well over 30 miles per hour. The businesslike ding of the bell and she exited unceremoniously. She passed several lawyers here and there, each giving her some kind of once over glance, but the looks of a bedraggled woman in this place was child’s play compared to the daily day-to-day. Dark eyes scanned the office as she pushed the doors wide. “The Target has been eliminated, but I would have appreciated a little forewarning.” Holland turned in his chair and sized up the slayer, “what do you mean Faith… and mind the carpet… your tracking mud everywhere.” Faith slammed her fist atop his mahogany desk and leaned in on both of her arms. “I MEAN that if you were trying to see if I was full of bullshit and couldn’t handle the job! – I watched him kill a man! DO you realize I’m wanted for murder?” The fighter and the lawyer eyed each other up weighing up the situation.
Holland Manners was the Vice President of Special Projects, and currently his special little project was none other then the new vampire in town, Angel. With the help of his staff members, Lindsey McDonald and Lilah Morgan, Mr. Manners is confident that the brash conscience cursed vampire will soon be a little less then a pile of ashes. “But the job was finished was it not?” he asked as an afterthought. Begrudgingly she clenched her teeth and gave him a deadly glare but said nothing. Her silence spoke volumes. “I can assure you Faith,” he said as he folded his hands atop the blotter. “We wouldn’t dream of compromising your freedom before the deal is done. You DO want your freedom don’t you? We offered that and a hefty severance bonus upon the death of one, simple, vampire. What am I supposed to tell the board about this? That vampire you were asked to slay this evening should have been a cakewalk… and yet my surveillance teams tells me that you almost allowed the death of a man to slow you down? I do not accept failure Faith. So I’m asking you, what reassurance do I have that you won’t hesitate when it comes to taking on Angel? ”
She lifted her weight from his desk and controlled her emotions, her nose flaring a bit with the sharp intake of breath. “I know what it's like to take a life. To feel a future, a world of possibilities, snuffed out by your own hand. I know the power in it, the exhilaration. It was a drug for me.... To kill without remorse is to feel like a God... So don’t you DARE tell me that I don’t have what it takes? I’ll do my job, plain as that. And then I walk." Faith exited the offices in a huff as she heard Holland’s words over her shoulder, “We’re just out for a profit. Fail us and that price will be paid somehow.” She closed the door behind her after retorting, “It won’t be a problem…sir.” She rode in silence back down to the lobby, passing the pair of mind-readers that the law firm always kept to randomly screen their clients and lawyers. She ran her cold hands though her equally cold and wet hair and shot them a hollow paranoid expression. ‘Just keep it cool. You’re here for a job, and only that… no thoughts that would make them suspicious now… besides you’ve been asleep for months and months, anything you might think of would be ancient history right?’ She finally made her way out of the building and back out onto the street, allowing a heavy sigh to work out of her. So right what was the plan again? Oh yes… time for some recon work. Faith pivoted to her right and walked toward the offices of Angel Investigations.

Angel Investigations a small cluttered office that looked as equally grimy. Currently there were only three on the staff, if you could even call it that. Angel taking the lead after all his name was on the door wasn’t it. “Cordillia…” he grumbled thumbing through the stack of bills piling up on his desk. If she would spend more effort helping him run the office than she did shopping or spending the money they didn’t have things would be running more smoothly. They’d been running out of this office now for a while, still it looked like a disaster. And when ever the phone did ring he could never find it.
Dark brows narrowed as he shook his head, running a hand through his slightly spiked dark hair. Sometimes Cordy was more hassle to work with than she was worth. She and Doyle had one earlier that they went to check out while he attended other business and he ended up being the first one back. Dropping into his desk chair he scowled pulling up a note that had been left for him. Random details about what Doyle had seen. Graveyard and a struggle with a vampire. He hadn’t heard from them, maybe it was time for him to go check out. In Cordillia’s handwriting was the name of the graveyard. Well at least he didn’t have to worry about the sun right. Night was a better time to work anyway, not only given the fact that he was a vampire.
The rain outside seemed to fit his brooding. It seemed as though memories of Sunnydale kept coming back after him. Cordy coming to Los Angeles to try and become a star, word of Buffy. Little did he know another face of Sunnydale was going to stir up old memories. Pulling on his leather jacket he started to move turning off the lights in the office. He’d been starting to lock the door when something brought up in instincts. Turning the flaps of the leather jacket moved with him while hand shot out gripping the throat of the woman. It had been Angelus then, his inner demon, his vampire self. It was his first reaction to the realization she was there in the shadows until he gained control again. “…Faith...” his deep voice held a shocked questioning, before he released her throat as eyes scanned her hands to make sure she wasn’t here to try and slay him again.

The basement office was more of a converted apartment. As she sat across the street on a bench in the tiny park her coal eyes watched the flicker of movement within. She didn’t need her slayer skills to recognize the tall foreboding figure of the man born to the name of Liam. He wasn’t a face one simply forgot. With a strong sturdy shoulder and torso, a figure of six foot two, and a pair of the most expressive eyes she’d ever beheld, Faith guessed the same fascination toward Angel could be said for most of the women in his life. She’d visited his grave during her slayer training in Europe. He was twenty six when he died, the stone simply reading, ‘1727 – 1753, beloved son’. Had it not been for the watchers (most specifically Wesley Pryce) she would have never found its location, the graveyard was so overgrown.
But the vampire who arose from that grave was not the same one whom she was watching. He was Angelus; a vampire who coined the phrase ‘afraid of the dark’ after plaguing humanity for a hundred and forty five years until he chose the wrong victim and was cursed with a soul. Faith tried to summon Angelus once before, but Angel was too clever for her. He’d simply pretended to allow his darker self to take over and used her for information. He’d used her, just like all the others. It was why he deserved to die almost as much as she did. Vampire or human, most people with self-imposed positions of authority thought themselves special and beyond the rules. It was why the watchers wanted her dead, why the police wanted her for murder, and why Angel would never trust her. It was life’s little ironical twists that never ceased to surprise her. One monster would be destroyed, only to have a new incarnation of evil supercede its place. The rogue Slayer wondered if her own soul could grow any blacker.
Soundlessly she pushed up from the bench as his shadow shifted out of her view. She crouched at the side of the building her hands resting atop her vinyl coated knees as she perched on the sidewalk and stared down into the warehouse-style office. Faith leaned a little to the left trying to see where Angel had disappeared to when she heard the key turn in the lock. She was on her feet and about to leave when suddenly his hand was clamped about her throat. Open hands reacted without second guessing. It was more than reflex, it was conditioning… The butt of her right hand pushed at Angel’s forearm as her left took hold of the ornate cross about her neck. Before she had a chance to press it onto his skin he had released her. Faith released a tense puff of air and dropped the Celtic cross, her hands held up defensively as she backed a few steps. “With warm receptions like these it’s a wonder why I never visit.”
It was clear that Faith had been though a lot that evening. Dirt was under her nails and between the tread of her boots. Her hair was matted to her head from the constant downpour of smog-tainted rainwater. What remained of her makeup gave her eyes a smokey hollow stare, and she was shaking from the exposure to the weather and the heightened experience of seeing two vampires in one night. ‘Better play this one differently Faith. He knows your usual is to just hit him dead on. He expects you to take what you want sans the melodrama. Just cool it and play things nice...’ She assured herself.#nosmileys

Fred dropped into a defensive crouch, her back against the cave wall. Three guards advanced on her, their swords drawn. She was terrified, certain that her end had come. The one on her right reached out and grabbed her, holding tight to her wrist. He began to drag her away from the cave wall and her survival instinct kicked in. She began to scream and fight against him, not feeling his fingers dig deeper into her flesh. The other two guards were trying to get a hold of her and suddenly everything was gone and she was falling.
She landed hard in a pool of mud, cracking her knees and elbows on a wooden box. A red wave of pain washed over her and she curled into an agonized ball, crying helplessly. It took close to ten minutes for the hysteria to subside and when the pain finally receded and she could move, she sat up, realizing she was sitting on a coffin. Rain poured down on her from a black sky and she looked upward, blinking in bewilderment. Breathing hard, she got to her feet, not feeling the splinters of wood digging into the soles of her bare feet.
Fred could hear voices, but they were too far away for her to distinguish male or female and what they were saying. Fear took hold again and she looked around frantically for a way out of the deep, muddy pit she was in. She began to try to claw her way out of it.
“Oh come on Cordelia, it’s not like the big guy has us dismemberin’ another one of those displacer beasts again…”
“No, but I have had my fair share of the big creepy cemeteries after being in Sunnydale thank you very much, besides, it’s disgusting in there… and… and these shoes are Ralph Lauren.”
The pair sized up the cemetery. Cordelia was right. It was far from inviting. Shrugging, Doyle walked into the cemetery, his boots sinking into mud. He moved carefully and didn’t have far to go when he came upon a fresh grave. Something moved and he took an involuntarily step back. “Jaysus Mary and Joseph!”
Over the din of the steady down pour, he could hear someone talking. Edging closer, he could see a pale white hand clutching at the muddy earth around the rim of the grave. Crouching, he strained to see beyond the hand and heard someone pleading for help. Against his better judgment, he reached out and grabbed the hand by the wrist, dragging an exhausted, terrified Fred from the grave.

“Call it a survival instinct.” He growled slightly towards Faith’s sarcasm. Last time he’d seen her she was trying to kill him. Angelus hadn’t gone easy on her either or her him. His dark eyes studied her waiting and watching wondering what she was up to. “Why are you in LA, Faith…I thought you were…” but his sentence trailed off, she knew what he was going to say.
Shifting he smoothed his jacket still watching the slayer. Noticing the dirt, the wet of her clothing and makeup smeared slightly, she’d been in a fight. Weight shifted as he moved again making sure the door was locked before turning back to her. “Doing some dirty work again, I see.” Turning he started down the hall.
She brought back memories of Sunnydale, it was bad enough with Cordy to have Faith now show up. Especially when he would have thought she’d be somewhere else. But he had to keep his guard up she was after something what It was he wasn’t quite sure. “Did you come for help or to kill me? Cause I’m not sure I like either of those options…besides I’m late meeting up with Doyle and Cordelia.”
“Off on that big coma in the clouds? – It’s no biggie Angel babe, I think I’ve slept long enough for one lifetime don’t you? It’s about time I took up the old lie… I mean life.” She chuckled at her little joke about being the ever-unwanted slayer. “You can thank your little Buffy for me being here. Though I must admit, it’s nice to be back in my own skin. Her tight little body just couldn’t handle the workout I gave it, must be a blonde thing. – Funny though, I never thought it was natural, guess a girl can’t be right all the time.” Faith was of course referring to the short while that she and Buffy Summers body swapped. It was the way she’d been freed from her sleeping prison.
“L.A.?” she repeated the name as if it was a foreign word. “Thought you knew your slayers Angel. This was my town first. I grew up here. Figured it was about time I came back to the basics. After all the watchers want me back in London, and I could bear to stand THAT bore for oh about twenty minutes before I decide to shoot myself in the head. So by my best guess I think fate owes me one. But… old habits die hard I guess.” She looked down at her state of being, sharing the sentiment that yes, she had been in fact out slaying the undead that evening.
“Gee… and here I thought this was a place for helping the helpless… talk about your false advertising.” She said with a shake of her waterlogged tresses. Reaching into the back pocket of her leather pants Faith pulled a small white business card flicking it to the floor in front of Angel’s feet. “Looks like this out of work slayer is gonna have to go solo.” She turned to leave, her tenor saddened and graveled. “Thank for the vote of confidence Angel, I’ll be sure to remember it later.” Her words were intended to hit below the belt, to make him understand that he was treating her the same way they all did. Like a rabid dog that should have been put down at the moment of ill conception. #nosmileys

His head nodded towards her. “Don’t bring her up.” He commented simply from the last he heard, Buffy was around Spike and that didn’t sit well with him, never would either. He studied her once again. He knew about the coma, he’d seen her once while she was in it, just lying there. With a sigh he moved again.
His better judgement would have told him to keep going but he didn’t. “Your not exactly ‘helpless’ Faith. As I recall you gave me a good run for my money…not to mention any other undead that crosses your path.” Stooping he picked up her card and looked back up to her as she spoke. It was a low blow but it was enough for him to reconsider.
It was the whole trying to obtain his mortality to be free that made him change his mind. The Anguls side of him however could have tortured her for the pain and what he got out of it. “Faith wait.” He called after her and moved up beside her as she stopped. “Can you blame me? It’s a bit hard to just forget the past with everything that’s happened.”
His hand motioned out before him “Up for a walk? I wouldn’t be surprised if Cordy and Doyle had found themselves in some sort of trouble.” Maybe it was that old saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. And right now he was trying to decide which one Faith was, all the more reason to keep her closer.

Fred struggled against Doyle’s hand, nearly toppling back into the hole. He gained a better grip on her upper arm and pulled her away from the edge. “Take it easy! I’m not gonna bloody hurt you!”
But she wasn’t listening. Her survival instinct was still in over drive, her over taxed mind not comprehending that she was home, that she was safe. She got loose from Doyle and bolted across the cemetery, cracking her shin on a grave stone as she ran. She sprawled on her face, a sickening bolt of pain nearly making her retch. Glancing behind her, Fred saw Doyle coming toward her. “GET AWAY FROM ME!” she screamed and scrambled to her feet, limping badly. Even injured, she was still moving fast.
“Cordi! Look out!” Doyle yelled, watching as Fred barreled toward Cordelia, who was studying her nails under a street light. He cringed as they collided with a vicious crack of bone on bone. It echoed through the night and they both went down in an immobile heap. “Shite,” he muttered, running over to the bodies.
Cordelia was underneath Fred, a hand pressed to her eye. There was blood on her sweater and Doyle could see it on her face. She glared at him with her good eye. “Get this icky, muddy, gross person off of me right now, Doyle!”
Reaching down, Doyle gently turned Fred over and he could see that she was out cold. Her pale, pretty face was streaked with mud and rain water, a huge welt developing under her right eye from where she had knocked heads with Cordelia. He gave Cordelia a grim look. “We need to get her some shelter.”
Cordelia was sitting up, surveying the damage to her outfit. “We need to get some Wool-Lite or this sweater will be ruined! It's cashmere!" Glancing at Fred, she took note of the rough clothing she wore and frowned. "Native American was so last year!"

With a small sigh she took her hand off the wheel for one moment to run a hand into amber tresses. The red-headed witch watched as the street signs passed. She'd left Sunnydale. Her friends, even if it was for a short trip. She needed to get away. She had to. Power had gone to her head. It wasn't something she was proud of. In fact part of her regretted it. Regretted being overcome by such desires. If it hadn't been for her friends, she might have lost it all. And ruined more lives. Even after the year in England, working with a Coven of Witches and Giles. She still felt like she needed time. Time away from it all. The past. So that's why she was heading to Los Angeles. One would have though she'd go somewhere quieter, but she chose L.A. And she knew if she needed support, there were faces there she knew.
Pulling off on the next exit she stopped for gas and went inside to ask directions. Get some coffee or a red bull, she hadn't decided. Maybe some chips and candy to snack on while she drove. Buffy had called her twice since leaving Sunnydale, making sure she was all right. Was making the right choice. But the Slayer had other things on her hand to deal with, and a new Vampire love interest. Spike. Willow didn't quite see what the attraction was to Vampires, especially when she was supposed to be a 'Vampire Slayer'. Then again, she didn't have much room to talk. She fell in love with a Werewolf.
"So, just stay on the 405 North, and exit Right on Wilshire?" "That's right...so what ya goin' to Hollywood...got some dream of bein' a star?" "Uh, heh...No. Uhm, just a change of pace. I-I gotta go. Thanks."
Willow had blushed slightly at the comment. Here an actress? Yeah, right. She could barely talk around guys she liked. How would she ever been able to talk to good looking movie star types? No, thank you. The rest of her trip she caught the rain, and whippers swished back and forth. Slowly as she got closer to L.A. the rain slowed, then stopped. But roads were still slick, and night took over. Though the bright city lights didn't make it seem so dark. Exiting on Wilshire like the man said she stopped at a red light on Veteran. Casually she glanced around here, then eyes widened.
Standing in some light was a girl. A girl who seemed very familiar. Squinting her eyes she blinked. Cordelia? When the light turned green she pulled over. She had to. She had to know. Or else she would have kicked herself. Getting out she ran across the street, a few cars honking at her as she did so. 'Sorry' was mouth to a man who shook his fist, and as she neared she could hear voices. Then a girl came rushing out of the Cemetery there crashing into the one she'd seen.
"Cordi! Look out!" "Get this icky, muddy, gross person off me right now, Doyle!"
Moving slowly closer the group started to come into better view, and light for the witch. Lips parted in shock. It was Cordelia. Their voices were becoming more clear. The girl she'd seen running seemed to be out cold. And the man, Doyle, was trying to situate her.
"We need to get her some shelter." "We need to get some Wool-Lite or this sweater will be ruined! It's cashmere! Native American was so last year." "Cordelia?"
Her voice came timidly, softly almost as she stopped close to them. Standing barely in the glow of light from another street lamp.Willow hadn't half expected the girl to remember her. Cordelia was one of those girls that most dubbed 'The Bitch of Sunnydale', and that's just what she was. Always into fashion. Herself. And looking down on those less fortunate than her. Silently she stood there watching...

Something whelmed in her being that brought her to this overly crowded town. “My my Miss Edith, looks like mummy is going to be quite the full vampire tonight…” her voice was an eerily calm whisper as she spoke to her doll. Swaying slightly, she walked down the streets of the lower east side of LA. “Dirty towns… dirty people….” A slight pout was all she accomplished before a car pulled to the side of the road.
“Hey Sweetie, I’m lookin for a good time… how bout you?”
The bald headed man spoke out of an 86 olds and Dru merely sneered at the condition of the navy blue car. “I’m looking for a meal… I’m quite the famished girl…” a coy provocative smile proceeded to play upon her lips as she bent down to the passenger side window.
“Well beautiful, I can feed you for a while… come on in, hop in and I’ll take you for a ride, if you take me for one.” His grunt of a laugh was enough to make any woman hurl… and the sweat that seemed to pour from his pores was sickeningly potent to a vampire.
“Mmm I bet you could… let’s go Miss Edith, Mister says he can feed us…” the only thing she did as her body slipped into the car, was grin. He had no clue what he was getting into.
“Ohh… so you’re one of the types that likes to play with toys… well I got toys…” She only grinned as he moved his boat of a car. “So Princess… where you from…”
“Everywhere…” Her eyes scanned to the moon, before it was taken over by clouds which filled the night with rain. “Spike used to drive me around like this…” her eyes flashed towards him. “I’m hungry…”
“No no no, princess, you gotta do the deed, before you can get your meal…” Smirking he glanced towards her. “ Got it?”
She merely nodded before moving towards him, kissing his neck softly. Tongue running over the sweat that beaded his rolls of a neck. “Oh… I got it….” she mused before her face changed. No longer was she the beauty he had picked up, no she was a creature of the night, a vampire. “Miss Edith and I are hungry…” she cooed before her mouth opened wide and her teeth sunk into his tender flesh.
Hands flew towards the steering wheel as he swerved in and out of traffic. Pulling to the side, his car stopped.
Her body hugged tightly to his as she drank from his fountain. Hands grasping his head as she tilted it just right so she would get as much as she could. The feeding only lasted a few minutes… but by then she was full. “I’m full… now to find Daddy…” she whispered before getting out of the car and popping the umbrella she found in his car.
Clad in a black skirt and a red shirt… her right arm held on to Miss Edith tightly, while the other arm held onto the umbrella. Licking her lips as her face quickly changed back to her human looks, she grinned. “My, you were right… He was a tasty morsel…”

There was a war going on. While most would spend a majority of their lives oblivious to this fact there were a few that knew first hand the dangers that lurked in the darkness. Charles Gunn was one of those few. There would be more to realize what he already knew before the problem was solved. The problem was a majority of those would find this truth out one way or another in death. He was determined to fight and win this war, that’s all he knew. He had been fighting all his life. Whether it be blood sucking vampire, drug dealer or dirty cop anyone that threatened his existence or that of those that he cared about was considered an enemy. Alas every war has its casualties and innocents were usually the ones who suffered. His sister was one of those casualties and one of those innocents. Her loss would haunt him for the remainder of his life. She was turned into a vampire and became the enemy leaving him no choice but to vanquish her.
All of this because light and darkness couldn’t coexist without violence and bloodshed. He didn’t care about any balance between the forces of good and evil, all he knew was that he wanted to survive. No. He would survive. There was strength in numbers and he had brought together others in his hood to join him in the fight. Vampires were inhumanly fast and strong but they had their weaknesses. The main being the fact that sunlight and or a stake to the heart and they were dust. There had been rumors of people disappearing near the local cemetery and while the police and most had chalked it up to a mere college prank he knew better. Earlier that day he had collected five of his best members. People that he knew would stay by his side and not run at the first sign of trouble. Dressed in all black he waited till dusk and then they made their move. They hid among the headstones taking full advantage of the overcast skies as the darkness cloaked them. It looked like rain.
An hour or so passed and finally they noticed someone or something for that matter. A figure was moving through the cemetery and disappearing into a mausoleum. “Alright, let’s go.” He spoke to the others and they followed him to the entrance of the tomb. He was armed with a crossbow and a broad sword while others felt comfortable with more conventional weapons. His weapons may have been more on the medieval side but they would get the job done. Opening the tombs entrance they slipped in and shut the door behind them. The inside was dimly lit by torches but besides the coffin it was empty. “Maybe the blood sucker is hiding in his coffin.” The man opened the lid while the others covered him and Gunn watched his crossbow aimed to kill. “Be careful.” He said as the lid hit the ground with a thud revealing an empty casket. “Where did he go?” Gunn wondered as he examined the back of the tomb. One of the stones seemed loose and with a push a secret passage was opened. “Well, that explains where he went. Follow me.”
He made his way through the hidden entrance as the others followed. Their movement seemed to take them underground and they soon found themselves at a fork in the tunnel. He didn’t want to separate but there was no room to speculate which tunnel the creature used. “Ok, you three take the right; me and Joe will take the left. The three nodded and made there way into the dimly lit tunnel leaving Gunn and Joe to take the other tunnel. As they moved forward it became obvious by the rattling of Joe’s weapon that he was nervous or scared, probably both. “Why are we risking our lives?” Joe asked. Gunn raised a brow, “What the hell kind of question is that? Those blood suckers killed your mother or have you forgotten.” Joe lowered his head, “I don’t think my mother would have wanted me on some vengeful trip, man. I know you have this vendetta against these things after what happened to Alonna but you can’t dwell in the past.” Gunn clenched his fist and grabbed Joe by his shirt pushing him up against the wall. “Don’t you ever talk to me about dwelling; all I have is my past and my present. I don’t have a future. The more of these things I can take out the better.”
It was then that the blood curdling screams of their friends were heard. Gunn turned towards the path from whence they came. “The others are in trouble.” Joe pushed away from the man and took off running. “I don’t care; I’m getting out of here.” Gunn picked himself off the ground. “Joe, wait!” He shook his head and took off after him but before he reached the fork he heard shots rang out and Joe’s screams. Gunn finally stepped out into the open area to find his friend Joe lying on the ground. “Joe are you alright?” He checked on his friend only to be grabbed and thrown across the small room. “Actually, I’ve never been better.” The man’s face shifted into a demonic form. He had been changed. “Why didn’t you tell me how great this felt? Then again you wouldn’t have known, would you?” his voice had become as demonic as his facial features and he stalked the around eyeing his prey. Gunn attempted to get up but his shoulder had been injured from the impact of hitting the wall. Sitting up he listened all the while eyeing his crossbow which was a few feet away. He lunged and reached for his crossbow but Joe got there just as he grabbed the weapon. Joe the grinded his boot into his shoulder forcing a grimace of pain from the man.
“Nice try, Gunn but don’t look so glum. You said it yourself, you have no future.” Joe lowered himself face to face with Gunn and licked his lips. “Any last word, buddy?” Gunn clenched his teeth and spoke, “Say hi to your momma for me?” The creature’s eyes widened as Gunn’s free hand gripped a stake that he kept on his waist and plunged it into the Joe’s heart. Instantly his former friend was dust leaving Gunn inhaling trying to catch his breath as well as ignore the pain in his shoulder. Pulling himself to his feet he pondered making his way down the other tunnel. If Joe had been turned it was quite likely that his other friends had shared the same fate. The fact of the matter was that he couldn’t take them all on alone. Luckily for him he knew someone that could help him. If you could consider having to ask a vampire for help in killing a bunch of vampires lucky. Making his way out of the mausoleum the way he came in he noticed that it had started raining. The droplets of water felt good against his bald head and it almost made him forget about his shoulder. He continued to make his way through the cemetery until he ironically found himself face to face with the vampire with a soul and the rogue slayer. “Just the person I was looking for. Only you would take a midnight stroll through a graveyard in the rain.”

Black tresses dripped water into the floor and up the stairs as she stormed back outside into the gale. She halted with reluctance at the pleading words from Angel and slowly she turned. “Cordelia? Christ they’ll let anyone move here huh? Sure a walk in the rain never killed anyone right?”
Faith winked, her full lips pursing as the quirked a brow. For a long while afterward she didn’t speak. Her senses studied the vampire as they usually did. He appeared to breathe but she knew it wasn’t necessary. When a vampire drew his breath it was mere muscle memory, not need. Another sign was that he did not put forth any heat. A normal human might chalk this up to the in climate weather, but she knew better. His flesh was only warm after feeding; otherwise he was as cold as ice. She wondered if the same could be said when he was fucking.
At once her attentions were drawn away by an aggressive fellow with a very handsome face. Apparently he knew Angel and had also been searching for him. She took a few moments to look over what he carried, and at the sight of all the vampire slaying gear she wondered if Wolfram & Hart had double booked his assassination without her knowledge.

He could tell Faith was watching him studying him it was just something she did. just like he did, watched and listened trying to make sense of why she was really here, what she really wanted from him. "It is LA. Cordy wants to be some actress." His brooding glance was cast towards her as chest rose and fell with involuntary action, as Cordelia had once said in response to him telling her he wasn't breathing that he should 'stop wiggling his man boobs' sometimes she was such a handful especially if things weren't going her way, but he looked out for her, like he did everyone else.
The rest of their walk was in silence each going over their own thoughts ideas. He didn't mind what ever chill there was left in the rain, his body didn't fell it anyway only after he fed. Once when he was with Buffy, but that ended up part of his curse...his soul was lost in an act of passion, with that he might as well have become a monk. His dark eyes looked up to the shadow that had come up before them "What can I say it works for me. It's better that trying to take a walk in the daylight and bursting into flames. What brings you here Gunn? Vampires....Doyle had a vision about one in this graveyard earlier...he and Cordelia should be around here somewhere too, seen them." Turning some he glanced towards Faith "Faith this is Gunn, Gunn Faith...another face of Sunnydale, sort of..."

“Five quid for a beer? You yanks are off your mark I’d say, I mean some American beers are really underestimated… this sadly mate isn’t one of em.” Bellowed the platinum haired vampire. Parked outside his 1970 Chevy Nova was cooling down. The engine ticked as the rainwater pattered against the black primer hood, and against the dark tinted windows, obviously applied with little care. Oil dripped from the pan, the shocks were shot, and the radio was permanently stuck on the Punk/Rock-a-Billy station but for all it’s lackluster it was Spike’s baby.
He tossed down a few bills and then walked out after saluting the bartender with an upturn of his first and middle fingers. – Just another one of the differences between the Yanks and the Wanks he figured. Blimey idiot probably never even realized he was just flipped off. Soon he was outside, the cold damp rain was shielded by the overhanging awning, and it seemed a good place to get his bearings on a meal.
Spike lounged against the building an unlit cigarette dangling from between his lips. He leaned down and cupped his hands around the tip of the cigarette as he lit it with a match, the sudden spark of fire lighting up his handsome features. Leaning back, he rested his head on the hard brick of the building his eyelids closed and hiding the startling blue eyes. A satisfied smirk pulled at the vampire's lips as he brought the lit cigarette to his mouth and inhaled the smoke into his dead lungs. Idly he lowered his arm back to his side as the ash gathered at the tip of his cigarette and fell soundlessly to the ground.
Spike, now a Master Vampire, he was no longer scared of daddy, and he was actually glad Angel and he were no longer mates. He could finally put him in his place after so many years of obeying Angelus without question. Now, Spike was a rebellious little fucker who only cared about his Princess Drusilla. He loved being a Vampire, killing people, taking there lives, and feeling that last heart beat. Rumor on the undead grapevine were that Angel was trying to make amends here. He’d heard enough from the Scoobies in Sunnydale. The bloody bastard. Spike hated him for leaving all those years ago - Leaving him to fend for Drusilla by himself. He loved her, well if a Vampire can love. But it was trying to deal with her nonsensical babble all the time. So here he was, standing against a soddin' wall, picking at his black painted nails with a cigarette in his mouth. Noise in the corner made Spike open his eyes and take a drag off his cigarette. He stared. What the fuck was that?
Of course, Spike being the Big Bad he was, walked over to investigate. Surely something was over there. It made a big enough noise. The darkness of the alleyway where the noise came from was quiet now. The shadows revealed nothing save the debris from the adjacent dumpster the alley was empty. It had to be just a cat or something. Spike shook his head, his cigarette finally burned down he threw it on the ground and shrugged. Cats weren’t what he was after tonight. Only self resentful soul-stained pussies like Angel fed off the blood of such lesser beings. He got into the Nova and roared the engine to life. “Ah, I well best be punctual… early vampire gets the jugular I always say, after all a gentleman mustn’t keep his lady waiting. Even is she’s as crazy as a loon.”
