Post by Sebastian de la Jolla on Jan 11, 2005 16:39:55 GMT -5
First Name: Sebastian Middle Name: Antonio Jullian Diego Last Name: de la Jolla Age: 21 Place of Birth: Barcelona, Spain Location: Currently, Valencia, Spain
Physical Description: Brought up in the lifestyle and ways of traditional Spanish Don upbringing. Kept well fit. Standing 5’ 10” Sebastian weighs in at 163lbs. Black hair which is a bit long but not overly so, usually kempt in a slicked back fashion. When undone it tends to be unruly and holds natural curl to it. Tanned skinned and clean shaven, dark brown eyes stare out from under dark brows.
Family Relations: Don Jauquin Alijandro Mendia de la Jolla – Father Contessa Marianna de la Jolla – Mother(Decease, died in child birth) Don Viggo Raul Jose de la Jolla – Eldest Brother (7 years older, Married, 3 Children) Mercedes Fabiolia de la Vega/ de la Jolla – Sister-in-Law Don Alijandro Fabian de la Jolla – Elder Brother (4 years older, Married, 5 Children) Rosalind Paloma Salvador/ de la Jolla – Sister-in-Law Desdamona Carmine Esperanza de la Jolla / Cortez – Elder Sister (2 years older, Married, First child on the way) Don Diego Roberto Valinteno Cortez – Brother-in-Law Bernardo Javier Enrique de la Jolla – Younger Brother (Decease, died at birth, would have been 6 years younger.)
Lucas Inego Gaspar Devante "El Tiburón" de la Jolla - Uncle (Pirate Captain of the "Mar Diablo")
Personality Description: Still a bit naïve on how the world lives outside of privilege. He has a free spirit and hunger for adventure. Though he still keeps to the manners he was raised with, while having a flare for being in a way sarcastic or a bit coy. Enjoys the company of other, especially having grown up with plenty of siestas and guests joining them at their dinner table. Though he’s been known to have a fired temper when pushed to far.
Strengths: Skilled in the ways of the Sword, and Fencing. Strong riding skills. Knows his way around small vessels from traveling with his father.
Weakness: Largest fear, losing those closest to him, memories from losing his mother at a young age. Left knee, never fully recovered after a fall from his horse.
Personal History: Perhaps it should all start with his birth. Simply enough he was born to Don Jauquin Alijandro Mendia de la Jolla and his wife Contessa Marianna. The Don already had two Sons following in his footsteps, An arranged marriage for his still young daughter planned, and hope that Sebastian would take up his passions for Politics. In his sixth year Sebastian watched the death of his mother and his younger brother, dew to childbirth. Always that memory haunted him, thus his fear of losing those closet to him. Four years later a second event made it even firmer within his mind. Out riding with his elder brother Alijandro, his horse bucked him off after being scared by the march of Royal Soldiers. His brother came to his rescue, trying to calm the horse, but ended up thrown and trampled over. He lost the complete use of his right arm. Sebastian only had minor injuries save for his knee, which to this day still acts up. In later years he took part in all of his elder siblings marriages, and births of their children.
Tired of living the life of his father’s life, the life all of his brothers have chosen to live, Sebastian decided that upon his twenty-first birthday he would make a life of his own. Rather than studying the Politics of the Spanish Crown, he wanted to travel the world. A dream that was slow in the making. First setting out he merely wanted to find a place where his family name was unknown, which proved to be rather hard when your father is a powerful and rich Don of the Queen. Finding a small port area of Valencia, Sebastian finally made a bit of a small home. Working in a small tavern he over heard much talk, and things that made him want all the more to travel the seas. But no story captured him more than those of the Cursed Aztec gold and Crew of the Black Pearl. A famed, and haunting story of the Ghostly ship and her Damned Crew. Which brings us to today.
Current Storyline Outline: Preparing to make his way out upon a small easily sailable ship, that could be run by a crew of 1-3, Sebastian comes across a snag as his ship is stolen by a pirate (who’s going to be actually RPed by a friend). So to get his ship back Sebastian sets out to sea on another small boat determined to catch the thief. But will it end up more trouble than its worth?

First Name: Caitlyn Middle Name: Myra Last Name: Segrave Age: 22 Location of Birth: London, England Location: On the high seas
Physical Description: Caitlyn is very petite, from the small button nose on her face to the almost child-like hands that grip the sanded wooden handle of a hammer or dagger; this menace to the high seas stands at a mere 5’3”. She has long ebony hair, green eyes like her mother and flawless pale skin that is almost translucent if she steers clear of the sun.
Family Relations: Richard Segrave – Father Bridget Segrave – Mother (deceased) Edmund Segrave – cousin
Personality Description: Cait is a brash little Brit, who is quick to temper and has a penchant for proving herself right. She is certainly "one of the boys," and can hold her own in drinking, carousing, and generally being obnoxious. Caitlyn is also however not without culture, as her Father (a merchant and blacksmith) brought her along with him though his travels of the sea.
Strengths: Cunning street smarts A learned equestrian Archery, Dagger and Hammer are her weapons of choice Has an intimate knowledge of sailing and blacksmithing due to her Father’s lack of knowing how to raise a girl by himself.
Weakness: Developed intense claustrophobia when her wicked little cousin Edmund locked her in a clothes trunk as a joke when she was a small child. Stubborn as they come Branded a pirate/criminal on (left shoulder) after she was caught stealing a schooner from the Felixstowe port in Suffolk, England.
Personal History: Caitlyn’s mother died in childbirth leaving her father at a loss for how to raise a girl on his own, thusly he brought her up to the best of his knowledge… aboard his captain’s merchant ship “The Persephone” She developed into quite the woman, and when it apparently started to become a problem with some of the crew that a ‘woman’ was frequently on board, Cait’s father transplanted her to London to stay with her Aunt and older Cousin Edmund. This did not sit well with the young lady, and although her Aunt tried her best to tame the poor girl with riding lessons and private tutors it was seemingly in vain. Vowing to never look back Caitlyn packed her few belongings and escaped. After aiding in stealing a ship with the help of a few scoundrels in London, and making her way to France, where she was later caught and branded a pirate, Caitlyn escaped execution and fled to Spain.
Current Storyline Outline: most recently she has stolen a small vessel and is making her way across the Atlantic to escape her old life and make what she has left of it count. Cait has heard the tales and now understands the phrase, “Take all that you can… give nothing back” so much in fact, that it’s almost her philosophy.

First Name: Porthos Middle Name: Unknown Last Name: du Valon Age: 35 Location of birth: Versailles, France Current location: Wherever wine, women and song can be found
Physical Description: Porthos stands 6’2”, weighing in at a robust 285 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a thin mustache, which he claims the ladies love. His brown eyes are usually lively, lit with amusement and mischief. His skin is ruddy and tanned from days spent lying on the beach of assorted tropical islands, usually with a bottle of rum in one hand and a woman on the other.
Personality Description: Porthos’ motto is, “eat, drink and be merry”, a philosophy he whole heartedly subscribes to. Find him at an inn, he’ll be more than happy to pour you a drink and share some stories. He tends to embellish his tales, but call him on it and you’ll likely find yourself at the wrong end of his sword. He is a loyal man and is an excellent ally to have. However, if you anger him to the point where he makes you his enemy, take care. A former Musketeer, he is vastly skilled with various weapons. He favors his cutlass and a pistol.
Strengths: -Archery, sword fighting and a vast knowledge of powder weapons -Skilled bare knuckle fighter -Good mind and head for fighting; his mind works quickly to assess each situation and plots a corresponding plan of attack -Eating (his appetite impressed King Louis XIV during a banquet at Versailles in the days when Porthos was on the straight and narrow) -Drinking; he can finish off a barrel of rum himself and still hit a moving target at 100 yards with a pistol -Strong knowledge of sailing, having been a deck hand on a pirate ship in his youth
Weakness: -Women; his feelings toward the ‘softer sex’ have gotten him into hot water more than once. He has a scar on the upper left side of his chest from a female assassin. -He can never return to his native France, having been branded a traitor and a thief after he made off with a hefty sum of gold and the king’s bride to be. -Tendency to embellish on his already mind-boggling exploits.
Personal History: Abandoned in Paris by his parents, Porthos grew up on the streets. He was taken to sea at the age of 14 by a pirate captain that had seen him fight in a street brawl. Porthos served as a deck hand on the Hellish Dream, where he learned the fine art of pillaging, thievery and sword fighting. He stayed with the Hellish Dream until age 22, when he was arrested for theft in Paris. The captain of the guards that had been sent to arrest him was extremely impressed with his sword fighting skills and he offered this ultimatum: join the military or face the gallows. Porthos wanted nothing to do with a noose, so he willingly gave up his scoundrel ways for the time being. After accelerating through the ranks, Porthos was a Musketeer for 12 years. Deciding he didn’t like the straight life much, he retired to pursue his old ways. Be began by ripping off the king’s tax coach and taking his bride-to-be on a wild ride.
Current Storyline Outline: Porthos is wandering from port to port, hanging in the local inns and getting his share of the local entertainment. He does miss the sea and is looking for a vessel willing to take on a former Musketeer.

Post by Mr J.Gibbs on Jan 11, 2005 16:58:06 GMT -5
First Name: Joshamee Middle Name: Daniel Last Name: Gibbs Age: 37 Location: Found a number of locations. Most recently, Tortuga.
Physical Description: A fairly filled out chap, Joshamee Gibbs has a round belly made big from drinks of rum, and well eating. Though he’d always been a bit larger than most. A strapping man, who’s come with his years. In only eight, what seemed like short years, gray started to take over his large sideburns and into the sides of his graying hair. Which both in his youth were nearly black.
Personality Description: Gibbs, is quite the character. A drinking fool. He’s a good and loyal friend however, and is always a good mate to be on your side. A storyteller at heart, he enjoys the adventures that come with sailing. Weather it be on a Governor’s ship to Port Royal from London, or a daft group of pirates, he’ll be up for it. He sticks by his word, though he’s weary of bad luck.
Strengths: Sailing Storytelling Knowledge of the Pirate Code, and of what brings bad luck
Weakness: Drinking
Personal History: Born in London, England to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander James Gibbs, he’s the third son of four. His father had been a sailor, as his father before him, and Joshamee took up sailing upon his seventeenth birthday. Sailing with a merchant trading company with his father, it was in his teen years he had his first brush with Pirates. Two years later when his father died, Joshamee took out on his own, to make his way of the world. Sailing with different crews here and there, he met and befriended a young pirate by the name of Jack Sparrow, who had been Captain of the Black Pearl. Being only a few years elder the man, they got along splendidly. Then it came time for them to split ways.
It was in this time that, Gibbs, took a position as a sailor in London, upon Governor Swann’s ship, as it was making way to Port Royal. By then he’d developed his drinking habit and took a swig as often as he could. Especially when the water fogged and a young girls voice, sang a pirate song. He didn’t really mind Elizabeth Swann, and she enjoyed his pirate tales. He’d warned it was frightful bad luck to have a woman on board, even a small one. And he was correct. However it hadn’t been their ship attacked. A shout was heard and he leaned over the side. A merchant ship was destroyed, pieces of wood and cargo floated in the water, along with a boy. William Turner. For a while Joshamee looked after the boy as they continued sailing. Then once again it was time for him to move on. Last heard of, Joshamee Gibbs had landed in the Pirate City of Tortuga.
Current Storyline Outline: Having returned from another sailing adventure, Joshamee Gibbs, stays around Tortuga. Drinking himself into a stupor some nights, only to find himself asleep with the pigs.

First Name: Westley Middle Name: Chase Last Name: Roberts Aliases/Titles: Farm Boy, Man in Black, The Dread Pirate Roberts Age: 27 Location: The Pirate Ship "Revenge"
Physical Description: Westley stands at 5' 11" sporting sandy blonde hair which is usually pulled into a ponytail at the nape of his neck. His eyes have been described as looking like the sea after a storm, a wonderful blend of blues and greys. Donned in dark colors and brandishing a simple cutlass, this charming fellow does not usually appear to be very formidable, but rest assured his fencing is quite keen. Occasionally he wears a mask to obscure his features, but you see it's just that they are so terribly comfortable...
Personality Description: This handsome farm-boy gone pirate is a hopeless romantic, charming to a fault. Regardless of his title as the Dread Roberts, he is well liked by most, but that doesn't mean he is not without enemies. Sometimes his lust for adventure can get him into trouble, and if he feels cornered be warned, he might just take on any who stand in his way, regardless of the number or size. Wes isn't much of a drinker; he prefers to keep a level head and a sharp eye.
Strengths: • Master swordsman • The crafty tongue of a Rogue • Immunity to Iocaine powder • Can and has withstood various forms of torture.
Weakness: • He fears Spinning Ticks • Has an addiction to gambling in various and sometimes dangerous forms • And he has a furious sometimes blinded devotion to his ship and crew.
Personal History: Just south of London lay the rolling beauty of the South Downs. The green hillsides stretch across the twin counties of Sussex and down to the Sea. This natural landscape was where Westley Roberts was to grow up. Left on the doorstep of a converted Anglo-Saxon church, the young boy was raised by Father Twining until his early teens in the servitude of Christ. When he was strong enough he went to work at a local farm. But Sussex being a primarily a rural county suffered from the changes in agricultural practice as arable agricultural gave way to sheep farming. Penniless and lacking a desire to return to the Church, Westley decided that his destiny was not on land as a farmer or a priest, but at sea. After his ship "The Queen's Pride" was pillaged, the boy was taken in on the "Revenge" It was here that the once inept youth learned the fine art of pirating. Westley fit in with the crew like a peg, and he no longer found himself craving the solidarity of a family, so when news that the Captain was retiring hit his ears it was a sour blow to his heart. The Captain took the boy, (he'd always fancied like a son) aside and revealed his secret. "I am not the Dread Pirate Roberts," he said. "My name is Ryan. I inherited this ship from the previous Dread Pirate Roberts, just as you will inherit it from me. The man I inherited it from was not the real Dread Pirate Roberts, either. His name was Cummerbund. The real Roberts has been retired fifteen years and living like a king in Patagonia." This news was a bit much for Wes to take in, but succumbing to his new fate as Captain, they took on an entirely new crew, Ryan staying on for a while as First Mate until the crew believed.
Current Storyline Outline: Westley is now aiding the "new" Dread Pirate Roberts as first mate, and tired of frequenting the ports of the British Isles, he and his crew have crossed over the Atlantic to uncover what treasures might lay in the Caribbean. Since rumor has it that the waters of those islands are sparsely populated by men of his ill favor, he is eager to bring the legend of Roberts and the Revenge to the Caribbean Sea. Currently he is making way for Tortuga his sights set on finding a few good men to help him seek a fabled treasure Ryan had described was there for the taking. Ryan explained it was a "unicorn" of treasures... a fool's errand, but Westley was already smitten by the tale. Ryan detailed a story about the "Nuestra Senora De Atocha" a Galleon ship that was sacked off the coast of (what would in future years become) Key West, during a terrible storm. The treasure this ship had complimented was thought to have been lost to the depths of the ocean, but Ryan had heard a slightly different tale, this one revealing that the bulk of the Atocha's gold was stashed in an alternate location, and did not sink along with the ship. Westley researched all he could on the subject, and after several years has managed to obtain what he believes to be a section of map leading him to this fabled bullion.

Sex: Male
Physical Description: 6.3 175 lbs. Dark brown hair, steel blue eyes, slender toned build.
Background Information: Flint is the first mate aboard “The Box”. A man of intrigue and espionage, Flint is not to be trusted and either due to his looks or his charisma often is. He works as an assassin, pirate, rogue… whatever is needed to get the job done and he has been trained since his youth to spy, manipulate, and lie.
History: He was unwanted from the start. Born to an English whore serving under a grease-spot for a pimp. Flint was quick to turn his back on the only family he knew, a two-bit whore and a tattered letter from his "father". He worked here and there scraping by out a sick desperation to cling to life. It wasn’t until he met up with a theatre group that he was able to truly hone his skills. An actor he could be, but Mr. Halifax instead turned his natural talents to crime. Name: William Turner
Nickname: "Will"
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Physical Description: Standing at 5' 11" William sports shoulder length chestnut hair, intense dark brown eyes, and a proclivity for simple work clothes.
Background Information: He is thought to be the only surviving member of the Turner family, William is the son of the pirate (although decent man) William “Bootstrap” Turner who as far as Will knows was a sailing merchant and a law abiding citizen.

His father sent him gifts once in a while, one of which, a gold medallion with the intricate pattern of a twisted skull in the center of the face (is no longer in his possession). After his mother died, he hitched a ride as a cabin boy on a random ship, hoping to somehow meet his father. The ship he was on blew up, the reason unrevealed. Some say it was attacked by pirates, while others say it was an accident. Will was rescued by a crossing ship from England, the Dauntless, by Governor Swann and Captain Norrington. Elizabeth Swann (the governor’s daughter) spotted Will on a raft, unconscious. They brought him onboard and took care of him, aiding him to carve out a new life. He found a niche in Port Royale where he was hired as an apprentice to Mr. Brown, the local blacksmith and has henceforth worked in humble dedication that one day he will win over Elizabeth’s heart.
Other Information: William Turner is in love with the Elizabeth Swann since the moment they met, but has never had the courage to tell her. He is secretly running Mr. Brown’s blacksmith shop by himself, and has given his teacher, an outstanding reputation for being the maker of the finest swords in all of Port Royale.

That's Aramis. He's a true gentleman. Well, at least he tries to be. As D'Artagnan once said, "Aramis is mildness and grace personified. Well, did anybody ever dream of calling Aramis a coward? No, certainly not!" He is a deliberate and well-schooled fighter. Though he is a man of letters and well read of the Bible he is also know to be on intimate terms with several ladies of nobility in Paris and somewhat less favored by some of the involved nobles. Ah, Athos. A sullen and brash young man. He has his passions and humor but he keeps it well hidden under a veneer of aloofness carefully constructed after the loss of his wife and true love. Another product of this change in him is that as soon as a fight begins he is going to annihilate every guy he faced. He is in it without fear of death or injury. His full frontal attacks are legendary and awesome to behold. It is a great joy watching him move. He is extremely loyal to friends or a just cause. And when he does let his humor show he is very mischievous and playful. Porthos is a Musketeer of great height and haughty countenance, dressed in a costume so peculiar as to attract general attention. As a matter of fact he loves to be the center of attention. His witty jokes and quick one liners are usually a welcome balance to his friend Athos' dour personality. Couple that with his care free manner and enjoyment of dance and drink and he is the star of any party. He is as vain as Narcissus. And is always bragging about his great exploits as Porthos the Pirate. All the women and worlds that he claims to have conquered would make an Amazon blush. His ability with the sword is somewhat less than spectacular but he makes up for that with his proficiency with nearly any other weapon known and a few he has invented all on his own. In the words of Alexandre Dumas - "A young man--we can sketch his portrait at a dash. Imagine to yourself a Don Quixote of eighteen; a Don Quixote without his corselet, without his coat of mail;... face long and brown; high cheek bones, a sign of sagacity; the maxillary muscles enormously developed, an infallible sign by which a Gascon may always be detected... ; the eye open and intelligent; the nose hooked, but finely chiseled. Too big for a youth, too small for a grown man, an experienced eye might have taken him for a farmer's son upon a journey had it not been for the long sword which, dangled from a leather baldric." D'Artagnan is a bold and seemingly self assured young man, and is always on his guard against the slightest insult either direct or implied. But all in all he is very much like a big puppy who isn't yet sure of his own worth. His ability with the sword is natural and he has learned well under the tutelage of his fellow Musketeers. #nosmileys
