The drinks had finished and Laurie sat alone and content at the table. She was used to be alone, when her powers manifested themselves and her mother Gail told her everything about her father and her inheritance of his gifts, she swore to herself never to do what he did. Never to use her powers against another person just to make them like her, or just well anything. So Laurie hid herself away from others, keeping to herself and never really socializing. That was until Sofia dragged her out and she was a welcomed addative to the team. Sure she didn't have much offensive powers like Sofia or Nori and sure she didn't have much defensive either like Josh or Dave or Jay, but she did have her gift. And when it came down to it, it came in handy sometimes. Like when she used it against the Hulk to calm him down in the danger room similation or when she used the same thing on Rockslide. Either way, she sometimes found benifit and sometimes found dismay.
When Nori came out all changed and spiffy, Kevin had invited her out with him. Not wanting to really be left alone with Julian, she hoped that they didn't mind if she tagged along. They would understand right? " Is it ok if..I kind of..come along. I don't want to be around a grumpy Julian." Laurie spoke up softly as she walked towards the pair and when they said of course she smiled and followed out. Watching only the moments in which Julian found his nice discomfort thanks to Kevin and Nori. " Bye Julian.." was all she could say as she exited. Even if she wasn't the fondest of him, it didn't mean she couldn't be polite right?
She followed the pair along the side walks and towards the park. She remembered Kevin saying something about an exibit to her, and when they arrived it was true. There was one, and lingering back per usual she took to her own pace at awing the fine works. She never really stuck close to the other two, she didn't want to bug them and she hoped that maybe Sofia or Dave or hopefully Josh would come drag her away from them. It wasn't that she wanted to stay away it was that it could be nice for you know..Nori or Kevin to find someone or just well, have their own time without worrying about her butt.
Her hands were clasped together in front of her and often she moved with her head down and staring towards her feet. Perfect signal of a shy girl. She was not but a few feet away from them when she heard a familiar voice and she turned. A bright smile playing over her face and a sudden glaze of a dreamy state in her eyes. Josh had arrived, and she could feel every nerve in her belly tighten. "Hhh..Hi Josh. It's ok, no one arrived yet anyways. So your not late." Laurie could feel her dreamy stare coming over her face but she didn't care. She liked Josh, she liked him alot and anyone could tell, it wasn't that hard to see. Ever since he saved her life, it was like he was her own angel. He even came over for dinner at her mothers a few weekends ago and at the end he kissed her. Just thinking about that kiss made her googly even more and to regain herself she turned her gaze back towards the grassy ground.
She laughed as well at his last comment about Julian. She laughed with sincereness inside.

It wasn’t hard for her to feel comfortable around Wither. It seemed that everyone was afraid of him except for Noriko. Maybe it as because with her metal gauntlets she has the rare ability to actually reach out and touch him with out fear of melting off her skin, but she guessed it was something more. She guessed it was because they weren’t that dissimilar. Both had the inability to just reach out with their bare hands and touch someone. Both were destructive with the simplest act, touch.
“I love art… Father used to make me practice all of the traditional calligraphy and junk like that, so I …yeah... I like it.” she realized she was rambling a little too much and made a face at herself promptly shutting up. She followed him without question to the park, her bright eyes taking in the works of art here and there. She paused along with him, making comments about this piece or that, until he paused with her at the kaleidoscope.
She paused extra long at this piece squeezing Kevin’s arm at the mention of what it was for. “Ooh that sounds really awesome. I wanna make sure that we get back here to see it, ok?”
They moved onto the other pieces each in turn having their own little quirk that fascinated her; but every so often her glance would turn back to the first piece he showed her and then to the sky to make sure she wasn’t going to miss sunset. “Thank you Kevin, it’s really nice... but I don’t need a flower to remember today.” She said with a wink, her voice a little crackly.

Something was in the air. She could smell it. Something was calling her, drawing her closer. She didn't know what it was, or why it was affecting her so much but she had to find out what it was. She had to find out where it was coming from.
X moved along the side walk, her hands clenching just slightly into fists, the scent it was intoxicating. She didn't stand out in a crowd, or well she didn't want to, but she guessed from what she had witnessed in her freedom that how she dressed did cause some eyes to turn. Some voices to be heard. Whispers, stares, nothing mattered to her right now, they never mattered. She was attired rather normally, a shirt black skirt, black tank top under a black long coat which hugged to her hips. Fishnet stockings covered by boots and a nice worn in collar staced around her slender neck. She just looked like your typical young teenage goth. Little did anyone know that X was not just some typical teen, but much much more.
She weaved with little effort, in and out of peoples ways. It was like she was a step ahead of them, she always was. Her head was tilted downwards and long tresses fell into her face. New York was her haven, her home, the streets were her domain, and now something here was calling her, something in the...the park. She found where this aroma was coming from. Her head raised just a bit to sniff at the air once more, yes she was perfectly on its trail.
With a quick turn she moved through the park way. There was some show on, large statues were in place obscuring her vision. Every once in a while she would stop and stare at the peices as if something caught her attention. As if she was a dog trying to understand her master. Her head tilted a bit to the side at a large odd looking object before her bright green orbs scanned again. Another wiff of the air and she was staring right towards the group that gave off such an interesting smell. Something so familiar about it. When it came down to it, her attentions narrowed on a specific member, a girl, with blue locks of hair that were chopped short around her face. Yes, she was the one, she was the one with the familiar smell. She was the one which must have had some connection with someone she met only once...This feral man. The one she was cloned from..Weapon X There was a mixture of feelings coming, a mixture she was unsure of, but something told her today was going to be an interesting day.

He smiled, he had felt her arms wrap around his a while ago, but after getting the flower for her, he sorta, seperated himself from her. It was pretty sad, Kevin-aka Wither, had a fear of getting close to anyone, especially after what happened to his father and Pierce. However, he wouldn't deny the fact that he reveled in what happened to Pierce. The man was evil and needed to die.
In a way, he started to wonder to himself, if he was just acting this way to Nori because he wanted Laurie jealous. After all, sometimes her and Josh flaunted it in front of him... but never the less... his eyes scanned back to Noriko, a smile on his lips as his green orbs shimmered in the sunlight. No... he did this act with Nori because he liked her-whether just as a friend or what right now... he didn't know.
However, he noticed a few things... the sparks that were flying form Nori's fingertips... perhaps it was cause she was nervous-cause she sure as hell looked like it... as well as the woman with seemingly glowing eyes that stared at Nori's sparks. Something wasn't going to go well in the next moments... and well, he would be there for Nori.
Kevin's footsteps brought him closer to Nori, eyes downcast. "Nori.. your hands are sparking." However, by then it was too late.

X23 had sniffed at the air again and again. Yes, she was right, they knew him. They knew Weapon X. She didn't know how but they did. It was a faint yes but it was there. They had been in a building perhaps that he was in as well. It did not matter though, she was not angry, she was not sad, she was nothing at the moment when she thought of him. She did not know how to act with a man whom gained some of her trust yet she held so much hatred for. She didn't understand these feelings. She wasn't allowed to.
Her hand retreated to her arm, holding her right forarm just gently. They didn't sting anymore, they never did. But something about this group was unnerving her. She watched still, watch them move, a gold skinned man so odd to her. The others looked normal. Her eyes reflected the light every once in a while as she moved around, slowly getting closer and closer. They narrowed in on a pair of odd metallic gloves that the blue haired girl was wearing. They sparked!
Something switched in her mind then.Something began to turn deep inside she could not control. A memory a flash, an instinct. The green orbs that were so bright began to darken and turn to a red hue. Her breath was deeper than before and her hands twitched at her sides. She couldn't hold it down, she couldn't stop herself. She didn't want to.
"NO!" she yelled angrily and loudly as if someone had said something to her. And she moved with the most amazing agility and speed. Like a wild animal, she lunged forward. A blade extracting from not her knucles but her foot. She would make this slow, painless, she would kill her threat. Kill the target...complete your mission...20 minutes...make it 5...Kill. She was in a rage, a rage she could not control and she moved quicker and faster towards her. With a loud agressive yell of anger she lunged for the girl, her foot lifting to twirl around towards her neck. She would stop her, she would not go back.

So he was right, this girl was going to attack Nori... something about this wasn't good... and then he saw her eyes. They weren't green as his anymore, no they were something else, something Evil... they were a crimson red... yet not only that, but they were directed for Nori.
The primal scream of the girl who he watched, made him instantly rip off his gloves. Something was going to go down, and if it had to be, it would be this girl, NOT his friends. "NO!!!" was heard throughout the park, his eyes widdened. "Nori! Move!" With that, although it wasn't gentle he knew she knew he meant the best for her. His ungloved hands grabbed her metalic arms and pushed her to the ground, just in time to miss the girl's flying foot.
His own body ducked from the girl's swing, almost catching it with his ungloved hand... instead, her boots were singed by his abilities, slowly withering away. His body seemed to grow as he took in a breath and tackled the girl before him, now her red eyes locked with his green. Arms grabbed hers, as metal claws seemed to spring from her hands just as the claw on her foot did.
He felt her jacket wither away under his touch as he wrestled with the girl on the floor. He wouldn't let something happen to one of his friends. "No..." he grumbled as he felt his arm knicked by her blades. "Damnit..." by then, however, he felt her supernatural strength and he felt uneasy. Using some reserve strength he managed to flip the position, causing him on top.
One hand let go of her arm, grasping hold of her neck. The flesh was eaten away by his touch... pain seered through the girls eyes. His own softened as he felt bad, but this is what he had to do.

X had her target, had her locked, this girl was her nemy this man was her enemy, everyone was her enemy at this moment. She had no friends, she had no life, she had only the kill. Kill was in her blood, kill was all she knew at the moment, Kill everyone who stood in her way.The Mission must be completed.
She missed...somehow she missed. That boy with the brown hair he pushed the girl from X23's way. He was a friend? A lover? A brother? She did not care, he was now her threat, he was now the cause of her failure, he was now going to be the target. She noticd only for a second that her boot melted away, only for that split second as the claw slide back into her foot.
She growled deeply, savagely as she not lunged at him, claws extending from her knickled now. They swiped, they slashed, she had the upper hand when she pounced over him, he fell back tot he ground. She had the upper hand. Quick and fast kill. That was how she was trained, that was what she would do. The jacket around her sudden began to melt away to. What was causing this? It didn't make sense. But in that she lost her leverage.
She found herself tossed and thrown onto her back. She struggled to get free. Her anger only rising mroe as she screamed in frustration. No one had ever gotten the upper hand on X23, no one ever had a chance, and she wasn't about to let this boy too. She smelled blood suddenly, she must have cut him. Yes, and that enraged her peraps even more like some wild animal. She would kill him...she wanted too...she couldn't.
A hand moved around her neck and a sudden swarm of pain flew through her. She screamed, out in pain. The eyes quickly turning back to thos calm green glowing orbs. She could feel it on the inside, on the out, everywhere. She couldn't stop screaming, the pain was unbarable. The skin under his own began to melt away, she could feel it. It turned grey before cracking and beginning to slide, but something kicked in herself. Her healing factor took over and from under his hand the skin kept reconstructing itself. Every moment was unbarable. The skin it melted, then it came, melted then came...she didn't think she could take much more of it. She shoved at him, kicked, screamed even louder. She didn't care about the publics horrific eyes on them. She had to get free, please let me go. In admists the cringing in pain after pain, the green orb managed to stare at him, teared in those words. Pleading for him to stop before wincing again.

Jay enjoyed beautiful days. Great days for flying. Only usually he reserved that for when he was in the safty of the Mansion. After all in a world like this, most mutants weren’t taken upon lightly. And Jay Gruthie was one of those mutants. It seemed his whole family was. Paige and Sam at least for sure. And his younger brother might have been showing signs of the X-factor. But for now sneakered feet walked. Warren had once taught him how to fold and hide his massive wings, he however let them show. It was easier. And in the same instance harder.
He’d heard there was an Art exhibit at the Park and decided to go. Things like that, and of beauty had a way of easing his mind, perhaps even his soul. It’s why he loved playing his guitar and singing so much. An angels voice could sooth even the most wild beasts soul, right. Though he hardly thought of himself an angel. Just a teenager with a lot on his plate. And a scar on his heart. When he came to where the exhibit was to be held his eyes didn’t come across a sight he thought he would have seen.
Kevin Ford atop a girl with hand gripping her throat. Eyes widened. Nori was lying on the ground. Something was going on. He moved into action sneakers pounding the grass before bright red wings spanned and with a mighty flap his entire body was lifted off the ground. He and Kevin had traded squads, but he knew Kevin wasn’t a bad guy. But this needed to be stopped. “Kevin! No!”
He could hear maybe the slightest plea from the girl underneath the boy as hands gripped the back of Kevin’s shirt and took him up into the air, one arm wrapping under his arms and chest to keep a better hold so he wouldn’t drop. But it didn’t make sense. With as long as Kevin had held on, the girl should have been dead. Shouldn’t she?

That's when he noticed it, as he had gotten the upper hand, he saw her skin reappear, then disappear under his touch. Over and over again. Her pain was over whelming as she screamed her primal noises over and over again. Her eyes pleaded with him to let go. Her kicking continued and she seemed to cry in pain as she was under him.
"You have to listen... I don't know who you are, but when I let go of you... you are coming to the side with me, and we are talking." His voice wasn't kind, he was ordering her to do something. He recognized assassins and mutants... she seemed to be both. The memory of Pierce flooded through his mind again before he finally let her go.
His hand wasn't even covered by blood, just by ash in which he had caused her neck to become before she regenerated herself. Emerald orbs watched her neck regenerate once more, one final time as she gasped for air. He too would take in deep breaths before grabbing her hand and pulling her up. Sure the sting of his hand upon hers must have worsened the situation, but he didn't care.
Growling and muttering to himself he dragged the girl, who seemed scared, over towards some bushes. "You and I..." he said as his hand continued to do it's thing against hers-not caring if she scratched and cut away with her other hand... "need to talk..." With that he threw her into a tree, making her sit as he did that.

Her stomach was flip flopping at this recent change in Kevin’s behavior. Was he just asking her out because he felt bad for her? Had all of this been some kind of a sympathy thing or was he truly warming up to her? It was so hard for her to separate him from the team of Hellions that he’d affiliated himself with. Their leader Julian had been such an asshole to her when she’d come to the University for aid; Ordering her to leave because she looked like a vagrant looking for a handout. Noriko wouldn’t have held the grudge against Julian after she’d been accepted into the fold, but his ‘prick-factor’ hadn’t changed just because he’d been proven wrong about her. She sometimes thought it was worse.
But now there was Kevin. He wasn’t like the others in the estranged team of Hellions. He wore his heart on his sleeve, encased in a lead box. He was easy to read, but hard to effect. He kept himself much like the tin man in the Wizard of Oz, a walking automaton who was afraid to open up and just let someone in, afraid that his coarse mutation would sandblast them away. “Like this piece best…” she started to say in response to the metal kaleidoscope. “It makes me think of what it’s like to be a mutant. That the world sees something hard and sharp… something they don’t understand. But that’s because they never wait around long enough to see the beauty within…” She barely noticed that he hands were sparking off the metal flower he’d given her. Blue-white eyes flickered over to his sage expression. Her brow furrowed as she saw his agitation. “I’m what?” she stammered looking down, and then back up just as Kevin bull rushed her into the ground with a ‘whulp!’
The struggle between Wither and X happened in a blur of screaming and confusion. Nori felt the tickle of electric energy surging though her stomach, chest, arms and legs as she kicked off the ground. Like a live wire she flashed out with a burst of speed, her eyes taking in the raven-haired girl’s pleads for her freedom. “Kevin stop, STOP!! You’re going to kill her!” she bellowed looking about wildly for the other teammates. She could stop him if she hit him with a blast, but he was a teammate… she couldn’t attack him, she wouldn’t! “Kevin! STOP!!”
Then she saw the rough way he handled her, the violent thrust against the tree and her stomach lurched. Maybe she’d read him all wrong. Maybe he wasn’t as nice as she’d thought. Unsure what top do, the Asian girl watched in horror as her would-be killer, a girl who was no older than herself, was writhing in agony at the hands of someone she considered a friend. But that’s when she made her choice. Flashing to Wither’s side, she put a gauntlet on his forearm, and another at the girl’s shoulder. Teeth clashed as she let her hold go. Her hair stood almost on end and her body conducted the electric burst like a conduit between Wither and X hoping to break his connection and knock her unconscious so they could get her back to the University.

Laurie was standing so close to Josh. She didn't want to be any where else but there. Right close to him. Her heart was fluttering like a million butterflies had taken hold of her on the inside. A sweet smile playing upon her lips. She didn't want to bother Kevin or Nori so when Josh arrived she was more than happy that he did. Perfect timing. She watched the exchange of the flower and a brow raised slowly. There was only a hint of jealousy inside her at this transaction. She had once felt for Kevin the same way she did for Josh, or well when she was crushing on Josh anyways. Now, Now she knew she loved the gold skinned man. So she didn't really react much outwardly to the flower giving, instead she just smiled even more and slid her hand into Josh's.
Ever since he kissed her, she assumed they were going out, a pair, boyfriend and girlfriend. And nothing could ruin that, no one could. "They make a cute couple don't they?" she whispered to Josh suddenly, her eyes now on him with her small little smile. The red in her cheeks were always there when Josh was round, she couldn't help it.
Just then the perfect moment between them all was cut short. Someone came out of the blue, someone lunged at Nori but instead was in a tangoing fight with Kevin now. She was quick, her raven hair flew by before Laurie could even notice what was going on. "Oh my god!" she said suddenly, feeling the fear in her beginning to rise. She watched it all, not knowing what to do. What could she do? She didn't have powers like the others, hers were different, they didn't come in handy all the time. She slid behind Josh a bit as the whole fight took place. " Kevin No!" her words were sudden from out her mouth as she saw his hands around the girls neck. His hands of flesh.
"Someone stop him!" her next yell came, he was going to kill her. Something about him scared Laurie deep inside. Was this him? A brutal killer. The girl did try to attack Nori for some reason but did she really deserve to die? Did she?
Just then Nori was on her feet and Jay had come in as well. The girl flew back at the electrical shock Nori gave and she was unconcious. Would that be for long? Jay had Kevin in the air and the only thing Laurie could think to do to help was step forward finally. Her hands clenching a bit as she let out a burst of Pheromones towards Kevin. They were relaxing, soothing, calming. The girl was already unconcious, she wasn't a threat anymore, but Kevin had to calm down. To get back to the old Kevin she knew. The one everyone knew.

A sigh left her lips, the force of air, like a small breeze causing a lock of brown hair, which had escaped from her usual ponytail to dance infront of her eyes. In slight annoyance she pushed it back behind her ear and returned all focus to the book propped in her lap. It had not taken her long to find the best room in the entire mansion, the very extensive library. She loved it and not even Julian could annoy her there, but heaven knows he would sure try anyhow.
Sofia's soft brown gaze slowly moved around the park, she liked nature, finding it a peaceful surrounding and even an old friend. A gentle afternoon breeze wound it's way through the various tall trees, it was not a breeze of Wind Dancer's own creation, but that of nature it's self, but still she managed to keep it from flipping the page of her book until she was ready to move on to the next. Around her children played on various play-ground equipment and mothers, fathers, both or older siblings watched on, occasionally smiling at the antics of the youngsters. Occasionally they got a grin and even a chuckle from the young woman herself.
The day had so far been pleasent, a nice day to catch up on reading of course and Sofia truly hoped it stayed as such, but she knew better, her life now was complicated and moreso than ever before and not everything in this world was nice, this she knew all to well. But for now she would enjoy the precious and few moments and not worry about when and if they might end.

"Breath Kevin, just breath." Forearm stayed wrapped around the other boy as large wings flapped keeping the extra weight before he slowly let feet touch down on the grass beneath them. Eyes looked over to the girl before, more unfolded and she crashed back first into a tree trunk. Jay wasn't one fore violence or fighting. But he took the measures he needed to. Letting go he moved forwards, catching just the breifest hints of Laurie's powers as he passed. A feeling of calm, easy. It was amazing how the girl could work. But she stayed hidden some behind Josh.
His eyes studied the girl lying on the ground who seemed to have regeneration powers. It was the only way he could explain her still being alive after Kevin's grasp. Swallowing he crouched, taking a knee besides her before tentative fingers moved out to check if she still had a pulse. Red bangs fell against his forehead before he turned his gaze up towards Noriko. She was a close friend of his and he'd been worried about her when he'd seen her lying on the ground. "Are you all right?" But his focus turned back towards the girl. At least she had a pulse. Shoulders dropped some as he gave a sigh before shifting. And then an idea came to mind. Laurie.
With fingers still touching against the regenerated skin of the girls neck he turned his chin up. Looking straight to the blonde haired girl. "Laurie, can you use some of your pheromones on her? Who know's how she'll be when she wakes. But I know you can keep her calm." He gave a reassured smile to Laurie. He liked instilling the belief in others that they could do things, that they might have had a hard time believing. Maybe he'd be able to get through to Kevin and keep him cool, so Laurie could focus her powers somewhere else needed. Just as curious as the rest as to why the girl was attacking.

Her mind was concentrating on letting these pheromones take over in the air. It was hard to get one emotion out when you were feeling a bit of a different one. But the major situation was over so she needed everyone calm, relaxed and to find out what the heck was happening.
Her eyes closed suddenly. The wind with its gentle breeze was helping the pheromones move through the air quicker and towards it targets. She didn't mind if Jay was hit to, after all it wasn't anything bad she was giving out. Her arm wrapped around Josh's just a bit as she heard the words from Jay.
'Laurie, can you use some of your pheromones on her? Who know's how she'll be when she wakes. But I know you can keep her calm.'
Jay was a great guy, he encouraged people when they had doubts. And Laurie often had her doubts about her powers. She didn't want to be like her dad, she didn't want to use other people, she didn't want to not now not ever. But sometimes we have to do things that can help everyone out. Where was Sofia, this would be alot easier with her around. But it really didn't matter.
Smiling a bit and letting her blue gaze open to stare at Josh for a moment, she moved foward. Her courage was coming back a bit, and with just a bit of hesitation she was beside this unknown girl. Her eyes scanned down, staring at her as she kneeled, Laurie was obviously extremely nervous. This girl could take her out in one swipe. She had claws like Mr. Logan. She was just as agressive if not more too. Sighing softly, the Pheromones she used on Kevin began to drift away from him and towards the girl laying down. They hovered around her like a cloud of good feelings. "Come on..Don't freak out..let them work." she whispered to herself, placing a hand slowly and cautiously on the girls arm.

By the end of the scene, he was cut up on his arms and legs from the girl... his face as well. Bleeding, he didn't care. He saw the reaction from his fellow teammates and schoolmates... they saw what he did, did they see the fury in the girls eyes like he did? Did they see that every time he withered something away, it just grew back? No. "Jay... Jay let me go!!!" he felt his body being lifted off of her, and he felt his body carried away. "Jay let go, you can't touch me Jay... LET GO OF ME!" with that, he felt Jay put him down.
"Breath Kevin just breath." his head shook however, they just didn't get it. This girl... this girl was dangerous. And they were protecting the attacker!
They only saw him attack her. They only saw the bad side. Just like he knew they would. No one would understand him, he was trying to protect a friend! Now he was injured and he had gotten electricuted. His arm felt like there were 1000 bees attacking at once, his heart raced. For a moment, his eyes softened, and a tear fell from them, "No...Noriko..." was all he said before stumbling back and running away.
That was what Kevin did, he ran. When things got too bad, when he saw how bad they could really get, he ran. He didn't want to hurt her, he didn't want to hurt the girl who was hell bent on attacking himself and Norkio... no...
His breathing was weird, the electro shock had done something with his heart, made it beat faster. Now when he ran, his breathing was hard and almost forced. He wouldn't do that again... he wouldn't let the fear of others get to him anymore. He was too dangerous... he just didn't fit in, not in the academy, and sure as hell not in the real world.
