“Come on…. what are you doing back there growing the beans?” the customer at the counter was sighing and rolling his eyes as he continually spied his watch and then the clock on the wall. Surge eyeballed him from behind the slotted partition of the wall, apparently he wasn’t going to let up until he’d had his Grande mocha Latté served five minutes before he arrived. She finished steaming the milk and then married the blend of coffee, chocolate and foam, waltzing his purchase out to his tapping fingertips.
“Sorry it took so long, someone decided not to clean out the espresso press last night, and let’s just say you’ll thank me for cleaning the part when you taste this…” The uppity businessman opened his wallet searching for money. “You know its invalids like you that make the world a rounded place. Don’t kid yourself, you’re a great waitress. Everything I’ve come to expect from the service industry.”
Surge tried her best to maintain her smile and just get though this bastard of a person. He wasn’t worth it… was he? The suit slapped down a five, and turned to leave. She sighed; relaxed that it was finally over, when she caught the mutter to his friend. “I always get the retards… what the hell are those things on her arms?” A trembling hand worked up to the release bar. Then her eyes spotted her winning ticket. With a grimace she grabbed his forgotten keys, and allowed a small burst of energy literally melt them into a blob of twisted metal.
Eyes flashed as she called out to the suit. “Hey mister you forgot your keys!” she called, tossing the lump of silver and plastic in his direction like a softball. Her blow struck him straight between the eyes, spilling his coffee onto his Jacket and sleeve and knocking him backward. He reeled, arms pinwheeling as he tried to save himself a fall, but it was too late. He knocked over a table and the porcelain cup and cakes that had been there moments ago not to mention the laptop computer that the young man had been typing on. The lump of metal that used to be the keys to his SAAB rolled to a stop in a puddle of pastry and coffee.

Laurie could often be found by the lake side or in her room, meddling to herself. She didn't like the public, she didn't like being around alot of people, she was your typical shy girl, if not more. The thing was she didn't want herself to be used, used on other people or used against herself.
But today Laurie wasn't secluded in her room, or by herself. In fact she was walking straight into a place that was known to be a hot spot. The Grind Stone. Some of the other members had decided to meet there later on in the day and now was later on. It wasn't just a coincidence that one of their fellow team mates Nori was working at the same time. Unfortunatly Laurie walked there alone for once, but she promised to meet there and she would not back down on a promise. Even if she had a bunch of home work still needing to be done.
The blonde slowly stepped through the door. She had herself a bit of confidence but still was lacking in a great deal, and everyone could tell. She bowed her head when she walked, not wishing to look at anyone and her hands were kept in front of her, held calmly together. She pressed through the door way only to see a man fall to the ground. She scrambled to help him up, not really knowing what was going on. Her hands caught his arms and she tried to pull him to her feet. " Are you ok?" her quiet tone pressed through her lips. But the response was not something she was counting on. "Get the hell away from me." with a pull of the mans arm and a bit of a shove Laurie herself from the crouching position fell back onto her behind. Wide eyes and staring as the man helped himself up and spat a word or two before leaving in a furious rage.
Laurie could feel her face getting pink from embarrassment but the aroma of coffee beans and vanilla filled the room, creating a soothing sensation. She loved that smell, she loved it very much in fact, and she always found it somewhat easier to control her powers with something that calmed herself. She stood slowly, and glanced around to see if anyone had seen the fall, and if anyone from the school was already there or not, but at first she didn't see anyone, except for Nori who was wiping down the counter with an odd smug smile over her lips.
Making her way to the counter, Laurie ran a hand through her blonde tresses and took a slow seat. " Hi Nori." she said rather quietly as well, looking at the blue haired girl with a smile. "I guess no one is here yet?"

“Well well what have we here? Making trouble again Nuriko, it’s a wonder your even kept on any team.” Julian Keller was a brat as some would say, Emma Frost’s little protege. He had a similar attitude as the White Queen did, why she picked him to be on her team, and leader of the team. A team named after his on call name, Hellion, the team was the Hellions.
He looked around the coffee stop with a smug grin, despite having an attitude, he also had the ego of Mt. Fuji and a sort of Magneto complex as it were. He knew he had power, and the power to back up things he said, which made him almost worse. The dark haired youth made his way into the coffee shop not even bothering to help up the mousy girl, Laurie who’d been knocked over.
Instead with smug grin he went to the counter and ordered his java before taking a table, kicking sneakers up onto the table top, which dripped the spilt coffee he’d stepped in onto the top. Leaning forwards he made a face and removed his feet, looking directly at Nuriko as he snapped his fingers. “Uh, waitress, this table’s dirty…clean it.”<br>

Ok so the Grind Stone wasn’t exactly the friendliest of environments at the moment but Noriko wasn’t about to let the incident with this pretentious suit dampen her good mood, besides it was too much fun watching the expression on his face change when he saw what she’s done to his keys. The smile she wore was barely noticeable, but it was there, even with the soft spoken words from Laurie and the misdirected rage. Nori reached out with a gloved hand, helping her teammate and friend to her feet before walking around the counter for a mop and bucket. “I’m sorry about that Laurie, that jerk is officially banned from here. You ok?”<br>The swish of her mop back and forth gathered the spilled java, and collected the shards of broken porcelain.
She rounded the counter again, wiping down the surface with a bleach and soap mixture. Her head tilted up toward Laurie’s question. “Nope it’s just you and me kid-” The jingle of the bell at the door made her eyes scan up and then back to the blonde. “Spoke too soon…” she grumbled.
Julian Keller, better known in the academy as Hellion; He was what some would call a pretty boy, from his chiseled good looks to his piercing blue eyes, he was the epitome of attractive All-American heartthrob. And Noriko hated him. From she Nori had seen of Julian, he was undisciplined to anyone he considered lower that him or of less power and the only redeeming quality he seemed to have was for defending his own warped sense of just and wicked. But her hatred for the pretentious asshole wasn’t solely because how she’d seen him treat others, but how he treated her upon her first visit to the Academy.
“Well, well what have we here? Making trouble again Noriko, it’s a wonder you’re even kept on any team.”<br>Nori’s eyes panned over to him then back to her work. Letting him get her into a fight wasn’t worth the detention no matter how much she wanted to “take off the gloves” and wipe that smug look from his face. “Uh, waitress, this table’s dirty…clean it.”<br>‘Just breathe, he’s not worth it… he’s not worth it…’ she reminded herself looking to Laurie and then over to Julian. Without complaint Surge hastily wiped the tabletop and then stopped to get the tiny puddle she’d forgotten and he’d managed to step in.
Standing up with a groan of frustration the Asian mutant puffed blue strands out of her face and then perkily with a saccharine sugary voice dripping with cynicism she asked, “I apologize for the incontinence …sir.” It was all she could do not to spit the words in his face, but she managed to maintain the ‘Barbie doll’ smile. “Is there anything else I can get you… sir?” she said again this time her tone showing a hint of pissed off as she said “sir”. #nosmileys

His form rested against the coffee joint known as the Grind. Sure he wasn’t into coffee, but there were other reasons why he came here. A cigarette dangled from his mouth carelessly as he listened to the swarms of cars during the busy rushour schedule. “Well… looks like it’ll be a nice day today…” he huffed, making sure not to allow his head to hit the concrete of the wall behind him.
He sighed as the cigarette crumbled from his mouth and fell to the floor to ashes. “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust…” he whispered silently as he turned towards the door. It sucked for him, really… he had the money and the means to get cigarettes, and he would, but his ass would wither them within four drags. “72’s are my best bet…” he mumbled before entering the shop.
Within seconds of walking in, the suit pushed him into the doorframe and knocked the wind right out of the teen. Gasping he felt his knees buckle before grabbing the doorknob. Eyes shot to the suit who was cursing and threw his keys in the trash. Swallowing the air trapped in his chest, he eyed the room. All saw that scene and most were surprised he hadn’t reacted differently-after all, he did look like one of those ‘punks’.
The most surprised was Julian, who shook his head and snorted at his teammate. Shrugging some he nodded his hello’s to Laurie, too shy to say anything really. Though took notice of the hell Julian was giving Noriko.
“Julian, c’mon, it’s bad enough she deals with assholes on a daily basis… but don’t bring it to work too…” he commented with a wink to Noriko, sliding into a seat next to Julian. “Can I have a pepsi, no ice?” He smiled towards her, giving her a look as if saying, ‘don’t mind this jackass, I’ll get him later’.
Eyes turned to Julian, who was, as he was sure of it, going to go off on some power trip on Kevin.

Nori's hand shot to Laurie as she helped the meek girl to her feet. Her cheeks had already gone bright red from the embarassment of the whole thing. Thanks to better control of her powers, the remains of customers in the shop were still sitting and enjoying themselves. Laurie wouldn't ruin any of their fun, not now, not ever. She promised herself that "Oh Yup. I'm fine..thanks for asking. Sorry he bugged you." responded to Nori softly.
Not bothering to watch the suit leave as she dusted herself off a bit, the retort from Julian towards Nori never made anything better. In fact it always made things seem worse. She watched with wide eyes as Julian moved passed her and into the shop, making himself most comfortably at home, and by that it meant making everyone else uncomfortable. Laurie didn't dislike him, I mean she did slightly, he was always the cause of some sort of trouble not to mention he was mean to everyone and because of that Laurie could never see herself ever being friends with him. She wouldn't be able to tolerate him really.
She could see the look on Nori's face and from what it sounded like the girl was getting pretty irritated. Laurie didn't blame her, in fact she totally understood. He had an uneasy air around him. When she was comfortable on her stool, Laurie's head bowed slowly as she listened to everything that was going on. " You don't always have to be such a creep, Julian.." Laurie muttered under her breath where everything she said was basically spoken.
Her hands folded a bit gently together as she watched what was going to come next. She watched Nori move around and refer to him as sir, she watched the fake smile and she watched as Julian gloated in his little world. Just then the bell rang and Laurie turned her attentions towards the door. Kevin Ford otherwise known as Wither had just entered. This caused Laurie to perk up a bit and wave with a smile. " Hi Kevin." was her only words to him as he joined Julian and he smiled to her himself.
Laurie used to have a big crush on him and from that it was hard for her to talk to him when they first met. But when Josh entered the picture and saved her life, Laurie turned her fondness to him and found it way easier to talk to Kevin. Whether during their science lab projects or just as friends. He was one of the only Hellion members that Laurie really liked and considered a true friend, well except for maybe Sooraya, but she never really spoke to Laurie much. She seemed like a nice girl though, the rest well, the rest of the team seemed to like nothing more than to cause trouble. And it didn't take her much effort to notice that Cessily didn't like her at all, though Laurie was unsure why, she never did anything to the girl that she knew of. But oh well.
"I'll take a lemonade if you don't mind Nori. I mean..if its easier for you to get the two drinks at once or..well..whatever makes your life easier. I just well.yeah.." she could feel her cheeks getting warm again. Laurie was alot more outgoing compared to what she was like when she first arrived, but she still had ALOT of change to do. And it was obvious now. Without Sofia around, she never felt comfortable speaking her mind much.

His form was stiff as Julian pulled his head out of his ass just long enough to say a few things of distaste. “Oh piss off Julian, you’re not as good as you think you are…” his comment was low, almost inaudible but Julian heard it.
Eyes rolled. Kevin was only in the Hellions because he liked Ms. Frost rather than Dani. Because well, Emma stuck up for him when Dani was willing to let him go to jail. His blood still boiled at the thought of that. However, when he looked at Laurie-he still regretted leaving the New Mutant training squad..
A smile was caught on his lips as he walked up towards Laurie, leaving Julian to replace the log that’s shoved up his ass. “Hey Laurie… how’s your day goin? You’re a bit flushed… you alright?” Gloved hands rose to caress her face softly. Somehow, her face became even redder.
“Hey Nori…. “ he said, still smiling to Laurie but moving towards the waitress. He pulled a ten out of his pocket and turned his smile to Nori. Gloved hands fingered the green bills before handing them to the waitress behind the counter, taking the Lemonade and Pepsi together. “Keep the change…” for the Grind, that was over five dollars in change, but he didn’t care, he lived off the small inheritance his father left him… and worked a side job as well. He knew the trouble Nori had gotten herself into before coming to the New Mutants… so he wanted to help her out as well.
Turning to Laurie he smiled. “Come-on and sit with me… I gotta tell you I got this new job for a gardening company… I’m the weeder” His laughter was contagious, for it was rare he would laugh.

Julian scowled, it was just the type of guy he was. Arrogant, proud he knew he had power and looks and he used ever bit of it no matter what the situation. It’s what gave him that Magneto-complex. He believed it himself, sometimes. Mutants were better than humans. Even some mutants better than other mutants. “Creep. Nah…besides socity wants to try and make us fit in. So why not act like them?” his eyes rolled some towards Kevin. Though he’d stood up for the boy even planned a rescue mission for him, some times Julian didn’t care for him.
Leaning forwards he had a dark look in his eyes hidden in the sheen of green that was the hue color of his iris. “Laurie, you know what your problem is. Your too meek. Show some of the power you have, don’t let people walk all over you, you’ll never be more than just a doormat to them.” He looked at those around him as Nuriko shifted the other two ordering drinks and he arched some, spanning an hand around.
“Take a look around…these people don’t want to be in a world with us. Their scared of us, scared of the power we have, that we’ve evolved and they are still stuck in their little ses-pool like little swimming amoebas.” Arms crossed over his chest as he placed his back against his chair again. “I mean, we already know first hand don’t we. Us mutants got to stick together. After all who came after you when society brought you down, Kevin. It wasn’t the, ‘we need to be like everyone else’ mentality that was going to break you out. It was the Hellions. Though there was a snag…” his eyes shot to the members of the New Mutants team who’d tried to stop them.
His tone held that air about it, the one when he believed himself in what he was saying. The world didn’t want them, mutants, freaks of nature. They just wanted to go back to their little lives, hide all the mutants away, out of sight out of mind, and that was something Julian was never going to stand for.

Kevin eyed Julian, man did he annoy the hell out of them. “Julian… just being yourself is sometimes hard enough… sadly, some of us weren’t endowed with abilities you can hide.” Kevin turned and shook his head. Julian pissed him off royally today, and well, hell he just didn’t understand! Julian didn’t have to go around wearing gloves to protect other people like himself or Noriko. No Julian could just sit and be his pretty little self.
Suddenly the verbal attack on Laurie was enough to send Kevin overboard. “Alright Julian, at least she is polite. I don’t give two shits who saved me and who didn’t, fact is, you were all following orders. Ms. Frost sent you guys after me… Dani sent them to stop you all. So it doesn’t matter two shits wise about that, Julian.” His arms fell to his sides as the anger rose in his emerald orbs. “Julian listen… I know you don’t like the fact that I’m not a yes man like Rocky or Tag… but that’s just not who I am… and I am not a cold hearted person-“ he faltered for a moment, remembering his murder of Pierce, “I am not going to stop talking to them just ‘cause you said so… give me attitude… or they’re on another squad.”
Kevin finally took a breath and sat down in the chair at the table he was sharing with Laurie. However, instead of going on like a moron-something Julian would do… he was lost in thought, remembering how it was to kill Pierce… how different it felt when it happened to his father…. What was happening to him? Was he really turning into Julian’s type? Or was it just his heart that would overreact… and his mind that didn’t care.
His brows knitted as he thought… almost ignoring everything else said by anyone.

Head shook as he looked towards Kevin, always over reacting to something and with a hint of a sigh Julian moved and looked back over. “Woah, calm down there Wither…I wasn’t attacking your girlfriend. I’ll I was saying is that she can still be a nice girl and stand up for herself. Ever thought of letting her try? I don’t think enough people do. Take Ces for example, nice girl, and stands up for herself.”<br> He chuckled slightly as the boy went on his rant. “I think you should get your facts in order before you lash out there. Mrs. Frost had nothing to do with it. All she did was bring you back into the school and allow you to be a Hellion. It was my idea to come rescue you…and if this is the gratitude I get from it.” He snorted slightly. “It was Jay who told the rest of the New Mutants that we were going after you. And Josh’s pup of a girlfriend Rayne, who informed the rest of the school.”
Julian hid the smugness he felt. Emma Frost looked at him as one of her own little protégées. He’d gotten to pick his own codename, the team was named after him because she knew he could handle the leadership. And he had proven just that in their competitions and in the rescue attempt, even that Sofia had come with him. “ I just came for a cup of coffee and to relax. So why not try to do the same.” He smirked slightly as he shifted in the chair.

His eyes shot to Julian. “Well, not what I heard, buddy… but either way, you know how far my gratitude reaches… but I’m not a person to stay within a clique. Laurie was my friend first and foremost.” He shrugged some before sighing. “Plus, if she doesn’t want to speak up, she doesn’t have to… her voice is beautiful silent or loud.” He shrugged once more before leaning onto the table and closing his eyes.
Julian was right, he did come after him, but Ms. Frost had allowed him to. In his mind, sure it was a rescue mission-but it was also an attention cry to Sophia, this Kevin knew. Either way, however, Kevin heaved another sigh. “Hey Julian… I’m sorry… there’s just no reason to be shitty in public. Nori’s straight and Laurie’s awesome…” however, before he could comment about Julian being cool too… he commented about Josh and Rahne.
Standing up he eyed Julian. “I know you have issues with Josh, Julian… but that was a long time ago… and Laurie’s with him again… Rahne and him were done with.” For now… the truth of the matter was, Josh and Rahne had just kissed a few days ago, and now Kevin was talking to Josh on a serious basis… Laurie or Rahne, take your pick.
Then he shook his head and eyed Nori, his form walking to the counter. Now, just those thoughts drifting through his mind, how Laurie was with Josh and Julian was an ass… made him want to leave. “Hey, Nori… when do you get off?”<br>

"Oh I'm fine thanks Kevin. I just had a bit of a brush with someone." his hand fled to her cheeks and that only made them burn worse as the girl turned her eyes down. She could feel her nerves beginning, something Laurie didn't like. At the offer, it gave Laurie the perfect time to forget about everything and smile brightly. " Sure!" her movements were quick enough and she laughed gently at his mentioning of him being a weeder. How ironic was that.
Joining him at the table she smirked and played with the straw of her drink gently. " You didn't have to..I mean..well...I'll pay you back..I have money on me." her hands had fleeted away towards the pocket in her shirt, but it was caught short and she stopped.
Looking back towards Julian as he began to speak, when his words went on she could feel her face again becoming warmer and warmer. Her head itself began to tilt slowly down as she listened to them. Blond tresses moved to fall into her pale eyes. Kevin had joined in to defend her and everything against Julian and his word. Why did he have to be like this.
There was one thing that Laurie knew had changed about her since going to Xaviers and becoming friends with everyone especially Sofia, it's that she did have nerve, deep down she did. "Just because we have special talents doesn't give you the right to flaunt it in front of peoples face Julian. And it doesn't give you the right to think you are better than everyone else..when it comes down to it we are all the same." her words were soft, low and quiet, almost inaudible but very much spoken.
She wondered how Julian was taught to think like this, where it all came from. And when it came down to it, she just wanted everyone to stop fighting and just get along. She didn't like conflicts really.
"And I'll stand up for myself when I want to. Because you know what Julian, you haven't got a clue about people taking advantage of people." she spoke again, this time lowering her head even more as she seemed to be concentrating on something else as well. Just then her gaze lifted to Kevin and she smiled gently, he was protecting her, protecting everyone really. Kevin was a great guy, just like many of the others, to bad some people weren't though.
At just the mention of Josh's name, Laurie turned even more red and she could feel the fluttering in her stomach. Where was he anyways? Where was everyone else really.

Nori procured the requested beverages to each, and then returned to her duties behind the counter. Silently, internally fuming, she worked without side comment. She took in the back and forth debate her eyebrow arching skyward at this comment or that. For a few minutes she was drawn away from her fellow students as customers required her attention. And then her head turned up as her boss walked into the front door. Surge waggled a few fingers toward her as she leaned over the counter to answer Wither. “Actually I get off right now, I was just waiting for my boss to get back from her lunch break… lemmie go change out of this uniform and clock out.”<br> She disappeared into the back room, hastily grabbing up her backpack and entering the bathroom. Even without the gauntlets she would have had trouble changing in this tiny little closet space, but with the added trouble of the huge chunks of metal Surge fumbled to get her shit together with haste and managed to unleash a burst of speed enough to rip the strap of her tank top. “Shit!” She cursed, eyeing up the shirt and wondering if she tucked the pieces in if anyone would notice that it wasn’t designed to hang from just one shoulder. Eyes scanned to the three-button polo with the coffee shop logo and then to the mirror… decisions, decisions…<br> The blue-haired Asian exited the bathroom, looking much more at ease despite her torn shirt. Cargo pants hung low on her hips, the yellow tank top cut high enough to reveal her bellybutton, and her lips had a fresh application of gloss. Her bright eyes nearly glowed as she scanned over the growing crowd of mutants and norms. Naturally Julian was still here, gloating and talking too loudly, as usual. Kevin was chatting with Laurie, and her boss had replaced her spot behind the counter. With the backpack slung over her shoulder Noriko Ashida made her way into the throng.
“I just came for a cup of coffee and to relax. So why not try to do the same.”<br>She heard Julian’s smirking tenor and felt a twinge of distaste. “That’s the smartest thing you’ve said all day…” she retorted, gripping the back of his chair and giving the metal a little discharge of electricity.

It was few moments before Nori came back out… and in her relaxed outfit… it made him smile. For being different, she was still so normal. In a way, he envied her. She was lucky, he had to say that… she was beautiful and bright- hell she lasted however long she did out there before the New Mutants… and well, she had a job. All while he was making ends-meet being a weeder instead of what he really wanted. His form seemed to sigh before letting him smile. “Ready Nor?” he asked, needing to get the hell away from Julian. It was bad enough he was on the team with him… he didn’t need to hear his gloating and bragging outside of school too. That was another thing about Nori he liked… she was easy going. Sometimes… she was like him, wasn’t sure if she fit in with the New Mutants or not… however, unlike her, he took the chance and went to the Hellions. Walking out of the store, he held the door open for her and waited for her exit, only after giving Julian some frizzy hair. “You know… he’s not always like that Nori… I’m sorry… he just, likes attention…” he wanted to go ‘we’re not all like that’, but in a way, Kevin figured she knew. “Anyway, c’mon… lets go, I want to show you something at the park…” the park. Now that was a place he hadn’t gone in a long time. But Nori needed something to let go with… and his friend told him about a new exhibit going on… so it was the perfect thing. “So.. I uh, hope you like art…” was all he said as they walked towards the park just a few yards away. As they walked through the hedged entrance, the sculptures and paintings were up, paintings under a canopy so they wouldn’t get ruined. “Hey… come here Nori… I gotta show you this, it’s… my friends.” In honesty, it was his… but he didn’t want to say anything. Many of his classmates didn’t know about his love for industrial art. www.library.uni.edu/speccoll/images/artindustrial1.jpg [/img] “The sculpture.. it becomes a giant kaleidoscope when the sun hits it right… because of the changing light patterns coming through the rods. It’s best around sunset…” which was only an hour away. “Oh and here…” www.fountainsdecorandmore.com/images/products/HG121sm.jpg [/img] “My friend calls it… just plainly Gears…” His gloved hand traced the curves of the metal. “Each curve is symbolic to sensuality and enlightenment… yet everything connects…” For a moment, his emerald orbs seemed to be off thinking… in truth, he missed his art… he missed the art form all together. “Wait here for a minute….” He laughed some and nodded, disappearing by a stand before coming back holding something behind his back. “I can’t pick real ones… but I figured this was good enough…” he smiled once more before pulling the industrial art from behind his back. The metal flower www.co.larimer.co.us/DEPTS/PUBWOR/natres/GG/MetalFl.jpg [/img] glistened in the sun as he handed it to her. “So you can remember your trip to the park with me…” After handing it, he turned, once again lost in his own world. But that’s how Kevin was, never expecting thank-you’s or anything… just, Kevin. His head dropped some as he moved towards the canopy that housed the paintings. As he walked, his hands fell to his side.

“He shoots, he scores! Oh yeah. Foley in the house.” Index fingers pointed at his competition as he did an impromptu dance on the basketball courts, out of everything in life he loved basket ball the most. It was just freeing they way you could exude energy and still feel good after words. Not like the Danger Room sessions they were starting in. Josh Foley aka Elixir fit in well here. Though blonde hair and his typical style would make you think he was from California. But he was a golden boy in more ways than one. Not only was his hair a golden blonde but his entire skin glistened as if he had King Midis’ touch.
Like everyone around him, he was a mutant. While some had real active or defensive ones, his weren’t. He was as they described to him at least, an Omega-Class Healer. So if anyone on his team was ever in trouble he had their back. It’s why Danielle Moonstar came up with the codename Elixir for him, and he was a member of the New Mutants squad. Of course his biggest rival was Julian Keller. The two boys just didn’t get along. Eyes scanned up to the windows of the mansion as drapes quickly shut from the one window he knew she was watching from. Rayne another mutant only a few years older than he was, so she’d been watching him.
There was a sort of angst between them, a forbidden romance he was a student she was now an instructor. Of course in the mix was Laurie, he didn’t want to give her the wrong ideas she was a nice girl and he did like her, but there was just something about Rayne he couldn’t ignore. But his mind lingered on thoughts of Laurie he jerked out of them. “Oh no..I’m late. Damn it. Sorry guys gotta go.” Turning Josh took off at a dead sprint for the Grind Stone, where they were all supposed to be meeting to hang out after Nori got off.
When he got there a frazzled Julian spat that they’d gone off towards the park and stomped off back towards the manor, an electrical shock running up into the tips of his dark spiked hair, while he muttered about Nori. Running now towards the park he started to go over the crest of a hill spotting the trio just in front of him, Kevin extending something out to the girls.
