Linda stepped aside and let Clark make his call. When she did she took a seat by the bartop counters and tried as hard as can be not to listen. She didn't like snooping...even when her name is mentioned. But soon enough the phone was put back down and they were headed back out the door. But not after she gave a bit of response. " Kinda like Roswell huh? Aliens...sure they exist.." she gave a slight chuckled and looked away almost oddly.
It started to rain just a moment earlier which meant they both took a slight jog back to the truck. Once inside the cab the engined roared to life and they were off. In some direction or place she was unsure. It wasn't towards her grandmothers, and it wasn't anywhere she recognized. But she didn't question it, she remained silent the whole trip and not a word was said. There was just to much running through her mind right now.
But before she could ponder on things for to long the truck stopped and she watched suddenly as Clark searched for something in his glove department. A flashlight. Raising a brow slowly she had a slight quizzical look to her face but still there was no words. Just silence as she stepped from the truck and was lead through the once dark area into a cave. This was getting interesting indeed. Things about this cave however proved to be odd. She looked about the walls with wonder and as quiet as ever.
Suddenly they stopped at a rather familiar symbol upon the wall. She heard the voice of Clark behind her but her form seemed to move on its own. As he spoke she moved close to the symbol and placed a hand over it slowly. Her eyes lowering as they began to tear up a bit. It reminded her of home, her real home, a place that was no longer there, a place she missed so much. Her parents, her family..why did it all have to happen. She never responded to his words that was until his last bit and the questions. She whispered the name a bit louder suddenly. "Jor-El" it was time to come out with the truth, if he knew this place he knew other things. He had some connection. "He was my uncle. He was killed along with my aunt and cousin when out planet was destroyed. Someone should have seen it sooner...they should have helped sooner.." with a sigh she looked up at him with wet soaked eyes. And as sincere looking as could be. " You look so much like him Clark.. except your eyes..they are like Lara's. If it was possible..I'd peg you for their son Kal-El. But he died with them...it was so unfair.." her eyes shot down again to the ground. This was becoming to much for her to bare right now. To much to remember. The scars and sorrow were still as fresh as ever.

Clark’s eyes looked over the walls once again. He was starting to learn the language of his home. Of his parents, of a life he would have lived if not for the destruction of Krypton. He swallowed thinking about everything that had been changing in his life. The first time he had learned of Jor-El. Of who he really was. Sometimes he could still feel where he’d been burned against his chest. No force on earth had been able to do such. Destiny. Eyes looked up to Linda as she moved going closer to the symbol.
Was it destiny again that he’d run into her in the cornfields. It was always weird meeting someone with powers. Like Wally. Like Arthur. He even had a super-powered pup, of course his origins weren’t quite the same. There was silence in the caves. Silence from Linda as well as she studied the walls. Clark let her. He had so many questions of his own. Turning some he looked back to the opening then, once again back to the girl as she spoke his name. The name of his father, of Jor-El. It still didn’t make sense to him how she knew it until she spoke again.
Clark had started to move forwards and then he stopped. Swallowing hard he stood still. It felt like a ton had fallen upon his shoulder. Listening to her talk about their deaths. When Krypton was destroyed. Muscles in his cheeks tightened as he looked straight at her. Why was the connection he felt so strong, was it the caves or something more. Clark turned his face away. “Someone should have seen it sooner…they should have helped sooner…” Brows knitted as he looked back up, Linda had turned to him with tear soaked eyes. The painful memories she must have brought up. He was just a baby when his parents sent him off for a chance at life. Gave up theirs for his safety.
“You look so much like him Clark…except your eyes…they are like Lara’s.” Clark swallowed his emotions again. So many things were bubbling to the surface. So much he wanted to say. To ask. And then she said his name. His real name. A name only his parents knew. The flashlight dropped against the ground, the light flickered for a moment, then just shone against the wall. “How do you know all this? How did you escape Krypton?” She’d been honest with him. Clark had an overwhelming feeling that she had been. It was only fair he did the same. But it changed everything. He’d always thought he was alone, and now he had family. Not that Martha and Jonathan weren’t his family. It was just now, he had a real family, someone just like him. But how was it that she was near the same age as he was.
Clark stepped closer taking in a deep breath. Blue eyes turned towards Linda. “Will you tell me about them?” when he saw her quizzical stare he kept going. “My parents. We’re they good people…I have no memory of them. I was just a baby. The time the first meteor showers came to Smallville I crash landed here. The Kent’s took me in as their own son. When I started doing things normal children couldn’t…I… Felt alone. Then it changed and I started learning about my past. Where I was really from.” Moving forwards he stopped short of Linda, the flashlight on the ground causing his shadow to fall across the symbol on the wall. “Linda…my name, my real name is…Kal-El.”

She expected this to be odd, to have questions or words flung her way. Afterall somehow Clark knew about this place, a place that surely would have been hidden in some way. And after all if he was allowed to see these images..then something was up with him right? But aside from the oddness, she didn't expect to hear his words. Words that as he drew near caused her eyes to widden. Stare at him in utter and complete shock. Could it be? It was unthinkable..but surely possible right? "Kal.." her voice was soft as she repeated part of his name. He was alive! ALIVE!?
Her form was shocked and excited all at the same time. So much so that she without a thought and a realization that everything made sense now, spread her arms far apart and leapt towards him. Pulling him into a tight hug as if she hadn't seen him in forever and thought him dead...which well in this case was true. She hadn't seen him in forever and now it all made sense. His face, his features, the resemblance to Jor-El and of course yes...his eyes. Her cousin was alive..she was no longer alone here. She had real family. "I'm Kara Zor-El. Really" she said with a grin.
Suddenly after a moment of just hugging him close she let go and stepped back. Pure joy having infiltrated her body. She was trying so hard not to jump up and down on the spot. " Your parents Kal...I mean Clark. They were the best people. Lara and Jor-El were so full of love and life and everything. I remember them like they were here. Like Jor-El was sharing one of his amazing stories and like Lara was being as kind as she ever was. They are alot like you present family Clark...the Kents. From what i've seen. They are the people who don't deserve that hurt and pain that worlds have to offer. I wish they could be here Clark...that you could have met them. Its unfair really..that I got to spend more time with them then you. I'm really sorry about that Clark..really. And I promise I won't ever go away." she bowed her head just slowly and then the other question she had put aside needed some explaination she supposed.
"How do you know all this? How did you escape Krypton?" She had to take a moment to remember it, even though it was clear as day as well. "It's a long story....we better sit down.." she slowly took a seat on a large boulder and waited for him to follow before she continued. "well..my father, Zor-El was your fathers brother. They were great friends but we didn't live in the same city. I come from Argo City. The Capital of Krypton and grand place. When we found out that the world was destroying itsef, I was only a little girl about 6. My father was a leading scientist and he found a way to sheild Argo City from destroying itself...unfortunatly there wasn't time to help the rest of Krypton and well we were left to float as just one city now. My father felt so bad that he couldn't help anyone else..and we didn't know you were sent out into space. Soon though..about two years later, the sheild began to fail and we were doomed to the same fate the rest of Krypton was. My father created a pod that would send me into space so like yourself I was launched out. Funny thing was I didn't make it here for a way...the astroids that came with me all got stuck in some sort of hole or something. I dont remember but the next thing I do...was I was descending towards this planet here. I crashed with the meteors and was found and well had the same fate as you did..Placed in an orphanage before being adopted." she smiled slightly and uncomfotably before looking at him again. " I should be older than you in reality but I'm the same age...funny how things work and time can be stopped...in the blink of an eye.." she lowered her eyes slowly again before saying softly. " I promised to look after you once when I was a kid...and now that you are alive...I hold that promise..even if you don't need it" the smile returned slightly and she glanced up at him again.
Then a preculiar expression came onto her face.."I'm not sure why we have these...these powers...since I know you do now. I can't explain it..the only theory I have is the sun...on Krypton it wasn't that colour...yellow like it is here...otherwise I don't know why we are different...I...I'm glad I found you."

“Kal.” It was weird to hear someone else, other than his father, Jor-El’s voice call him by his true name. Clark had come to fit him well. He watched the shock in her eyes at the revelation. She knew about him. Though him dead like his parents. Like hers. And the rest of their planet. Still there he stood in the flesh. Clark wasn’t sure what to expect when this had all started. When she questioned him. Let alone was he expecting to find family.
Arms closed around him in a tight hug, and for a moment he hesitated. Soon it didn’t matter. His arms moved around her hugging her nearly as strong as she him. It was different than hugging his parents, or Chloe even. But it felt good. Like something he’d missed for far too long. Or like snow on Christmas, it just gave him a warm feeling. Then she pulled away and Clark let her go. And she introduced herself. “Kara Zor-El. My cousin. It still feels weird…to know I have an actual cousin. Family.”
She moved and talked about his parents, Jor-El and Lara. Comparing them to Martha and Jonathan Kent. He loved his earth parents and nothing or anyone could ever change that. But what Linda was telling him now, was something he needed. He swallowed as he listened for a moment, his emotions got the better of him and he wiped a hand down his face. Because at the same time it was hard to listen too. She invited him to sit down, and he shifted sitting on the ground his back leaning against the bolder she sat upon. As she retold her tale of Kryptons destruction and fall. That she arrived in a similar fashion to him, taken in and raised by humans. Clark reached up taking her hand. “We’ll look out for each other.”
He was glad she found him too. It was one more person who could share his secret. “My parents know about me, and Chloe. You’d really like her. She’s the only other person who knows my secret. And now you.” A brow quirked as she talked about her powers and he turned to look up at her. “Do you have all the same powers I do? Can you fly? ” Clark thought for a moment about everything she said, the explanations she gave. The he wondered something, did she know about Kryptonite? He moved standing up, dusting his jeans off. His features took on a slightly serious look as he looked to his cousin. “Have you ever had any experience with the meteors? It’s ironic really, the only pieces left of Krypton…are the only things that can hurt us the most. We should go.” His head shook off the bad experiences he’d had in the past with both green and red kryptonite and looked back. Then he remembered, Lois. His parents. Reaching down he picked up the flashlight. “I have to tell my parents. Don’t worry they can keep it secret. I’d sort of said something’s to my mom already. About when we ran into each other in the cornfield. I was using my speed. I guess you were too. I bet they are almost to the station by now.”

Suddenly a hand came to grab her own and she looked down as the contact was made. Looked down right at him with her brows raised. Then at his words she couldn't help but smile and feel for the first time like she was not alone. Like she finally belonged. "Deal" was her only words.
He then pressed on in their important discussion. She felt like she lost a life time with him and they had so much to catch up on. The most important at the moment was the fact that his parents knew and some girl named Chloe. She wasn't sure if she could trust them at all with knowing this about her, but somehow deep downs he knew that if Clark said they were alright to entrust then she believed him. She trusted him. "I haven't told my parents, I've managed to keep it hidden with alot of effort. And somehow I don't want them to know....But...if you think your parents are trustworthy then I don't have any other choice but to believe you. What do you think they will say to this? Mine...are going to be stunned.." she laughed gently at the thought of it.
Then the second important thing, powers. She spoke of these funny powers and suddenly he had words of his own to add. "I'm...I'm not entirely sure. I did manage to levitate a bit but as far as trying to actually fly...I've sat that one out. But I do have some other odd tricks..which well I guess from the sounds of it you have too....super hearing, super speed, super strength, some type of lazer eye thing...and seeing through walls...some pretty super stuff if you ask me." she laughed a bit more and couldn't help but look around again before speaking softly. "This place..it feels nice. It feels like home...real home."
Standing as he searched to catch the flashlight. Kara smirked some more with a rather curious look about her. "So are we going to bust out your friend there? Or at least try to help a bit...if they ARE at the station...we can get there alot faster on foot. But truck is good too..." she turned a bit and waited to follow him out before she spoke again. About something even more serious.."Oh uh..Clark. About your friend that was taken away. I think her and that guy she was with might be a bit suspicious of me. See.....I was hit by a car and the car well it didn't do so good. They were first on the scene and they saw me get up and take off. I'm working hard on a cover story. Maybe something about they only side swipped me but pretty well missed. And I was only winded and not hurt. I'm sorry...I didn;t have my head about me."

Clark looked up towards Linda, feeling a bit relieved that he had another confidant. Family. They made a deal, they would look out for each other. The Kansas farm boy smiled once again. She hadn’t told her parents, keeping her powers secret for so long. He would never had been able too. Not from his parents. Living and growing up with them, it was clear he was very different. And the fact they found him in the corn-fields as a baby in a spaceship. “I’m not asking you to trust who I do. Well…except my parents. They would never tell anyone, ever. I’m their son. They are my parents. They know a lot. But you can trust me, my secret is your secret.”
It was true, they were cousins from the same planet. They had the same powers. Weakness. Clark’s weight shifted as he looked up listening to Linda as they now talked about powers. Dark hair bobbed with his head as he nodded. “I’ve only flown once. It was amazing. I wish I could do it all the time…Same here. Super hearing, speed, strength. Obviously the heat vision, since you called me on the tape thing. I can see through things as long as they aren’t lead coated.” It was nice to talk to someone who understood what he was going through. To feel what he felt. Almost power for power. He found it in Linda, the girl he’d crashed into in the middle of a corn field.
After Clark had got the flashlight he looked over the walls once more, and Linda. He half stopped when she talked about busting them out. “No, we can’t do that… but we can find out what is going on. Chloe is a pretty good detective reporter. I don’t believe that Lois could do something like murder.” The rain still fell as he walked to the truck opening it up and climbing inside. Turning the key the truck moved as he backed up driving away from the caves towards town. Where Lois was. Where his parents were heading. Blue eyes looked over to Linda while his mind tried to think of a story. “We could say you were at dinner with me. I mean, you were Lois wouldn’t have known. They left just before we got there. Act like we’ve been hanging out prior to that.” After a while the truck pulled in front of the station and he saw his parents walking up to the doors. With another reassuring smile to Linda he exited calling his parents over to them. Martha rushed over to see if he was alright, so try and find out what news he had, when she saw Linda. “Oh…Linda. I thought Clark was taking you home.” “It’s ok mom, we called her Grandma. Besides there is something I wanted to tell you. But lets see if Lois is ok first.”

Rainwater plastered his shirt against his back. Shoulder blades poked against the slick fabric, showing off the muscle tone that had earlier been a bit more obscured. Hands clenched knuckle white against the gun slide as he jammed it harder against the mugger’s throat. His teeth grimaced as he seemed to fight the edge between killing the man and stopping. In his blind rage he barely noticed that the mugger could hardly stand.
“…Bruce…” He blinked away the rainwater, dropping the man and running a hand over his face. His muscles twitched, as his head turned to look over to Chloe. Silently he stared, finally breaking the moment of freeze-framed animal instinct as he stepped toward her. “Are you alright?” Bruce recognized the fear in her eyes. The accusatory shock. Had be become like the very monsters that he vowed to destroy? From what he saw on her face he was as dark as the man who had attacked them.
His hand reached out to touch her shoulder. Internally he winced as he saw her tense her frame. She didn’t trust him. Could he blame her? “I’m going to call the cops, why don’t you sit down…” Bruce gingerly took her keys, opened the passenger door of the car, and led her to the half-suitable shelter from the elements. He stood in the rain, a cellular phone to his ear, as he detailed the situation. It wasn’t long before they were in the local police department, sitting before the Sheriff’s desk and making their statements.

Chloe wasn’t sure what to say, or how to react. Bruce had just gone off. Of course he was highly trained, but to go like that. Part of her was scared. She didn’t want to be afraid of Bruce. He’d been almost charming as they shared dinner. But there was almost something dualistic about his personality. Form shivered once from the rain, being soaked to the bone with water. Beads clung to her black lashes as she blinked looking up to Bruce who’d let the mugger go and moved closer to her.
“Are you alright?” She nodded slightly, not able to find her voice in that moment. Teeth chewed her bottom lip. Something still bothered her. Luthor. Form tensed as he reached down to touch her. It was a reaction. Mind was racing. Slowly she stood as Bruce guided her to the car. Arms wrapped around her form as she sat in the passenger seat. Eyes danced up to watch Bruce still out in the rain as he spoke to police. Soon enough a patrol was there taking the man away and they were asked to head to the station to give their statements.
For a while she was silent as Bruce drove. Rain pelting the window and the wipers swishing them away in a rhythmic motion. Eyes watched the wet Kansas landscape pass them by as they drove down to the station. Face turned and she looked towards him. Fingers moved to turn on the heat a little higher. Both of them were still soaked. “I’m sorry…” She whispered softly folding her hands together in her lap. There was a soft shiver and she looked back towards him trying to give a half-hearted smile. “Sometimes I get a little too wrapped with my whole conspiracy theories. My mind is sometimes that way. Thank you… for stepping in.” Even if he’d stepped too far, she was grateful he’d intervened. That man’s arm around her brought back bad memories. Some of them were her own doing. Being too nosy for her own good. Too curious. Always trying to find out the truth.

Shortly after Bruce and Chloe were escorted into the police station, it was clear that although the pair was attacked, that the police were more than concerned for Chloe’s wellbeing considering the extensive damage that Bruce had done. AS Bruce answered questions to the local sherrif he got a feel for her. She was not some big fish in a small town. She didn’t consider herself any higher than the peoples, and that was well appreciated. Bruce read her well. She’d seen things; things that couldn’t be explained, but this was as plain as black and white to a seasoned officer like her. Given her jurisdiction, he was glad she was as open minded about the whole thing.
“Mr. Wayen, if you didn’t come so highly recommended by General Lane, I would be talking to you from inside of an interrogation room. But the man who attacked you was straight with us. I don’t know where you learned that kind of self-defense Mr. Wayne, but I have faith you’ll use better judgment in the future; regardless of the excuse. I just hope you realize what you did to that young man, and are thankful he isn’t pressing charges.” Bruce nodded, but he couldn’t look at Chloe, nor did he seem that remorseful. “Where I come from crime is an everyday event. I’ve come to learn that there is no excuse for it. I know my methods seemed harsh, but it really was self-defense.” “This isn’t Gotham Mr. Wayne. I trust you’ll remember that when you walk out that door.”
Again Bruce nodded pushing out his chair and reaching across the desk to shake her hand. Finally he came to look at the intrepid reporter. “I can see it now,” he said with a low voice as they walked toward the front doors, “Boy-billionaire tossed out of small town by angry mob…” his eyes now finally saddening a little. “I wasn’t kidding back there when I said I wasn’t sorry for what I did. I’m not. I’m sorry for that man’s desperation. I’m sorry for what he almost did to you. But I’m not sorry that I was there to protect you.” Bruce went to say something more when he saw Lois Lane and Richard White being walked in; both in handcuffs. His mouth fell agape. “Lois?”

The rest of the trip to the station had been in silence. Eyes watched the wet Kansas landscape passing by. At the station it seemed more busy than usual. Especially for a small town like Kansas. They’d been separated from each other interviewed out in the open rather than interrogation rooms. Once she looked across to the desk and the officer Bruce was with. She couldn’t hear the conversation but she was sure they were setting him straight best they could. As she told her end of the events. “I’m not afraid for my wellbeing around Bruce.” Her eyes shot up to the office who had been questioning her. As he double checked before he allowed her to go.
With a sigh she pushed still wet tresses back from her face. Bruce was released moments later. She stared at him, while he lowered his voice. “I can see it now. Boy-billionaire tossed out of small town by angry mob…” “…wielding pitchforks and torches.” The blonde reporter fell silent again as he continued in his hushed voice. Chloe glanced away before finding his gaze once again. There was a raw power in Bruce. And this untapped rage. Hints of which she’d seen. The way he fought to protect someone else. “Lois?” “What?”
Chloe spun around dropping off the blanket the offices had given her to wrap up in. There was her cousin being escorted in by police. Orbs widened. Of course she figured Bruce must have known Lois. After all Uncle Lane was General over Bruce. The young reporter saw something different. Something in her cousin. Moving she stopped as the officer extended his arm. “I’m sorry Miss Sullivan. I can’t let you come any closer.” “That’s my cousin. I have to talk to her.” The officer just shook his head towards the blond. What was going on here. What could Lois possibly have done to cause this.
Chloe found herself at the side of Bruce once again. A questioning look holding her soft features. A hint of worry in her eyes. It was part of who she was to try and find the answers. And not knowing or being allowed to question made her restless. Familiar voices started to drift in as she saw Martha and Jonathan Kent enter the door. Speaking to the front desk. Eyes scanned past them. Coming up behind them was the tall Clark Kent. Watching him mover further in she called out his name. “Clark!” Recognizing that look on his face. One of worry. Confusion. On part of Lois and now herself. Wet form couldn’t have been something he wanted to see. And then there was something more. As he took notice of the young man she was standing so close to. Who was also soaked to the bone.

Clark knew he had to tell his parents. Tell them that he was no longer alone. He had family. Linda was actual family. Not that the Kents weren’t his family. They would always be his family. No matter where he went, or who he became. Martha would always be his mother. And Jonathan would always be his father. Blue eyes glanced towards Linda then back to his parents “Well come on lets get out of this rain.” Urged Mrs. Kent to the small group. She was inside in a matter of moments. Clark stood outside just a little longer. Feeling the rain pelting his form. Flattening his dark hair.
It wasn’t long after his parents that he entered. Instantly listening with his hearing for anything about Lois. Or anything out of the ordinary. There seemed to be a handful of cases. One involving Chloe Sullivan and a young man by the name of Bruce Wayne. “Clark!” He shifted his weight as he heard his name louder than the rest of the station. There she was soaking. Standing so close to someone he’d never seen, nor met before. For a moment he looked worried at the appearance of his close friend. But he couldn’t help himself from looking at the young man. Eyes scanned him up and down if sizing him up.
“Are you alright? What happened?” Stepping forward Clark gave Chloe a hug looking over her. Releasing her he straightened. The young man of steel looking once more at Bruce. Was part of him jealous? He glanced over his shoulder to Linda then back to Bruce as he extended his hand. “Clark Kent and you are?” Blue eyes looked back to Chloe. Noting the worried hints in them. She must have seen Lois as they brought her in. Motioning towards his parents he looked at the pair. “They are trying to find out what bail is for Lois and the guy she was with. Richard I think. Did they let you talk to her? I saw her get arrested. I was heading to drop Linda off and stopped by the Talon.” Clark watched Chloe trying to see if she’d pick up on him. On the fact that he knew something more because of who he was. That he knew Lois was in there because there was a body in the car. That both Lois and Richard were prime suspects in a murder.

It was such a shock to her that Kal was still alive, and living a nice life here on Earth. She was afraid that she had lost him forever, and that he would never be found. Fortunatly fate had a funny way sometimes. She was so happy down to her very core that she wanted to fly up and scream it out to the world that she wasn't without family anymore, that there was hope for everyone, and that she found her blood. Of course a giant hug would be all she could do for now.
Nodding gently they made their exit, and with a slight glance back, she turned her attentions on the thing at hand. "Well...I guess if you trust her then I do too." with a brightened smile she nodded affirming her words and they made their way back to town. To the police station it seemed. Linda didn't mind not going home just yet, she wanted to spend as much time with Clark as she could. She didn't want to go home, not for a while. Of course that night she would go home, until then it was time to cherish the time she had with him.
When they arrived at the station they were greeted by Mrs. Kent. Linda really did like that woman, she was so nice and geniunely so. "We got a little side tracked Mrs. Kent. But my grandmother trusts me when I tell her I'm fine and in good hands." she smiled warmly to the woman, and would thank her again and again for the delicious meal and warm hospitality. Somehow she felt she would see the woman more in the future. That she would welcome gladly. "Well come on lets get out of this rain." Linda looked very much forward to that as well. With a sudden gentle arm around her own, Linda was calmly ushered into the building. But Clark stayed behind, even if it was only for momenst. Before Linda entered with Mrs Kent though, she took a moment to glance back with a smile at Clark. And interesting expression also on her face. She didn't want to loose him, not now that she just found him.
It wasn't long inside that Mrs. Kent was speaking to people along with Mr. Kent. Linda was left to stand silently near the door way, just listening around the are. She didn't want to pry to much, but she did want to help them all find out what happened to their friend. From out of no where Linda snapped her eyes in the direction of the yell of Clark's name. It came from a blond haired girl whom she never met before, as as Clark stood near but slightly in front of her, there was a hug exchanged. She watched silently with curious eyes as Clark glanced back towards her. Taking a sudden slight step forwards, nearing Clark from behind just a bit, she looked at the girl before a smile came over her face. Not the very well shy gal, her hand raised towards the girl and she seemed as cheerful as ever. "Hi, I'm well..Linda."

Long strides carried him alongside Chloe as she demanded an audience with Lois and was immediately shot down. He hadn’t really expected anything different. The 20th century had more lawyers looking for judicial loopholes to acquit their clients, more shady cops and the percentage of unsavory elements to the human equation was enough to solidify his vow. Bruce remained silent as Martha and Jonathon hurried past to go and talk to the arresting officers. Whatever had happened Bruce knew the truth of it the moment he saw Lois. She wasn’t guilty.
“Are you alright? What happened?” He ignored the accusatory question, his eyes shifting to the intrepid reporter and then back to the boy who was eyeballing him. His jaw clenched a little. Clark was everything Bruce would have expected out of a normal Rockwell rendition of the classic country-boy next door. He extended his hand, feeling that Clark’s grip was a little too tight, and that his frame was just a bit too straight. The guy didn’t like him. Just like with Lois, he could tell. Reading people was a knack he’d worked hard on. He knew that it was the first step when engaging a potential enemy…
“Bruce Wayne…” He listened to what Clark had to say about Lois’ situation before shooing a hasty look in Chloe’s direction. “I hate to cut this short, but I better go call General Lane. Excuse me.” Without another word he exited the police station, walking to the nearest phone booth and stepping inside. Quarters dropped and digits dialed, his eyebrow shifting skyward as the line connected. “Alfred, I’m going to be staying here in Smallville a bit longer than I thought. Yes… I’ll meet you at the airport tomorrow morning. See what you can arrange to rent out a house. Something a little away from town.”

The ride over was quiet. Lois wanted to reassure Richard that everything was going to be alright, but she wasn’t able to. Once they arrived they were being ushered so quickly past the front desk she barely had time to recognize the fly-boy Gothamite himself, and her very own cousin on his arm. Had the situation been different she would have been the first in line to investigate this, but as it stood now she was in no position. To be frank she was scared; and that was a rare thing for the usually headstrong girl. Her eyes caught Chloe’s as she was pushed past, and then fell upon Bruce’s. It was only a matter of time now before her father was going to make a cameo.
After processing, Lois was dumped into a holding cell. She rubbed ink from her fingers with an annoyed expression on her face as her eyes took in the sights. “Oh great an indoor outhouse,” she complained. Sitting heavily on the bunk, Lois sighed and then lay down. Her eyes studied the ceiling as she mulled over the events of the evening. She wasn’t tired, and when they came back to retrieve her for questioning, she was up and on her feet quickly. “Coffee?” The officer asked as he rounded the table. Lois nodded anything to distract her from this whole thing. Fingers snapped and then he gestured to the other police officer to comply.

Wally rambled and muttered to himself the whole way back home to Keystone, why they called him he wasn’t really sure. The speedster had the impression they didn’t want him there causing trouble didn’t want him racing around Metropolis either so Smallville had be the next best choice besides his buddy was there. Clark was a good guy type while he had an edge to him. He couldn’t really help it, being like Clark was too much a pain in the ass but it got the girls.
All Wally cared about was just getting back to Smallville try to get one of the half dozen doting boy scout loving girls to show some attention to him. The tall dark haired one wasn’t bad, Lois, yeah she had a quick wit. There was a snag though the suit with her, the guy with the Mustang. The screen door closed behind him as morning started to break. “Yo, hello? Hello, hello-jello-hello…oh eek ah Clark save me…heeeellllllooooooo...Kents?” he moved quickly back outside, kicking up dust as he searched the perimeter. “Damn I always miss everything.” He shrugged and headed back inside, might as well take advantage of the bed. Flopping down Wally fell asleep as quickly as he could run.
