Kevin finally came out of the room and he seemed more happy than anyone to see Jamie here. Then she also noticed the strange look on his face as well that she hadn't had before, like he had seen something shocking that he could talk about. And just like that her own mind began to grow concerned about Jamie as well. How could she have took so long to notice that something was up.
But before she could react much Kevin spoke to her. "Damnit Cess, she’s still a teacher… you don’t bitch about Dr. Grey or Professor Logan do you? And they’re still new… so lay off, they were only here a week longer than her." At first her eyes were wide and shocked at his reaction. And when he moved towards the woman and gave her a hug and acted as if they were the best of friends something inside Cessily began to ache. Was she becoming a bit jealous? No, Cess would deny that.
Narrowing her eyes slowly she didn't even turn back to Sofia or Jamie as she said rather flatly. "Yeah well, if they told me to do crap I didn't want to I would. Theres only one person who should be bossing me around and she isn't here now is she. No they screwed that up and sent her off, I was happy with Miss Frost. " her voice was low and somewhat angry sounding. Everything was changing so much she didn't like it. Everything that was going on was creating a stress on her shoulders that she didn't care to deal with, nor let anyone else care to deal with either or know much about.
Suddenly the woman said something to Kevin and ran off towards the direction Colossus went. Something was happening it seemed, like always in the X mansion, and unusal for Cess as it was she didn't care. "And I don't need you babysitting me either Kevin, especially not for the sake of your new girlfriend." Cessily was not acting like herself lately that was easy to see. Her voice was cold and she didn't say another word as she pressed by him and everyone else towards the girls dormitories.
Once there she slipped into her room and noticed the lights were dark. Her roommate was already asleep. Sighing gently she moved to the end table that housed the phone and dialed out. "Hi Mom, Merry Christmas, say that to dad to Ok for me." The woman on the other line didn't seem pleased to hear from her at all. "Mom please. I..I'm still sorry...I.." there was another raise of the voice on the other line before a click and they were gone. "I just want you to love me again." A tear slowly moved down her cheek as she lowered her head and hung up the phone. She climbed onto her bed and pulled her knees to her chest, placing her head on her folded arms, she did the thing she always did when no one was around, she began to cry softly.

His eyes widened. “Yeah well I miss Miss Frost too, but you can’t take it out on her… she was just shoved into that position man.” Then she said something he wasn’t ready for. "And I don't need you babysitting me either Kevin, especially not for the sake of your new girlfriend." Cess stormed off… and he knew she was right. He was just an asshole there. “Wait Cess!” He turned quickly to see her disappear the way towards her dorm. “I didn’t mean to snap at you…” he blinked a few times.
He wanted to go after her, but he knew better. Walking into the room his eyes snapped at Sophia who hopefully got the hint that now was the time to let him and Jamie be alone. Aka go to bed. However this was Kevin… once Jamie would fall asleep… Kevin would be out and working in the back shed in his little area.
For some reason though… he decided Jamie needed time on his own. “Hey Jamie… you know I’m always here for you man… but I think I’ll let you be for now ok? If you need me for any reason, just go to the shed and get me… I need to work out some frustration.” He smiled and gave his friend a tight squeeze on the shoulder.
He bundled up quickly and was outside as if he didn’t have to go down stairwells and sneak out. His mind was racing. He had most of his presents done-just now he needed to create another.

In some way, Penance just seemed at a dead stop. She liked this silver girl, although it was her who initiated the fight in a way between them both at her arrival. It was strange that she could change her opinion on such short notice. Taking a breath her head shook.
By now the children were all gone from the room-she had stayed in there and shooed everyone out when the little ones tried to sneak in. She surely was no Santa Claus… possibly a Santa Claws though. No pun intended. The thought made her laugh slightly… how long had in been though? She hadn’t been home in how long? No one would recognize her now.
Running her sharp fingers over her straps for a uniform… Penny, as Jubilee had once called her, stretched as 1am rolled around. No more kids tried to wander their way in, she would have noticed by now. Standing slowly she began to walk out, arms folded slightly as she let memories swirl. Her life, and once more no pun intended, was a mystery and a dark void. Some memories came-while others lingered. She wanted to get to them… she wanted to remember! But she couldn’t.
She found herself doing her rounds, as most teachers do, arms still crossed and seemingly blissfully deaf to the world. That is until she came across one room where the weeps of a girl were too much for her to handle. She had stood there listening for a moment, but she couldn’t stay out. Using her finger as a pick, she softly opened the door with the wrapped part of her hand and stepped in. To her surprise her senses were assaulted by the metallic smell of her new found ‘friend’ Mercury.
Head cocked as blue pupil-less orbs stared out towards her friend. She was sobbing, why? Moving close to her friend’s bedside she made sure not to touch anything as she moved in, and eyed the girl. She couldn’t say much of anything for obvious reasons, but the look in her eyes- even without pupils would let anyone know she was worried.

Brown eyes grew wide at Kevin, yes there was something going on here. Sure Sofia was one to defend the teachers, but not that much. Plus, Kevin was chastising his own team-mate, this was indeed a side of Wither no one had seen before.
Looking back and forth from Cessily to Kevin, Sofia also looked to Jamie wondering if he felt as out of place as she did in all of this, but what she saw in his face was something other then acknowledgement to what was going on before him… it was something else that his face was expressing, it was like he had witnessed something big before arriving here, something possibly important. The young woman was just about to ask him what was going on when Kevin moved passed them and down the hall to where Rogue stood and just like Cessily ( only minus the obvious surge of jealousy), Sofia was shocked by the scene which played out before the three of them.
Slowly the brown haired teen turned and looked towards Mercury, but by now the girl was headed off, most likely towards her room. For a moment Sofia question if she should go after the girl or not, but soon something inside her decided such a tact would not be wise, that Cess needed her space right now, “ Night Kevin, Jamie.” She nodded to each with a sigh and turned to head off for her room as well, “Merry Christmas.” She said fleetingly over her shoulder as she turned the knob of the dorm room she shared with Laurie and slipped inside. What a night this had been…

Her expression changed, the curious smile suggested across her features faded into obscurity, a small moment of fright fell before being replaced by a mask of seriousness. She would not run, not again.
As the internal fight waged, Rogue found herself being led by Piotr into the depths of the Institute, and into med-lab. Once there her hand was left free and the Southerner held back a moment, the war still raging, She did her best to him her gaze From Logan and slowly she approached where Remy lay, her eyes taking in the sights before her of broken machinery and small whiffs of smoke rising up. He was going to wake up, but there was always that chance he was just going out with style… and that would be just like him too. After all how many times does one get to tear up the med-lab anyways? At the notion Rogue found herself laughing cynically inside her mind.
Slowly her green eyes lifted to Remy and for a moment her gaze faultered to Logan’s and she was sure that now she had little chance of running. Letting her gaze fall again, Rogue stayed silent, primarily because she had little idea of what to say or even what to do. A part of her wanted to reach out and touch his hand to make sure this was not a cruel dream, and the rest of her wanted to turn around a run as fast as she could. Either way she was glad she hadn’t been asleep, it was bad enough she looked like shit still with make-up covering the dark circles under her eyes, but it was better then looking like hell, which had she been asleep…
Biting her lower lip, lightless green eyes searched each face in the room with her for what to do. She hated feeling lost or useless as she knew there was no point besides morale for her to be present. Letting out a whisper of a sigh she slowly lifted a hand, and let it come to rest on Remy’s. Instantly she felt the growing warmth, even through the glove over her hand and almost let out a yelp of surprise as it increased dramatically, “ Damn.” Removing her hand, Rogue shook it furiously as she looked back in forth between it and the man who had unknowingly burned her, “ Don’t touch’im… it’s like he’s got a whole buncha built up energy or somethin’ from bein’ out cold for so long.” Eying her hand again she was glad for the little bit of healing factor she did have… or did she?
“ Not again…” She looked to her hand again, the material of the glove had been charred away leaving her skin exposed, the padding of her hand was a deep red and covered in blisters which seemed to grow larger as pain shot up her arm. Wide green eyes looked toward Jean, Pete and then to Logan as she groaned in pain, so much for secrets.

Piotr watched as everything happened around him, he rarely felt this useless. Watching Rogue get burned he did the only thing he could, reaching into the medical supplies he took out a bandage and some gauze. "Here Rogue. You may want to take care of that." he handed her the supplies, he would have dressed it for her, but wasn't sure exactly what was going on. Hearing Rogue say that he has an excess amount of stored up kinetic energy made Piotr realize something. "Jean I have a solution for Remy being charged. I will be right back." he said as he ran out of the door and back into the main part of the mansion. Running as fast as he could he went into the north wing of the mansion and began to pound on a bedroom door. "What do ya want? Its one thirty in the morning!" the voice yelled, obviously being angry at Piotr for awakening him at such an hour. "We need your help in the subbasement..something is going on, hurry." Piotr stated, as if the man on the other side of the door had no choice.
The door slowly opened and the man looked at Piotr. "Whats wrong?" he left the door opened as he began to finish getting somewhat dressed, pulling a shirt over his head and putting on his gloves.
"Its Remy, I think hes waking up."
"Shouldn't Jean or Logan handle it?"
"They are, however he seems to be overcharged with his kinetic energy. Which is where you come in my friend."
The man nodded and began to follow Piotr through the mansion, barely keeping up with him as he rushed.
As soon as the elevator doors opened Piotr sprinted down the hall, pulling the man with him. Entering the room he smiled thinking he had found the solution to the problem. "Jean, I found Bishop. I think he could help with the excess power....." he said as he stepped out of the way and let Bishop take a look at everything.

Jean nodded to Rogue and Piotr, wafting until Bishop got into the room before she moved in to help Remy. At the appearance of the sizeable black man, Jean stepped aside and let him take the first approach. “So… You can just touch him and absorb his kinetic release?” she asked with an incredulous tone of voice. It was rare to see Bishop use his mutation outside of the battlefield. “Not exactly; I’m only able to absorb energy that is directed at me. But if what Colossus says is true, then yea. Jean watched with her arms folded as the energy transfer happened. Teeth bit her lower lip hoping that this decision wasn’t too rash. The last thing she would want is to see Bishop bits coating the ICU if Gambit blew him up. Fortunately, he didn’t. And after a few seconds the Cajun was no longer a kinetic porcupine.
Dr. Grey thanked everyone, asking them to all step outside, and then she began to work. Her voice stated her actions as the imbedded PC transcribed her medical treatment. “Taking samples for a CBC and Chem 7. I need to do a chest film, U/A, and blood cultures times two.” A pocket flashlight snapped on and off as she checked his eyes. “His right pupil is sluggish and slightly larger than the left. 18-gauge in the right AC. Pulse ox is 90 on 50%. “ She looked into the Cajun’s eyes looking for him to register her presence before she explained more. “Remy, we had to put a tube down your throat to help you breathe, but I'm going to take it out now, okay? I want you to take some deep breaths, and when I say blow, I want you to blow as hard as you can. Ready? Okay, blow.” Jean pulled out the plastic tube, assisting Gambit as he coughed roughly. “Do you know where you are? – Your in the medical facility in Westchester. You’ve been in a coma for some time. Don’t try to move, your muscles have sustained a good deal of atrophy from lack of use.

The roomate was fast asleep giving her all the time and silence in the world to keep herself locked in her sad little world. But somehow, even in the big world that was the Xavier's mansion, others always seem to find you when you are in the most need. And one of the most unlikely of people she would have thought to enter into her room came through its door ways. Opening up a world she might not want to walk into.
Raising her head at the feeling of someone else there, she looked eyes with Penance. Pupiless silver orbs met Pupiless Blue ones. Somehow what she was feeling she would think that Penance would unerstand. At least out of everyone in this mansion, for she was the most similar to Cessily. Well, in the way that she had permenant not norman skin and eyes that did hold any pupils, and well aside from the claws anyways. Colossus was similar to Cess in the way he was metal but he could also change back to his normal appearence, some others such as Cess and Penance didn't have that option. How she wish she did, how she envied him.
Slowly wiping a tear from her eye, she stared at the woman silently for a few moments. The exchange of facial expressions said it all. Then suddenly she sighed heavily and shifted her form. Moving to the edge of the bed, she let her legs dangle over and hands to place beside her as she bowed her head. Somewhat disgusted with the way she had been acting as of late, but somehow she couldn't help herself. "I'm sorry I'm a bit wacked out for myself these days. I just have alot on my mind. Like how its so unfair....So unfair that we have to look like this while everyone else walks about normal. Why did I get this curse? .you know?..." Raising her head slowly, the tears were still welling in her eyes. How she hated Christmas and loved it at the same time.
"My Mom and Dad would take me back you know...if I looked normal. " She never really talked to anyone about this, afterall she always played that strong one. But somehow she just lately, didn't feel strong at all. " We used to be the perfect family...until I turned into this..this Freak of nature." she raised her hands and looked down at her form, at her skin, implying that was what she meant. "Everything changed after that, they don't even want me home for Christmas anymore...they are ashamed of me now for something I couldn't control." slowly she picked up a stuffed animal from her bed that she had since she was very young. Staring at it..she threw it suddenly against the wall a feeling of anger coming over her. " I never asked for this! So WHY!? What did I do to deserve this!" With another heavy sigh she slunked back and glanced up towards Penance. " It's not fair..for the both of us."

Mercury was not herself, she said it frankly… and Penance let her brows frown for her… she knew how that could be. She wanted to hug the girl, tell her everything would be all right ,but this stupid body! Yvette would have been able to tell her that telepathically, but Penance… she couldn’t, she couldn’t tell anyone anything! It was making her so frustrated!
Sighing heavily, she realized even that itself was a silent action. Eyes went to Mercury as she began to speak of her parents. Flashbacks of when her parents saw her at birth made Penance shudder. When Penny was born, her parents saw the red-skinned glowing blue eyes girl and decided it important to get her away from society too, although they did love her and try to make it easy for her… she lived like a present day Heidi for a long time. She too was hidden from society-but before she had been kidnapped by Emplate, she was loved.
"I'm sorry I'm a bit wacked out for myself these days. I just have alot on my mind. Like how its so unfair....So unfair that we have to look like this while everyone else walks about normal. Why did I get this curse? .you know?... My Mom and Dad would take me back you know...if I looked normal. We used to be the perfect family...until I turned into this..this Freak of nature. Everything changed after that, they don't even want me home for Christmas anymore...they are ashamed of me now for something I couldn't control. I never asked for this! So WHY!? What did I do to deserve this! It's not fair..for the both of us." Penance watched as the stuffed animal went flying and remembered when she would tear up anything that reminded her of home in her room-or dungeon. A deep breath was sucked in and Penny placed her tendril hands on the metal flesh, letting her know she was there for her. Hopefully-she wouldn’t harm the poor girl.
Eyes glanced around the room, she needed something needed a way to communicate. Then she saw it, although it was on the other side of the room, she creeped silently onto the roommate’s side and took the sad box that was supposed to be a fungshway type thing and made it smooth with a single finger. She began to write on there as she sat back down on the floor. I was forced this way… Emplate. She shook it clear again. My parents loved me, yet hid me from people. once more she shook it. I was kidnapped-my life taken from me. No friends, a slave. Eyes traveled to Mercury as she cleared it yet again. Food in a way, then my soul was taken-and others put in my body. Clear. Somehow, one day, I was at the Mass. Academy… myself but in this body. She took another breath, this was quite annoying, but once more she cleared the sand. I was adopted by a family who felt sorry, but hid me in their basement. Glowing blue orbs looked up to Mercury, hopefully she understood. I haven’t seen my real family in years. I don’t remember my family name or my age. Penny looked up at Mercury. She felt as if the girl should know her story too. I couldn’t stop it. Yet I’ve learned to love myself and it takes time. Sure Penny would get mad at herself… but everyone did. Be lucky you have memories to remember.
That was where she stopped and looked at the girl, gulping air quietly. She hopped she didn’t upset her any more, but the girl must know-not everything in life is planned. And not everything in life is good. Patting the girl’s leg she halfway smiled. You gained family here... and experience. Life isn’t fair when you’re special.

She stared at the girl silently for a moment before sulking back down again with another sigh. Her metallic hand lifted for her eyes as she began to wipe them clear, or tried to. Life was just not fair and she was tired of it, tired of everything. And how could anyone understand what she meant? How? Somehow though she was unsure, Penance looked just as upset as she was, save for the tears of course. When a hand came up to place itself onto her skin, Mercury smiled just slightly at the girl. If she had normal skin it might have hurt her, the touch. But thanks to her mutation it absorbed it slightly.
Just then the girl moved towards her room mates side of the room and Cessily watched her with a brow slowly rising. She grabbed a box from the night stand and moved towards Cess again. Tilting her head just slightly to the side she watched as she began to write down something in the sand. How sad it was, that here Cess was complaining about herself when Penance had it well worse. How selfish. After all Cess could talk and she didn't have to deal with fingers that were long and sharp all the time. She could change that. Cessily began to feel sorry for the red skinned woman.
She read everything that was written and scrawled out for her in the sand. Penance was telling her things, about her past about her life. About how she did have a loving family too but that was stolen away from her, though in a different fashion. And with every sentence she replaced another with, Cess felt her heart hurting just that much more. But this wasn't for her this time, it was more for the woman in front of her. How she took some things far to much for granted. "I'm sorry for everything you went through..."
Her last sentence impacted Cess the most given the current circumstances. You gained family here... and experience. Life isn’t fair when you’re special. That reminded her of something she had said before too. She said a similiar thing to Kevin when he was upset..said that here they had family. And at that moment she decided in her mind and in her being that it was time to smarten up. Penance was right and it was time to see it. If her real family, if you could call them that, didn't accept her then it was time to let in the new family.
She saw Penance's smile before her own lips pulled into one. "You're right. I guess...Christmas is just the time when emotions come out a tad bit easier eh " she laughed gently before moving close to the girl and placing her arms carefully and gently around her. Giving a hug. "Thank you...Penny."

Jamie watched the interaction with the small group though he didn’t look amused at the ghost bit. He knew the blonde woman he’d seen was dead. Cessily was still in a mood then he heard footsteps coming up behind him. Turning he saw the man he’d run into, but he justed passed by the group of teenagers to Rogue, from the look on her face James felt even worse. “Marry Christmas Jamie.” “You too.” He nodded towards Sophia. “I’m going to bed…” Kevin commented about being in the shed. Once again Jamie was left alone.
Entering his room the boy pulled off the black uniform and climbed into bed. Maybe he could put this whole thing behind him. All of it, the fact that on a daily bases he experienced seeing dead things, and the fact that Logan was his father. Rolling over unable to find sleep, arms wrapped up around his pillow. At least it was Christmas. So for just one day he planned to ignore who he was. He was learning though that life at the Xavier Institute wasn’t ever calm and easy. Finally sleep found the dark haired boy. Early morning hours passed by and eyes opened groggily around 10:30 at the sounds of laughter and running.
Pushing up he looked to see if his roommate had ever come back. Not seeing Kevin, Jamie dressed pulling on a pair of blue jeans and a printed tee shirt with a long-sleeved white one underneath it. Hand brushed through his messed hair attempting to tame it before heading out into the hall. Side stepping a younger student already playing with a present, rubbing the back of his neck he wondered how Christmas was done at the mansion. Sneaker clad feet carried him over the floor to the stairs down.
Form entered the kitchen, searching the cupboards for something to eat, taking a bowl he opted on cereal. Little pieces clinked into the bowl as he finished pouring. Turning to reach into the fridge he stopped seeing it extended out towards him. “Have a seat, kid.” Jaw clenched as he took the carton and his bowl, reluctantly sitting at the table. Eyes watched as a coffee cup was set down near him and the chair pulled out. Jamie pushed his cereal around with his spoon avoiding the man. “Is that guy ok?” “Yeah, he was just waking up from a coma. He’s not what I wanted to talk to you about.” Jamie shoved a spoon full into his mouth looking up towards Logan. “I know it ain’t easy, your mom wanted to protect you, your dad was a good man…” “Don’t you talk about him! I was supposed to be his son, not yours.” “Jamie I’m not trying to take his place.” “Then what are you trying to do?”

Logan tried to help Jean where he could when it came to Remy. That was until Jean ushered them all out. For a while he spoke to Bishop who’d returned for a while, then he went on security rounds. Night was easy but there was something else on his mind, and Logan didn’t sleep. In the morning he headed downstairs listening to the excited sounds of younger students. There was faint sound coming from the kitchen and Logan picked up the scent.
Looking up he saw the dark haired boy, pouring cereal. Reaching into the fridge he pulled out the milk and waited for Jamie to turn around. Wolverine let the conversation go. He was trying to be informal about it, or make some kind of head way with the boy, but it wasn’t his strength. Being domestic, he was better suited to fighting. Hand ran into his dark slightly spiked hair. “Then what are you trying to do?” Muscles flexed in his jaw as he looked back towards the boy. There were times that he could see himself, even though they never met until Jamie came to the Institute.
“I want you to come with me.” “What?” He had an idea in mind, not for himself but someone else. Logan stood and took his coffee cup taking a long drink of the warm liquid. Eyes looked back down before turning and pacing across the kitchen to the skin. Hands placed upon the basin as he sighed. “This is the first Christmas X-23 has, ever had. I was thinking maybe you could help her understand.” Turning around Wolverine folded his arms across his broad chest. Watching the boy’s inquisitive gaze. Questioning in his mind what was being asked of him. Logan stepped forwards once again. “ You and I are the closet thing to family she has.”

X didn't sleep much that night. Well, she never really slept much at all. She was getting used to this place still and found it still uncomfortable. She pulled her legs closer to her chest and glanced about the room slowly. The emptiness that enveloped the world around was not a shock to her but something so very normal. Finally she decided she would try to get that rest that was needed.
Moving from the bed she let the uniform fall to the floor and put on her pair of pj shorts and black tank top. Removing the collar she always seemed to have on, she slipped underneath the sheets. Her greens orbs searched around as she layed flat on her back, sheets pulled underneath her arms as they layed over the sheets beside her, resting on each side. For a while she just layed there, listening to the commotion outside the room, listening as foot steps died down, listened as people finally went to bed until finally there is silent. Until finally her eyes slowly closed and she entered the world of dreams.
Like every night she was plagued with many images she would rather have forgotten. Of demons and monsters of her past. She twitched a bit, her hands clutching into fists and out of them. Lips curling up into a snarling formation. And suddenly there was running, hard foot steps and she was awake. Her eyes flew open wide and she sprung up, sitting straight and staring out before her. With a tilt of her head she checked the clock, 7:00 am. Her ears picked up on the sound that awoke her, the few movements that made haste outside the door ways. There was some laughter, some excitment in voice. What an odd week really.
Finally leaving the bed, she followed the sounds of foot falls and voices until they carried her to the rec room. She saw there vibrant paper covered boxes, hundreds of them. All sitting under the decorated tree. She watched as the few small individuals who stayed over the holidays jumped for joy and tried to figure out what was in the boxes, as they knew they could not open them yet. They didn't even notice her. Slightly wide and confused eyes watched everything that went on. People were so odd really.
The hours went by and she watched as others began to flock into the room, as excited as any of the ones who were up before. It seemed they were waiting on something, waiting for what she was unsure. X had found herself a nice spot away from everyone, quietly sitting on the sofa and tilting her head every once in a while at the actions of those around her. Somehow she liked this special day, somehow she loathed it as well. Slowly she stood once to stretch out, and to her suprize something happened. Small arms of a girl wrapped around her legs and she was hugged tightly. X didn't know how to react as the small frame clung to her legs. She looked around with wide eyes desperatly for someone to help her. Hands kept lifted in the air and form tightened to become straight and rigid. It didn't take much to see she was uncomfortable, but the little girl didn't seem to mind as she beamed and with a soft voice spoke. "Merry Christmas!" All she could do was shake her head a bit and hope the small figure let her be. She hoped that someone would come help her soon.
